  1. Hey all. Been having a bit of a problem for a while now. Every (or near enough not to matter) I exit CoH, I end up with a blue screen of death. This is the message on exit:

    Stop: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0xBF807238, 0xA59AAAF4, 0x00000000)

    win32k.sys Address Before BF80728 base at BF800000 Datestamp 4de797d3

It happens on no other program than CoH. Everything else runs just fine. Thoughts?

Soun may be able to cry crocodile tears at the drop of a hat, is a coward, and lives in fear of the Shrunken Master, but anyone seeing someone looking like that guy is gonna say, "Run. Just run. Run hard, run fast, and don't look back at the axe murderer!".

That's his pigtail? Thought it was part of his shirt.
  3. Ah Kasumi...my favorite of the three. Wondering how well the Akane actor can manage the cute-to-psychopath inside of .3 seconds.

Kuno is spot-on. Genma is a not quite fat enough. Not seeing the pigtail on boy-type Ranma. Wonder if they're going to true and include Kodachi in this as well.
  4. Soun looks like he belongs in a mental institution.

Also, decision can't be made till Shampoo, Kasumi, and Happosai are seen.
  5. Sounds to me like its going to be a generic cop show with the Punisher name slapped on it.

But since it's Fox, it'll be cancelled a half-hour into the pilot episode.

I do believe it was my first one. Regardless of whether it was my first or not, I have not gotten any tokens beyond my initial 37, iirc.
  7. I've looked at Nerf weapons as pretty good substitutes for making a boltgun for if and when I ever make a suit of Space Marine armor or Imperial Guard getup. They've now come out with disc weapons that I think would be perfect for doing a Dark Eldar getup.
  8. Yet to receive this month's token. Bought 400 pts last night for the Halloween Pack, did not receive a token. Will not be buying more pts. I had 37 tokens granted at the start of Freedom, spent all 37 tokens. Have not checked if a point token was granted overnight.

    Re: the motorcycle.

They were on the move. They weren't expecting to stop for any real length of time, or at the very least not to break down on the interstate. They would far outpace any deaders before they could zero in on the bike's noise. Once they were stopped, the prospect of making extraneous noise when they know there was at least one herd around became a bit more dangerous.

Silly? Yes. It was naive to think there wouldn't be traffic jams on there, especially when they passed a massive one on the way out of Atlanta.

    SPOILERS!!!!

As of volume 14, I cannot recall anything specifically calling it supernatural. The best that was shown was the fact that people who had died of "natural" causes still came back as zombies, despite not being bitten. In other words, the bites may accelerate your dying, but they aren't what's bringing them back.

How this plays into the show? *shrug*

So once they became zombies they may still go through the motions of sitting in church because the surroundings were so familiar to them when they were alive.

I guess we'll see if that kind of thing gets established in the show.
I would liken it less as to instinct and more along the lines of muscle memory. Though you could probably make 'em somewhat synonomous (sic) with each other.
  13. Actually just finished watching the first episode. Very weird and very creepy. Though I could definitely do without Dylan McDermott's naked ***. Now, if it Connie Britton's (that's who is playing the mom right?) or Young Moira, that would make for a much more interesting show.

I'm thinking that kid is actually part of the house rather than some real patient.

What this means for Walking Dead is that there'll be side stories from the comics that aren't covered in the TV show and/or other parts that are revealed much earlier in the TV show than they were in the comic books.

It looks like either way they're going to make an interesting show no matter how it turns out.
However, what comes next (from appearances anyway) is from the comics. Carl getting shot was also in there and was a pretty significant point for what came after. Though the deer wasn't present.

It's not so much that, but rather the smell. I've gutted plenty a deer over the years, and while they might not smell the greatest when you open 'em up, the stench can be pretty bad if the intestines have been cut or shot. It also makes (in this case) it harder to pull the stomach and its contents out if they've been ripped to hell by Mr. Lizzie Borden there.

There are still some pretty big differences. The CDC and any virus explanation or origins it would have/could have provided are more explanation than the comics have ever seen.
That, and we're missing the twins and their parents, which later on is a decent enough plot point. The Hispanics weren't in the comics, nor is Darryl/Dale/whatever his name is. They've also passed up Wiltshire Estates and that whole bit with Sophia running off is also new.

Yes, get to the stomach. But the way he was hacking through that belly, there wouldn't have been anything left. Or at the very least, the relatively intact gut bag that Rick went rummaging through. It's a thin flap of skin, it didn't require the overhead smashing that he was doing. If he were going through the sternum/rib cage, then yes, those overhand smashes would be necessary.

At this point, I don't think the comics have any bearing on the show, except for maybe intentions. i.e.,
    ... COMIC SPOILERS!!! ...

In the comic, Kirkman intended for Carl to have a near-fatal experience, so we'll get a version of that here. Andrea becomes the badass, so we'll get a version of that here. Shane dies... eventually, we'll get a version of that here.

But already all of the details have been changed. And I'm only surmising a lot of these - It's possible that Rick talking to the walkie talkie will provide the dramatic expository moments in the TV series that Rick's psychosis talking to a dead Lori provided in the book, so maybe she'll survive. *shrug*
Oh, the comics are still entirely necessary. Carl getting shot was right on par, though not with the deer being there. They are playing fast and loose with it, but the overall broad strokes are still there.

Are you referring to what I said? I've never read the comics this TV show is based on and I've actually actively avoided learning any more about them for now. I'll probably eventually read them, but for now anything I "guess" about the story here will be based on pure TV show knowledge without any inside info.
See...those of who have read the comics "know" what's coming, in broad terms. We might not know exactly how/when/what they are doing with the show, but those previews are pretty much what happened in the comics.

Is it acceptable to reference stuff from the comics? Ya, it would be spoilers and all.

How far could that herd have gotten? Shamblers aren't exactly known for speed. Though granted, they do have redonkulous stamina, so they could keep going for a while. But that also begs the question of if that church bell was on a timer, why there t'weren't more deaders there.

And swallowing a woodchuck's head whole? Come on man, that's beyond the pale right there.

They've got plenty of food for the moment. As evidence by that stack of purloined goods by the RV. Lori's bit about the graveyard was pure idiocy. Those dead folks don't need that stuff any more. You'd think she'd be a bit more pragmatic about it.

Gutting the Walker? That wasn't gutting. That took no skill whatsoever. True hunters know that you want to avoid slicing the stomach and/or intestines to avoid spoiling the meat. However, Darryl is a pretty good tracker. THAT takes skill.
