Quote:Why not hop servers? One time on Freedom, the next one will be on Virtue followed by the next event on Pinnacle and so forth? We host one of these a month, each one requiring time from one or more developers and the Community team. For us to host these on each and every server would require a not insignificant investment of time that isn't realistic, both from a Community team standpoint or from a developers time spent.
I understand and appreciate that you want to include everyone, and we're making strides to include premium and free players in more ways, as you can see by the improved forum access, however we're going to continue to offer exclusive events and perks for our VIP players.
.
Maybe make two events per month, but this way you are not forcing people o a server they don't want to go to. I have no problems waiting to bring my best toon to a CC, because this way, i can.
We get perks as VIPs.. time to give some perks to free and premium players too, see if they will stay alive longer than a DfB'd 50 in an Underground trail. -
We on Guardian have a Mo Team.. we are badge hunters, and we spend hours going for Mo badges.
When Keyes just came out, we assembled again, and we did a good 60 or so runs till all got the badge. My Crab Spider Neph has all but one Mo, and that was due to a miscalculation in time, i was present for all the runs, but the run in which we got the 'Avoid the Green stuff' badge, my account got locked, just as we were going to fight the final fight. I was on Vent, and several people even send a petition trying to have them grant me the badge anyways.
You are welcome to join us on Guardian, there are nice people here.
We form trials in PD for the most part, and most trials are run daily.
When you say you are forming for a Mo badge, most of the better people will show up. -
Donation night for new music for DJ Zero, those who didn't donate got roughed up by Black Scorpion.

I also certify that I am at least 13 years of age and am eligible to participate in this contest. -
Neph will be there to help you kick off the party.
Hopefully, i'll be there the whole day Saturday, since it'll be the best way to farm my WST Badge to 50 >.< -
Would be fun to see a new zone get the 'lets see what we got' version that week or month.
Great way to test out changes they want to make without it being permanent. Great way for the player base to see what's up, and give their input. Great way to see by how many use the zone that month if they are on to something yes or no. Alternate between Siren's Call, Bloody Bay, Warburg, Recluse's Victory and even set it to the Arena as an option to play under those rules. -
Quote:1st off the bat:They're doing a nice thing at Christmas. They don't have to do anything at all, but they are trying to start up something fun, giving everyone advance notice, and when someone complained that it interfered with their event, they MOVED THE EVENT!
And still people criticize they aren't doing enough.
*facepalm*
For goodness sakes, it's a COSTUME CONTEST! You're not going to win. *I'm* not going to win! Something we both agree is doofy is going to win. Why? Because that's what CC's do! It's in the fine print of the rules, or a by-law or something. Even people you know that have exquisite taste will pick out something dumb when they sponsor a CC. Temporary insanity? Absolute power corrupting absolutely? We may never know! But we all know this is the guaranteed result of a CC.
It just IS.
What we can do is go and have fun. And maybe even say "thanks, it was nice of you, we appreciate your thinking of us." And if you wanted to add "I know we'd all love to see you host a CC on (name your server), too, sometime!" I don't think anyone would be offended in the slightest. Heck, they may even feel inclined to go to (name your server) because all the people they've met from there lately seem so doggone likable.
They have held a monthly CC event on Exalted since i21 came out. It's in their notes that they'll do this every month, not just for X-mas, it's just a theme, like.. Halloween?
Our issue is:
Spreading the love around.
Singling the love to one server where only VIPs can go is imo, a big slap in the face to free players, Premium players and even VIPs who CHOOSE not to abandon their home server.
Now i hear you say: "Make a toon just for the CC, and stop complaining."
My reply: "A level1 toon doesn't have as much costume options unlocked."
Also, making these events for VIPs only, divides the player base.. I'm a VIP, on Guardian, I refuse to go to Exalted, so i am not important to them?
Premiums spend/spent cash on the game, are they also not important?
Free players might in the future spend cash on the game, are they not important?
I'm saying that i AM important. That guy that just made his 1st toon, checking out the game for his 1st hour, guess what.. he is just as important as i am, as she is, and yes.. even you.
"Well, the events are for VIPs only to show them that they care, and give something extra."
We already get stuff extra.. 400PP a month, Free Server Transfer, free this, free that..all cause we pay our $15 a month subscription.
Instead of trying to do something special for people who know how great this game is, how great the Devs COULD be, do something special for the ENTIRE player base, so that that guy that just entered Atlas Park for the 1st time, also knows what great this game and the Devs could be, and will tell his friends about it. (see the snowball effect i'm creating here guys?)
They used to have events several days on all servers. Not all on one day, but spread out over a week, why can't they do that? -
Then the mods should Mod better, cause there are waaaay to many threads about it, and we can't talk anywhere without someone bringing it up.
-
Can we please stop talking about Statesman's funeral?
-He died once before, Numina raised him from the dead.
-He dies in SSA#5, there are two more episodes for him to stand up, and have someone else take the fall... who can't be brought back to life.
-Zwill said there were still a few twists to the whole story, esp the way he dies.
-Statesman is THE face of the game, whether you like it or not.
So, please, for your own health, and my sanity.. stop planning his funeral. Just play the ENTIRE arc and see what happens. -
Quote:What good is ruling the world, when there is no world to rule?No matter how despicable a character I roll, I can go to the Rikti Warzone and be given a mission that says Save the World. That's pretty insulting to a villain.
Well.. Statesman dies.. but so does your beloved Lord Recluse. -
Posi mentioned in an interview right after the Going Rogue expansion that he regrets the War Walls in Paragon City, and they are looking for ways to get rid of them.

Quote:I'll be wearing a solid black basic outfit, nothing fancy.. just black on black.
I find moving the event to Virtue a good first step but not enough. Since people may or may not have toons/slots on Virtue to enter this "contest". Sure most can make a new toon but a 50 with all the goodies unlocked has an advantage over a newly created toon far as costumes go.
In the past the Devs held a holiday event and release parties on all servers. I want everyone to have a chance to go and be included.
I'm not paying so that other people get disrespected and ignored. And that's how this and like events feel to me.
I will be there quietly protesting, I hope others do.
You will not be alone in your protest. -
NO!
The reason i scream no is simple:
Leadership, tactic, willingness to listen and follow instructions..and the most important part.. people willing to do their best.
I led a bunch of MoM runs last weekend, got an avarage of 2 to 3 badges per run, with several people not even level shifted, yes.. i let regular 50's join the fun too.
Now i hear u say, "They must have been good players u know on new 50's!"
Uhmm.. No, most of them i didn't even know, at all.
All i ask when i lead is that people do their best and follow instructions, i go for all badges, max rewards each and every run.
This Sunday i'm holding a MoTPN run marathon, and again, i will not decline people who are regular 50's. My tactic is solid, and if needed, i can change tactics on the fly.
A good leader shouldn't be afraid who he/she invites into a trail,if they have a solid tactic, and people who are willing to do as told.. and that is the issue with most league, there are always people who can't listen and do as asked. Hence, most people only want the +3's since they think that they know what to do.
I was leading a Lambda when it just came out, i saw that one player was just attacking mobs solo, while the rest of the group went the right way.
I asked him to please follow the crowd.. his response: "I'm +1, i know what i'm doing." Less than a minute later he died, and before he could exit the hospital, i kicked him from the League. -
This is something i posted when they had the Halloween mash-up contest:
Quote:And my fears become reality!
I had a feeling when during the headstart of i21 all events were held on Exalted while the other servers are being ignored.
Now another Costume Contest, on Exalted. *SIGH*
Look, it's nice that you guys hold a CC for people, but does it really have to be on just that server?
Not everyone moved to Exalted, not even with the monthly server transfers we get. I for one, avoid that server like the plague, the server transfers are collecting dust, and get more and more frustrated by the fact that the majority of the player base and it's servers are being neglected.
Yes, i'm a VIP, but does that mean i HAVE to move to the VIP only server? It seems that with the monthly server tokens we get, you, the Devs, would like to see that.
I have my toons, my SG and my friends on Guardian, i am not moving, no matter how many free server transfers you try to cram on my account.
I've seen a lot of people complain about these free tokens.
Yes, i totally understand the idea behind it, and i'm thankful that we get a little extra for being a VIP. All i want, and not just me, is a choice, is freedom. I hope that in the near future, we can either trade the server transfers we received, or, what i really hope, that we get a choice in a reward.
Look, it doesn't have to be the same value, really it doesn't.
Say we can pick from:
- Free Server Transfer
- Free Server Slot
- Free Respec Token
- Paragon Points (400-600)
So please, unless you can make cross server play available, for ideas see http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=256726,
please stop neglecting the servers that build this wonderful game.
Quote:I suggest we go to this event, use the protest emote, and when time to be judged turn our backs to the devs.
Why?
Because we are ONE community. Keeping Exalted exclusive on these promotions only causes divide with the players.
Already we have promotions and contest that aren't allowed in countries because of laws. This is something Devs can't control.
But this type of meet and greet event and faux contest they can do something about. It is their choice not to include the other servers and frankly its a slap in the face to those that play on them. Saying that its for VIPS is a flase reason. There are VIPs on other servers, and there are Premiums that have paid more and done more then some VIPS for this game. And treating new Free players and throw away second or third class people is wrong. What better way than to use these events to introduce Free/New players to the whole COX experience?
Last year there was 8 or 9 poket D's on Freedom because of the turn out. That's just 1 server, thats just a small sample of how many people you are sending the messege that you don't care about the players of these servers anymore.
Join with me and show and protest. No more! We are ONE Community!
I hope we can all show them we ALL are ONE. We are ALL important, not just VIPs, not just one server.
UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL.

Ice skating fun in Faultline turned into a pool party when a Fire/Fire Tanker showed up.

The only real weakness a Crab Soldier has, is the player.
I can honestly say, and i have been told many times, that i have one of the or even the best Crab Soldier on the server. I have spend well over a year playing it on an almost daily base, made a build that is about 26 Billion inf worth, and can handle almost anything i get myself into.
I have no pets, i have dual leadership buffs, melee and ranged attacks and solid resistance and defense numbers. PvP or PvE, i can handle myself, and people know not to worry about Nephila. I get special assignments on trails, and actually brought back the Crab spiders from the death on my home server.
That said, i know my weakness, and i guard it very well. I know solo i am not as strong as in a team. I don't have pets so my damage output isn't top, and a long 1v1 vs a tank/brute/scrapper/AV/GM will leave me with problems, and my tactics against it will help me with it. Place me on a team however, and i'll thrive.
We did a 4 VEAT vs 4 other AT's PvP fight, i instructed people to stay close, max the buffs, and not chase... we won 13-0 on a 10 minute match.
People said that a lvl40 toon couldn't beat a lvl50 toon at all. I told them it was possible, it all depends on how well the players know their toons.
Back then i was playing my lvl35 WP/SS Tank that i was building into a lead tank, went up against a PL'd lvl50 scrapper, and showed it all the corners of the arena map.
Knowing your toon is key, not just with Crabs or VEATs, but with ALL AT's.
You PL a toon to 50, pump 25 Billion inf worth of purple, PvP and such in it, doesn't mean you have a great toon. It just means you potentially have a good toon.
Like they say on G.I. Joe...
Now you know, and knowing is half the battle. -
*Ties down Avatea to game, puts Pepsiman on head*
You can't go! You can't go! You can't go!
No joke, this game is addicting, so you will not be able to just step away from it.
My best wishes to you,
and we'll leave the lights on for you! -
MoM is stupid easy, i led a MoM Farm last night, each run was 3 badge worthy some even close to 4 badges. Sometimes we got the 'Storm' badge, sometimes we didn't, sometimes we got the last badge, sometimes we didn't, even with people who weren't level shifted, some +1, most +2 and a few +3's.
I foresee MoM being the new Incarnate Farm, short, simple and an Empy each completion.. just begging to be farmed. -
>>>>.<<<<
I normally don't suck, nor does my toon.. but last night, my God, it was THAT bad. It was all ok till my 1st DC in the 1st fight, after that, it just seemed like my toon thought w/e.
Only thing i am normally weak at, Gladiator fights, was the only thing i did well..lol
Overall, we had a nice time, Dash got a new badge (we still waiting on our bribe to take dives :P) But yeah, we had fun.
Hope to see more next FNFN, this Friday Night is Fight Night! -
As a Guardianite who knows a few people who play on Pinnacle, i'll just tell them to leave the lights on for you, hoping you'll be able to find your way home.
All i can say, i hope you have fun wondering through a galaxy far far away. -
Legionaire
I can do many voices, any type u need.
Friends always told me to do something with it -
Quote:I got kicked from a STF cause i didn't want to keep fighting the ship for merits while Reculuse and his towers get back to full health.
My friend and SG mate quit cause i got kicked, 30 minutes later we both got the reward pop up, and he even got the badge, i had the badge already.Quote:I just want to point out that Rodion didn't reaffirm what you said, but what *I* said. You said you could log out with the first mission, never come back, and still get the rewards at the end. I said you have to be present for enough of the last mission to get the rewards. Rodion proved me right, not you.
The Trials work differently, most likely due to the participation metric (there is no participation metric in a TF).
Quote:Also, a TF is a series of missions, whereas a Trial is usually just one long mission. Therefore, the participation metric will be different between these two activity types.
MoM is 4 missions, the 'rest' period with Des is not part of the mission, and we con +1, not +2 or +3 during our time there.
