Not getting the water effect from slow fields for some reason
Tried both tech and magic if it makes a difference. I dont know though if the "level" of the slow field is relevant, I only tried tier 3 slow fields of both categories. -
Pylon took me about 30 mins IIRC. You can only imagine the level of annoyance when I noticed the stupid game had reverted my /screenshotui back to 0!
Also TRT, I've soloed Chimera but it was during the same session as the Pylon so no good pics -
The toxic resist might not be needed but it's sure nice when fighting things that actually use toxic attacks. It's much like psi, I could do without the psi def/res before IOs but having it makes my life easier.
-
Someone's got to have something to say!
At least suggest an attack chain if nothing else. -
Topic pretty much says it. If I use shift + number and alt + number in rapid succession it causes the game to crash (to choose a team member and then to use buff/heal). If I use alt + shift it also crashes.
Any way to fix this? -

Anyone got any advise on whats skippable from SR and on slotting?

remove the 6th slot on hecatomp and armageddon imo, voila 2 free slots
[/ QUOTE ]
I dont need more slots. Besides, these two slots give me 10% toxic resistance and depending on which "6th" enhancement I'd take out I'd also lose attributes on the power itself. -
So, I've been tinkering with the idea of getting purples in my build to avoid having (I know it's not needed...) to get hasten. I think I managed to plug all the possible holes in the build quite well but many eyes see more than two so I'm posting the build here so that people might catch things I've overlooked in this build.
The main goal for me was to get my general resists quite high (in the mid 20s for all exotic types and mid 60s for S/L), getting defense to good numbers (in the 30s against 5 targets which is quite usual, also just a % shy of the lethal cap with divine avalanche but if I really need that defense it's probably always 2 stacked to get melee defense soft capped.
Regen was also a priority with recharge (might've guessed) along with accuracy. Cost is not a problem as I have all but two of these enhancements at the moment.
I quite like the idea of stacking Winter's Gift with REL's corresponding slow resistances to be at least a bit safer from -rech and -speed.
One thing I'm currently not so sure of is whether I should take Gambler's Cut over SotW. I know Gambler's has higher DPA but I'm not yet sure about the attack chain I'll be using and I'm not planning (at least yet) to use any procs in my tier 1 attack, be it GC or SotW. Dropping 2.5% psionic resistance wouldnt hurt me much seeing as psi is fairly rare and I already have quite high defense against it anyway. Getting an Achille's Heel there might be worth it.
I just need an attack chain for the build now. I slotted DA with some damage to avoid drops in DPS in case I'm fighting something that requires a lot of lethal or melee defense. In other words, an attack chain utilizing DA wont be frowned upon. As a reminder, this is the slotting I'm dead set for GDF and SD. And there's no way I'm going to take hasten.
Finally, the build itself:

Thanks that will work great, also noticed that i´m actually 4 hitpoints from the cap but i´think i can manage.

Easily. Sacrificing set bonuses to get those 4 HP wouldnt be worth it. You'd get no reasonable increase in regen (or survival for that matter) so keeping to your current build looks like a better idea. -
QR
1) Solo'd 11 different AVs and a Pylon on my FM/SR. Sure, an illu/rad or an MM would be better suited for it, but then where's the challenge?
2) Doubt that's possible anymore. An illu/rad just might be able to do it.
3) Solo'd a Posi. Also duo'd Citadel. Soloing TFs isnt hard at all, it's the AV at the end that will produce the difficulties for most. And there are easier ways to find AV fights than soloing a TF, besides most TFs are faster with teams.
4) Tried MoSTF a couple of times. Failed them all. And on most attempts my badge toon doesnt even get along. Not going to waste my time with this one I think, it isnt even fun. Cant play like a reckless scrapper should!
5) Weird builds... Not my thing really. Playing to 50 without levelling once? I'd die of tedium after, hmm, maybe 10 levels. What's the point in it anyway? Make the mostly quite repetitive content even worse by artificially prolonging it by only having 2 or 3 powers for damage?
Also I tend to try and get the most out of my builds at 50 without purples/lotgs/expensive stuff anyway, so weird builds (as in lacking or very situational ones) arent for me. -
If you wanted, you could slot Build Up a bit differently to get 2% damage out of it. Not much but every bit adds up and you'd get more ToHit out of it.
Build Up==> Adjusted Targeting: ToHit/Rech, Adjusted Targeting: Rech, Gaussian: ToHit/Rech -
Mwh... The 8% resistance sure is nice... But if I have to log out for a week for it to last 1 playing session? No thanks.
Are there any other universally useful day job accolades aside Time Lord? Thinking of getting day trader to get WW discounts. -
[ QUOTE ]
It's Passive.
It seems to be something like 1 minute for 2 hours logged out.
[/ QUOTE ]
Damn, and I thought getting the accolade would actually get me rid of these "log a day off and get half a mission's worth of bonus" bonuses :/
[ QUOTE ]
I wouldn't consider +20% recharge, +20% slow resit, and 75% TP protection "lowish" for a power you get by doing nothing though.
[/ QUOTE ]
Didnt know about the slow resist or TP part. -
So a simple question about this day job accolade. Is it passive or a clicky? And if clicky how long are the duration and recharge values?
The low'ish (20%) recharge value leads me to believe it's either passive or a clicky with a shorter recharge time than geas (closest to it in the accolades department). -
I'd use something a bit different. Changed power order a bit and also swapped some of the slotting. Also picked a different ancillary for a better PvE shield and more AoE.

Sounds good to me. Besides I think this could even be very hard to implement. They have the models, just need to remove the click-boxes (or whatever they have to make them clickable) inside the objects to make the decorative.

[ QUOTE ]
Depends on build and powersets.
[/ QUOTE ]
Of course, but fighting an AV that I have no defense at all against (Malaise for example) or an AV with auto-hit end drain (Neuron) are situations that just cant be handled without insps - with my build. There are builds that are better suited against these encounters of course.
[ QUOTE ]
I think its great though that you have been able to solo them on your build and insp use isnt that bad imo.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hehe, thanks. The main difference between insp use and temp powers I find is that inspirations are much more limited. I can have 10 different sort of buff temp powers that can last up to an hour of use, while with insps I can at maximum have 1 type of insp I can use for a whole 20 mins. Then if I need more of this said type of inspiration at once (say 2 reds each minute or 3 lucks a minute) it cuts the uptime of the inspirations.
And as Shannon said, with enough temp powers anything can solo an AV. Add inspirations to that and we're basically godmoding.
Besides, it's far easier to get tier 1 inspirations than most of the temps. I wouldnt be arsed to run a whole arc to get Wedding Band or Warwolves. Neither would I be arsed to run around a PvP zone to get shivans or Warburg nukes.
[ QUOTE ]
Whats your attack chain?
[/ QUOTE ]
Incinerate -> Cremate -> Greater Fire Sword -> Fire Sword -> Repeat
There's a slight gap between Cremate and Greater Fire Sword. About 0.2 seconds. It could be fixed with 2 lotg +rech's but seeing that the increase in DPS would be very minor and my current DPS is enough to solo a Rikti Pylon* I just wont be arsed to actually buy those LotGs.
*Did it yesterday but for some reason the /screenshotui had reset to 0. Got to have another go later today. Shame it also messed up my Chimera fight's pics, he wasnt a problem at all though, could always flashback it if I wanted to do it again. -
[ QUOTE ]
I'd have to have a pop at getting a build specced for doing it without temps. With the million and one other things to do that could take time XD .
[/ QUOTE ]
That's not actually hard. My build was just a soft capped FM/SR meant for PvE. Then I realized it's good for soloing AVs...
[ QUOTE ]
(Lets face it, with enough temps a Granite/Ice soloes AVs XD )
[/ QUOTE ]
Which is why I dont use temps. Inspirations are okay because some AVs just arent possible without them. Neuron drains your end with autohit power sink and high acc voltaic sentinel, Malaise has attacks without positional flag and Diabolique bubbles up at the end of the fight. Those are just a few examples of fights that actually require using insps.
Besides, AVs are meant to be challenges for teams so a solo player beating them with insps is good. Actually very good -
[ QUOTE ]
How long did the shadow hunter fight take?
[/ QUOTE ]
Somewhere between 15 and 20 minutes. Dont have timer on when I fight AVs
Also, Diabolique beaten again. This time with pics (and UI!);
Hello, Diabolique
Half way there
Second and last bubble up
And so she falls before me
Do I still need UI pics of the fights missing them? -
[ QUOTE ]
Ahah, just noticed that you actually run tough, so maybe that explains my HP problem with Chimera. I dont think I actually have slots in mine other than the +def though.
[/ QUOTE ]
I actually only have the +3% def unique in it as well. I only run it against AVs that have high hitting spike attacks, such as seismic smash from him. The difference from going 1750 damage to 1500 damage can be a life saver. You might have noticed from the pics though that I had to chew a few blues to keep my endurance on the blue side
[ QUOTE ]
Nice work though, show that to teams that say you need to fight him in the water next time it comes up
[/ QUOTE ]
Hehe, good idea
He actually only uses earth's embrace when he's somewhere between 80% and 90% of his HP. He used it once in the whole fight. When he used it I just popped 2 reds to get over his buffed regen. -
-
I can try to get a FM/FA build with high melee defense. Also I think you can do a good all-round build for a DM/SR that can solo AVs. Was possible for my FM/SR
-
You shouldnt need aid self on a DM/SR. Slot siphon life for a bit of heal and a bit for damage. Also get some regen set bonuses and you're set.
Also I think a FM/FA could do the melee heavy AVs if you invested a lot in melee or S/L set bonuses. -
BS doesnt have enough DPS for it. Best sets for AV soloing are dual blades, claws, FM and katana. All of them can get a fast attack chain and a lot of procs (which I dont use, though) in fast animating attacks.
Yeah, didnt even drag Tyrant to the lava pool
