1. Having done quite a few TFs during the past two weeks I have noticed quite an annoying trend; a lot of crashing when exiting the final mish of the TF.

Myself I crash about 50% of the time when I exit the final mish and it's not rare to see most of the team crash, too. What I've also noticed is that if I exit the mission via Ouroboros it doesn't make me crash, don't know if this is only me being lucky or something related to pressing the exit button.

Anyone else experiencing the same?
2. I can't see any real flaws in the build. As Shannon said the power order could use some tuning, though.
3. I quite like the sound of this.

This pretty much sums it up.

Is it for duel pvp or something? Whats with so much leap pool love? I dunno, I don't think you need leap pool to softcap and so can haste ss yaself and keep taunt.

[/ QUOTE ]

Nah. It's no way for PvP, leaping just happens to be my travel pool of choice. I pick it on nearly all of my toons because it's fast and offers great vertical travel. Besides, Hurdle + CJ is awesome for combat maneuvering.

[ QUOTE ]
If you remove taunt you will become limited in what you can do for a team that's not one of them specced ones. With taunt you can slot and build to tank anything, for any team, as any type of tank, one way or another. Its a power that all tanks can get and is one that you can balance all types of tanks around using some team dynamic noddle.

[/ QUOTE ]

That was what I was thinking of. I even picked Taunt on my Ice/SS who has 2 AoEs and both of the taunt auras. Guess I'll just have to live without hasten and fill in my attack chain with Shadow Punch.

If we only were able to choose between the two first powers of our secondary sets... *sigh*
6. Here's a slightly altered build. Right now I'm left with only one problem: should I drop Taunt in order to get Hasten? I'm a bit worried about how it would work out in teams because Shield is no Ice Armor and I don't have a spammable AoE...

Anyways, here's the build:

8. I usually focus on those people who actually take the damage. Particularly SR scrappers/brutes and Dark Armor tanks/brutes/scrappers. Basically any characters that take the beating and have very few or no means at all to increase their own HP.
9. HP caps can probably be found at Paragonwiki or Redtomax. Just google either and you should find the homesites.
10. Couple of things that stick into my eye... You don't need Stamina at 20. Take Quick Recovery instead at that point. It's better and doesn't require prerequisites. Also grab Lightning Rod at 32.

You should also slot High Pain Tolerance for Healing instead of Resistance. Then to further add survival take Heightened Senses before Weave.

That's about it on a quick glance..
11. They do benefit from it, yes. But they're among the ones who benefit the least from it. If an invuln tanker (assume not perma DP) can get +1k HP from frostwork (just guessing the numbers) and a WP tank gets +500HP (assume that's enough for him to hit the cap) it's not hard to decide which gets more mileage out of frostwork.
12. [ QUOTE ]
But does it work well on defenders? I wasn't overwhelmed by the speed duration as a Dominator. It sure does seem to have more utility than Siren's Song, but you get the Song at 28, as opposed to 41.

[/ QUOTE ]

The duration is ok. It's also "ok" to sleep an AV + his groupies if your team is capable of using ST damage only to keep the AV on his toes... But then, you can't use Sleet for example.

The best use you have for any sleep powers is to drop an accidentally aggroed group of enemies out of combat. And that's it. Soloers may find some use, too.

[ QUOTE ]
I had another question: Heals are calculated using the caster's max hp. Does that mean that by using Frostwork on an Empath, I am buffing his heals?

[/ QUOTE ]

Sadly not. Heals are actually calculated by the target's base HP. Regen, on the other hand, is calculated by the target's max HP which means that by frostworking someone, you're effectively boosting both his resistance and regeneration.

A thing to keep in mind with frostwork is that some ATs and AT/powerset combinations are able to get to the HP cap or very close to it by themselves so frostworking them would be pretty useless. In general, WP tankers and blasters are the number one teammates to avoid with frostwork because blasters get easily to the cap with the accolades and a couple of set bonuses. WP tanks get a lot of +maxHP out of HPT and accolades and thus are also close to the cap.
13. [ QUOTE ]

It doesn't say it on the box, but 'thick skin' can, for some people, be a necessary requirement to run this game.

[/ QUOTE ]

I've never considered it a requirement, but it does make things a lot easier with some people. I have quite a thick skin and I always end up in a fight if someone tries to mock me in the internet. I bet I'm just as annoying as most other people are, only difference being I don't like to start the fights...
14. Those people who you met are probably exactly the same in real life. You're lucky to meet them in an online game rather than having them as your boss or something.

Regarding the PvP incident, I don't see it any different from any other game where I've played PvP. It's human nature, competition gets them all fired up and if they win they get to boast and if they lose they get to cry. It's a lose-lose scenario for those who just want to play for fun and not for winning.

Broadcasting in Atlas is a whole other matter. I do admit I find it a bit annoying when people advertise farms and SGs and whatnot in there. Some people just take it too far and petition it, but they're only doing harm to themselves. You ever played a game and had someone come up to you and tell you to "giv al ur stuf or my friend he admin he ban u"? This is pretty much the same, although smaller.

Usually the perspective of veterans and hardcore players is that any SGs that are advertised in Atlas broadcast aren't worth joining which might be the root of their aggressive attittude towards the one broadcasting. I wouldn't say behavior like that does warrant it, but as I said, I probably wouldn't join an SG based on an Atlas broadcast.

Whenever playing MMOs it's good to keep in mind that just the anonymous environment of MMOs promotes this kind of behavior. There's absolutely no worry about what will happen if you start mocking someone in an MMO as long as you keep it within the rules.

Hope that made any sense.

PVP Recipes

Surprisingly many people here that seem to have the same perspective on things as I do. I would never pay over 100mil for one IO, even though I can easily make 50mil or more overnight playing the market...

I don't often utilize things much in my builds if they cost over 100 mil a piece. I do have some LotG +rechs in storage from when they cost 20mil or less a piece. Other than that, I just do TFs and hope I get lucky with random rolls.
16. DSorrow

Booooooostrange.

Nope.

It used to, but Castle tinkered with the power to stop people from having ridiculously high ranged powers.
17. [ QUOTE ]
My understanding is that no recharge buff or debuff, be it from:
- set bonuses
- Hasten, Quickness or similar powers
- special IOs such as LotG
will affect the recharge time of Strength of Will. This is similar to the way no damage buffs or debuffs of any kind will affect the damage of Veteran attack powers.

[/ QUOTE ]

Correct.
18. It is working as intended. The devs intentionally put the power on quite a low recharge for a tier 9 and in the process eliminated the ability of lowering it recharge any further. On the plus side though, recharge debuffs wont make it's recharge longer.
19. But the actual recharge time needed differs a bit if you use the ingame numbers which are wrong because of server ticks. Arcanatime "fixes" this problem and gives the real value of recharge needed.
20. 139% with Mid's numbers or Arcanatime incorporated?

I was thinking, though, that with the build I posted I could run an attack chain of MG > Smite > SP > SL > Smite or something like that. I have a Resistance IO in True Grit which I could remove and use the slot to get an additional Damage IO in Shadow Punch to make it a more worthwhile attack.

What do you think of that?

I'd love to be able to have Fire Blast and Fireball in the build, but as usual, it is quite a tight build with the primary set being Shield Defense...
21. I've so far had a pretty even variety of damage, resist and defense sets. The mez and heal sets seem to be the rarest, only have had 1 piece of mez set and 2 of panacea so far.
22. Hehe, no problem.

The only reason I actually picked Mass Hypnosis was to get Mind Over Body. I barely ever use it even though it's slotted, but that's just for the cheap purple bonuses.
23. Right then, here's a slightly reworked build.

The attack chain isn't quite MG > Smite > SL > Smite, but close enough I believe. It will need some filling with Shadow Punch which I might have to slot it in another way to contribute more into damage output.

In general I dropped some of the regen intentionally (Regen Tissue unique) and added to recharge (more LotG).

What do you guys think?

24. How much recharge per attack would that attack chain require?
25. True. I'm thinking I might try for about 50-60% global rech and see where it gets me. It's not too difficult to work out the recharge needed on my own, just wasted effort if the information already exists.
