  1. yea, its the team-thing we need practice on and there where imo too many brutes.. this time we had 2 MM tho and that was interesting. but as Kinslayer said, there wasnt much learning in the direction that we where aiming for. I was top killer in 2 fights, and that is not supposed to be, if fights have higher lvl of class (sorry for offending any1, not player skill, but team skill/config. As a MM i should under no curciumstances be top killer in team-PvP)

regarding complaints, i can only remeber 1 doing so, and he had totally missunderstood the entire concept of the event, so i wouldnt bother much with him. lets try and recruit more ppl of non-melee ATs for next week, since its great fun having true pentad teams. c ya next week
  2. hmm.. never heard of (or experienced) any mez-resist from leadership (might be in vengeance, but i find it hard to use, since it will place u next to a enemy, capable of killing u, since thats what he just did to ur friend ), so it cant be that good.. i agrea regarding leaping also has res to immob, and res to KB, which is very usefull in PvP, since both are wicked killers to squishies. the perk of leadership is the +preception, and i like the additional +Acc Tactics bring, if u plan on +Def buffing ur team, manouvers would be a good addition to keep it maxed up.

if i had to choose, id say leaping for PvP, based on the real resist (not mez) in that pool, plus it has a good speed and control in movement for PvP.

Oh good. I mean, I've been one of three leaders of a supergroup for five months, so I know a fair bit, but a mentoring group would really really help! I have loads of questions on base raids and IoP's.

Skull Biker and I will be leading "The Gang" after i7, so a mentor would be great.. Do you guys have a global channel we could join?

    [/ QUOTE ]

as kin said, send me or @kinslayer or @max powerz a global tell next time online, and we will invite u to Union Leaders.

and regarding mentor coalition, same there.. just send a tell and we will work something out. we will also try and match ur needs to appropriate SG/VG
  4. I never played CoH EU, but i did do a fair amount of time on CoH US and i thing really gives u a thought...

Its not PvP that brings out the worst in ppl, its the fact (as previously said here) that its a meeting grounds for all sort of ppl, and a big part of human society are jerks Even before PvP existed in CoH, u could see ppl herding monsters and leading them into the centre of a Hamidon-Raid, Ritki monkeys jumping all over portal corp. yard. lvl 1 WS's throwing profanity at lvl 50 fire tanks, coz they wouldnt PL them, all kinds of insults towards eachother. as arena went live, the inults changed form, and everything was replied with: 'i pwn u n00b-censor in the arena you XXXXXXXXXXXX and more' since CoV, stalkers has made alot of enemies, not only for bad behavior, but even for rightous, correct and appropriate kills, simply coz ppl cant stand loosing/dying when not asked if this is ok. i try not to interfier with 'duels' in PvP-zones, but i dont get upset if some1 doesnt.. if u want a fair duel, arena is the place, where u can choose ur opponent without NPCs and other plaeyr interupting.

Its not always the attackrs and winners of the PvP that griefs and act like morons, also the victims do many times. i doubt there is anyway we can stop this, 1 way to actually lower the problem would be (in my oppinion) to not admit any1 below the age of 21, but that would still not be 100% safe since u dont have to be 11 to act as if u where. (tho by my spelling u would think i am lol)

seriously, its a shame PvP zones are avoided by many serious players, and we rescently in Union Leaders to start a program to lessen this effect. for what i can say at this point is:

If u like, or want to test, PvP, do not go to the PvP-zones, but get a friend/SG-mate and do it in the arena, where situations are controlled. once u get the hang of it/or tired u can take the next step into the PvP zones where things are alot less controlled and wild..

regarding ignore.. who listens to lies from a griefer? i dont.. if some1 finds it funny to TP some1 into a drone, his oppinion isnt worth much to me, no matter what he has to say.
  5. A summary of the Meeting can be read Here.
  6. Here is a summary of the meeting:

    1) In order to strengthen and increase the PvP-knowledge on Union server. we are gng to try to let ppl see that there is more to PvP, than ASing stalkers, ambushes and outnumbering destruction. Many ppl fear/dislike the PvP as a whole, after being discouarged in the PvP zones where they feel they have nothing to show for. If a newbie enters a PvP-zone he is in general pretty helpless, since he lack theskills and experience of PvP. Since i7 will increase PvP as a content ('Real' baseraids) we hope to improve ppls interest and by that also prevent Items of Powers, and baseraids from being an 'elite' content. the more SG/VG that put effort into this, the better (andmore fun) it will be overall.

As PvP-zones are rather messy, we have chosen to keep working in the arena. After a few weeks of Tuesdays Arena Training, we are going to try and increase this activity, from a amatuer point of view. The Tuesday arena training will be trying to get more interesting for less experienced players, so that ppl feel they can join without being humiliated. If you have any questions regarding the PvP-organisation and you want to ask questions, and get info. @Kinslayer from BloodLine VG is in charge of this, and will gladly help Any player thats interested in PvP, either Base-raids content or arena.

    2) A major Hero/Villain Costume contest is going to be organized in Pocket D. The Price will be good, since Union Leaders will put together to it. (so ther is no lowbie reward of 10k inf, but a prize ppl of both sides would really benefit from winning)

More details on time and date and which competitions incolved, will be posted soon by @Deluge

    3) Since the release of i6 (CoV), starting and running an SG/VG has become alot more difficult and complicated, this mainly coz of the bases and prestige. For this reason, many of the bigger SG/VG in Union Leaders will be taking on Mentoring Coalitions. This way new SG/VG can get help starting up and avoid the general misstakes ppl do when trying to create a SG/VG. The Mentor-Coalition will also help the new SG/VG with finding Teams, as this is one of the bigger reasons for joining a SG/VG. We hope this will encourage more ppl to start fresh without having concerns on trying to 'catch up' to the biggest SG/VG and prevent them from using bad ways of recruitment, hens increasing quality of the new SG/VG, and also get free promotion along the way.

As of now, most of the big SG/VG will be doing this, so if u have recently started (or planning to) a SG/VG and feel u want help in getting started, contact Union Leaders and we will find a SG/VG suitable for ur needs. the coalition is set to be for 1 month at this point, so that we can constantly add new Coalitions to Mentor. In order to get in contact with Unoin Leaders, contact:
    @.Dr Death
    @Kinslayer
    @Max Powerz

    4) We have also descide to keep the inviting/informing of UL to the public as active as possible. This means members of the UL have to work to inform ppl they come across about UL and what we do, this way we hope to get more SG/VG into our comunity and increasing the quality. spreading the word through coalitions, Official boards, low-lvl teams and at events has been good so far, but we will try to make it more active and have every1 doing this, not just a selective few.

This was the 1st meeting and we are planning to have one again in a month. There was a good turn-out and im glad so many SG/VG leaders out there finds the time and gets involved with this. More good quality SG/VG will in the long run benefit us all with better game-experience and get us more moneys worth. Thank you that came and works for UL to expand and evolve into a great tool for SG/VG.
  7. !! Warning, this post contains friendly insults and RP-segments!!

    gratz u traitor

not sure how we will handle this, since a snitch isnt popular. perhaps u been doubble spying on them, but u should whatch out for stalkers that may assassinate u

na seriously, glad to hear u finally made it.. perhaps u should warm up .Kosmos for i7 soon then
  8. [ QUOTE ]

And don't bother building mission computer, it is useless.

    [/ QUOTE ]

well, we evil ppl can actually use that for the SF, so thats not useless

regarding rent, its based on the total amount of pres it costs+pres in ur pocket, so if u have a base, but dont build anything, the rent will still increase as u earn more pres. (which is kinda stupid) U should consider ur SGs ability to earn pres before starting a base. since when u fail to pay rent, all ur equipment will stop working. i dunno if the rent will add up as well, as u fail to pay on a regular basis.

i do belive rent is payed every 2 weeks, 2 times / month.
  9. hmm.. interesting.. im not saying ur wrong in anyway, but i had real situations that contredict thoose stats a bit...

no problems holding an invul tank with gravity distortion (which ofcourse is a bit stronger than most holds) whith 1 hit and domination. (slotted with 1 hold duration, incase that makes any diff)

same attack failed to hold alot of diff ATs (without domination) that used acrobatics and no break frees or other mez-res buffs.

im guessing Dispersion bubble has about the same res-strength as acrobatics (assumption) and it can withstand 1 regular hold like char or block of ice.

is there a post (or other) where all the Mag-stats can be read?
  10. thx for the tips, tho regarding acro, the KB-res is good reason enough for picking it, and it really have a good effect resisting holds.. Doms wont (might not be true to MC, but the rest) hold u in 1 hit, and even when trollers do hold u, its only for an instant, enabling u to escape death =)

was kinda suspecting nukes wouldnt be strong enough.. good to get it confirmed.

And i also find fly as one of the best travels in PvP, due to the 3D-dynamic.. and i rarely gets killed due to -fly, but still want SS for fast escapes when needed and res slow.

    ty for the input =)
  11. ive been thinking of my upcomming Team-PvP corr, and i have a few questions, and was hoping to get experienced feedback.

    Travel:
SS: good PvP-travel for squishies to outrun ppl that intend to kill me.
SJ: -immobilize(CJ) -KB(Acro) -mez(acro) are very, very good in PvP to have. especially since im the mez-protecor, and cant buff myself.
TP: safest/fastest (?) way to escape death. very clumsy.
Fly: major control, adding 3rd dimension to travel, elusive against many, unless u cant fly, u cant really kill a flyer.

my plan at this point is to get SJ (only for resitans in CJ and Acro) + SS for speed. i would also be able to add fly (since its my fav travel) at lvl 50. can acro/CJ be run simultaniously as fly? if not im thinking of TP for escaping tarpatch, webgrenade and similar

    powers:
Dreadful Wail: is the Nova-like attacks usefull in PvP?
Whirlwind: would this help keeping me alive while buffing team? or isnt it effective enough?
  12. [ QUOTE ]
what are ppls opinions on how the mm shud play? im toying with the idea of completely dropping all primary powers and playing as a dark defender, this wud free up more powers to keep myself alive which is a huge problem as a mm

    [/ QUOTE ]

cant say i agrea on this. the fact that MMs dont stay alive in general is most likely due to lack of movement-skill. at 1st i (as many other MMs) tried to make the AoE-buffs work in PvP, which was a mistake. a squishie cant stand still without using any type of travel against skilled players. Last week showed me that i can stull use he pets as a 2ndary objective (spawn them, butdont waste more than 30 secs buffing them) and only use them as additional firepower. i had their 'Attack' command macrod in with my teams targetting statement, which sent the pets to attack the teams target. I died in general 3-4 times/match (which is alot better than the other squishies we met) and had alot of kills.

I agrea on focusing on 2ndary set, but dont drop the primary. the boosted recharge to upgrades in i7 willallow the MM to use the lvl 32 upgrade on 3 pets, instead of 1 as now. (for robot MMs this is a huge boost, since u can upgrade to AoE rockets on the assault bot and both protector buts get their AoE-Stunn attack which has proven very usefull against 90% of the squishies)

Im not sure on */Dark being the best selection either. The Heal is slow and suicidal in PvP. req. a tohit roll for success. tar patch is usefull tho.. so is darkest night (AoE -acc), fearsome stare (cone fear) and petrifying gaze (hold). here is the diff sets combared by effects:

Dark Maisma: +Heal, -speed, -res, -tohit, -dmg, -acc, +hold, +Fear

    Force Field: Strong +Def, +Knockback, +disorient, +res to mez

    Traps: -fly,+immobilize, -recharge

Poison: -def, -res, -recharge, -speed, +mez resist (whole team res, even the corr), res to slow, strongest Holds (if the info i got is correct). a good set of PvP-debuffs, that could help the team alot.. still unsure tho if debuffs are the way to go.

Trick Arrow: +imobilize, -fly, -acc, -visibility, -recharge, -speed, -dmg, weak hold, -def, -res, +AoE-Knockback. again alot of debuffs.

most sets has alot of effects, cept for FF and traps, tho theese are the 2 i see might wotk good in PvP. traps has webgranade whith -fly, -jump, -recharge, speed and will spite alot of ppl. 2nd power id choose for PvP is detonator. finally a good use of pets lol.. spawn a pet, grant invis, and send him to the controller. dunno the strength of this, but if it can kill/disorient it wouldbe wicked. FF has personal bubbs (loved by all melee) and alot o diff KB's. the ranged AoE toggle knocker (i7) should be handy as well. in my case i find the +Def adding up to the rest of my Def-powers good, making me a very hard target for ATs that lack buildup, rage, aim. this is prolly 1 importan reason to why i survive very good in PvP.
  13. Time: Monday the 15th of may, 7pm GMT.
    Place: Pocket D

We wil be disussing and try to develope a good plan for strengthen the role and awareness of Union Leaders in i7. This is a meeting for SG/VG leaders only. Thoose that arent members of UL, can join in as well (as long as ur an SG/VG leader ofcourse), and see how this community works, and perhaps submit your SG/VG.

It would be nice to see some Hero-SGs represented at this meeting, since we havent as many Heroes, making them a minority

  15. actually, MMs and Doms are very strong, if built/played correct. I played my MM a bit diff this time, almost ignoring the pets, only upgrading the assault bot, more or less. They arent the main dmg-dealers in the team, thats correct, but they are great at finnishing off injured players. i always (if teams a even) end up by the top 3 killers, no coz i deal heavy dmg, but i steal other ppls kills (atleast thats what im suspecting). Pets are fast and wont suffer human weaknesses of battle confusion and disorientation (we all loose sight and direction during fights sometimes, pets dont) and long range attacks with alot of DoTs makes them hard to escape from. I was totally ignoring buffing/upgrading my pets and didnt spend much time setting up, more to buff team. and it worked great.

Doms can be very strong as well... i have a grav/fire dom and has fiery embrace set to auto, this gives me about 40% of the time a 100% dmg buff, making my max-dmg potential very high. deals more than 320 dmg with FE+Dom with Blaze (a toggle knocker in i7 as well ) My DPS is really high and im pretty sure (havent proven it) that my Dom is far more destructive than my blaster-built corr (energy/kin). add the massive dmg-buff from forge and the Dom will be really evil. and since Domination is easier to build up in i7, this would also enable them to get Dom in PvP (i hope lol) and that means 1 hit to penetrate any mez-toggles (except granite), and we can only hope it also overrides powers like thaw and CM lol.

and btw, i made a sonic/Thermal corr yesterday to see if it cant be just as strong (or stronger) for a team as an EMpath. he should be PvP-ready in 3-4 weeks. i7 is the reason for the long time, and i feel i need to lvl up my main+base raid toon 1st =P

yea.. even tho a lvl 50 would make alot more pres/hour than a lvl 20 villain, we actualy have a little more motivation.. playing a lvl 50 isnt as fun as a lvl 20, since th lvl 20 will earn XP and gain powers. im actually impressed that heroes can keep up.

It knows it must outrun the slowest Gazelle or it will starve to death. It doesn't matter whether you are a Lion or a Gazelle... when the sun comes up, you'd better be running"

    [/ QUOTE ]

I would say that this actually nails the PvP-tactics with focused acc + buildup + aim (er.. ok.. i need to play CoX less)

to answer toughguy, i can say that empaths have, if not the best, atleast very, very powerfull buffs, and id be suprised if X_treme dont use tem all.. each of one of tehm will turn any player to a killing machine

here is some buffs comparison Hero (Empath) vs Villain (Thermal)

Clear Mind powerfull resist to mez and great boost to perception. 1 question tho to X, sicne hes got PvP experience on his Emp: will CM protect(or reduce) against toggle drop in PvP, just as in PvE?
Thaw: 30 secs less active time, but will compensate with resist to slow(!!) and that kinda makes up for it imo.

Fortitude: by PvE measuers, this power will really simulate u 1 lvl higher. boosting dmg, acc and def alot. (and with 3 membrane exposures HOs, u can buff it +3 def, +3 tohit, +3 recharge and if i remember correct that will be enough to keep it perma on 3 allies) this power is really awesome.
Forge: will not boost def, but will greatly increase dmg and acc alot more than fort. s i guess its pretty even.

Recovery/Regen Aura: Since Attackrate isnt as constant in PvP, as in PvE, im not sure of the advantage, but it is a massive End-buff that will make team unable to loose end. Regen aura on the other hand will boost the regen rate alot (depends on slotting), and this will really take alot of healing-needs away.
Heat Exhaustion: -regen, -End recovery, -dmg. ive seen this power used verywell in 1 on 1 PvP, and its a killer. Brutes/stalkers/tanks/scrappers are dead as fast as hit with this.. the only way i (almost) survived it was by turning off all shields and select my attacks very catiously.. wasnt enough tho =P really feels like the counter part to empaths regen/rec auras.

Adrenalin Boost: +end, +regen, boosted recharge.. in combo with fortitude, this power will make a blaster/scrapper/tank a vicious killer tahts more or less unstoppable.
Melt Armor: strong -res, -def. combined with heat exhaustion, the target is dead ina few secs. 1 downside here could be that empaths here has buffs, while villains have debuffs, which means u have to hit, so tactics for the corr is needed alot (or alot of +acc insps).

Sum up.. Empaths work as X-treme said.. if u run, u cant die, and empaths prevent deaths. Villains seems overall to have a diff method (im sure its intended for balance) and that is: Its ok to die, as long as u kill more in the process.
Heroes are built to not die, villains are built to kill.. the classic hunter-prey relation. even tho the Gazelle wont get caught, he cant kill the lion. im pretty sure that 2 equally skilled teams would result in villain victory. why? coz all ATs in CoV deals massive dmg. even the doms and MMs can mount up alot more dmg than any troller or defender.
  18. ill be there, coldsparks.. drop a notify before as well in Union Leaders to remind us =P

btw, for al thats showing for the trade-thingy.. i only trade rare salvage or components.. plz take that into consideration when trading.. useless trading echips in 100s across
  19. DR_Death_EU

ok.. many ppl gonna hate this post, but i dont care

(numbers arent exact precise, but about the right amount +/- a few k)

my main has: 680k pres (most in VG, we got several ppl 400k-440k)
my total earning for VG is (all alts put together): 2.45 mill
    VG total: 19.8 mill
  20. i have to agrea with x_treme on this one.. for a PvP-team to be at the top of its performance and be as deadly as possible, u cant have 1 or 2 team-mates focusing on buffs/heals/debuffs. in my old days as an Empath, i could make a team invincible in PvE, but the amount of time and concentration this took, made me more or less passive combat-wise. in PvE this works, coz the Empath dont get aggro, but in PvP they do.

To be effective and alert in PvP, i feel that applying personal bubbs is enough hassle, since team often spreads and moves fast, hunting for targets. 1 or 2 targeted buffs is in my experience (plz correct me if im wrong) the maximum amount u want to waste time with. i would imagine that thermal, sonic, Ice Domination and FF is the 'defending' set of villains choice. not healers, but as a delayer-of-death AT. A brute with +res buffs or a stalker with +Def, sounds wicked to me. the focus on healers is a bit too much i think. it dont matter if u die, as long as u take down a few kills of ur own, before u do. perhaps we should focus mor on trying to boost the killrate of the team, instead of teh survival rate.

    regarding Dark MM:
Dont have a dark MM, but played a dark/dark defender, and i can say that the heal sux in PvP. long animation that immobilize the healer, not good at all. the debuffs are awesome tho for PvP. not sure its as effective when enemy keeps moving fast around and u cant really use the cones and AoEs.. but an additional hold and fear is always nice for PvP. perhaps a more controller type of */dark MM is to prefer?

PL-Begging is not allowed in any form, though PL is accepted, its on a personal level only, and isnt allowed in SG-chat.
  23. [ QUOTE ]
As I said during the training, it makes it very important to have 1 person who targets enemies, and that the entire team listens to him carefully. It's hard to do the targetting properly however, IMO, especially if your one of the squishier chars. Ideally, you'd have a stalker at the stealth cap roaming through the battle doing the targetting.

    [/ QUOTE ]

not sure about the overall oppinion, but i think i handled that particulary task pretty well... i felt i had a good view of the battle and chose targets with love =P

seriously.. i think i see the MMs role a bit better at this point.. i dont use much of powers only my KB at this point, and with the pets up, i had an auto-fire on, enabling me to focus on targets and battle (while the pets did my fighting), instead of actually hitting targets.. perhaps boosted with medic-pool, the villains teams can get that extra heal from a person who focus on team-stats and targeting, and not take precious attention away from teh dmg-dealers...

as Kosmos also pointed out, i was too hard to hit, and not important enough to kill, and that helped me alot when it came to concentration regarding team.. and face it.. MMs do have alot of experience when it comes to direct fire and selecting targets while eluding attacks and hide in the corner

its prety hard to give good reflections of this tho, since its really the team that can rate this the best.. so feel free to comment on this, u that teamed with me.

Ice was very efficient as well.. slow and -fly is really a pain sometimes both when running away from death, and when chasing targets.. so Ice Doms using powerboost would be hell, with the nice dmg they possess (note: on test server now, doms have 6% more dmg on their melee attacks)

Good fun overall.. and glad we had a few heroes to join in as well.. lets keep this going =)

    VG Invites...

well, in i7 we get a 'auto-reject-team-invites' option.. perhaps a similar option would be a good idea regarding SG-invites as well?
