Well, after some time away, I went back to the drawing board and came up with this build. Much easier on the blue bar and cheaper. Downside is I gave up some resistance and all my defense. Thoughts?

This toon has been on the shelf for a while.. Finally dusted him off and looked at his build I came up with on Mids forever ago and to be honest, not sure what to think.
I see alot of things that puzzle me like the steadfast + def which isn't doing much. Probably could use more recovery. I was obviously going for recharge and have 101 without hasten, but is it overkill ( I know, never too much recharge). Went for what were cheap purples at the time, but now not so cheap. $ isn't an issue, but don't necessarily know that I want to make the investment and if I can achieve close to for less, then would consider it.
Anyway, been staring at Mid's so much lately for all the respecs, kinda numb, missing something obvious and could some fresh eyes.

It could also be this could be one of my "buzzed builds" and that is why I can't figure it out. Any and all help appreciated. -
I have a 8800GTX and find that if I stick with the 257 drivers from June, then I have no problems. If I update to anything more recent, then I lock up on exit.
It has been much discussed, with no commmon issue that anyone can point to and say "That's the problem".
Some people can run the latest drivers with no problems, some can't run the newest but can run 258 or 259 with no problems. Others like me have to run 257. This is across all models. 6800s, 8800s, 250s....No rhyme or reason that anyone has found. Annoying for sure, but in the meantime find the set that runs for you and stick with it for now. -

5 reasons why you should buy me
5) You enjoy missions and TFs of steamrolling organized chaos
4) You don't mind a little (and by little I mean potentially alot of) debt
3) You play from 6-9pm Tuesdays and Thursdays and Sunday afternoons CST
2) You enjoy using Fallout and Vengence more than the average person
1) So the degenerates on my global friends list can't -
Let it be known that a small but wealthy group, who wish to remain anonymous for now, will have a substantial, standing bid on every player to be auctioned. If you were worried about not being bid on, you shouldn't. If you were planning on lowballing, you probably need to step it up.
-
Well, rolled back to 257 drivers and it isn't locking up, so at least I can download the I19 prepatch. Still no idea on what's causing it though.
-
I never had it happen till I updated my drivers and up untill now had only seen people with Nvidia cards. When I saw that 260 worked for most, I assumed it must be something with my system, but now seeing that it is an issue with some ATI cards, XP and Win7, I really have no idea.
-
Nope..havent changed a thing. First happened when I updated drivers from 257 to 258 and continues even after 260 and all the updates. I thought that was the issue, but seems like 260 are working for almost everyone, so trying to see what else it could be.
-
Every set of drivers since 257 have caused my computer to constantly lock up on exit and having to use Task Manager to kill the process, Since the new 260 seem to be working for most others, maybe it is something with my system. Any insight would be appreciated.

These are still causing lockup when logging out. Have to kill process in task manager to exit. Guess I'm rolling back to 259 again.
-
Of my 28 toons, none use the 2nd.
Quote:Making rough guesses at what "-ish" and "handful" mean, I come up with 72/1317. Less than 5.5% of characters. Among "Toons", the figure is higher.
Since some people only mentioned thier L50's, figures may be lower.
Among non-forumites, i.e., most of the playerbase, figures are likely lower.
Through 4 pages that is 131/2652 for 4.94%. I also agree with BBQ_Pork that the overall figures are substantially lower. -
There appears to be a problem with the latest batch of drivers as several people including myself had issues after the last update. I'm guessing you downloaded 258. Try rolling back to 257 and that should fix it.
-
I had this same problem with my Nvidia 8800 GTX. I rolled back the drivers to 257 instead of 258 and that seems to have fixed it.
-
Double checked and the disk that came with the card only had drivers and user manual on it. Went to Nvidia and verified drivers were up to date as well as downloaded Nvidea System Monitor and performance, which only tells me the processor and clock speeds, but nothing about ht fans or temp. I cleaned out the inside of my tower which had some dust, but nothing horrible and all my fans are clean and moving freely.
-
It's a couple of years old, but usually install everything. I only see NVidia Control Panel and Nvidea Desktop Manager. Neither of which allows me to view fan speed ect that I can see.
-
-
Since the last update, the game locks up anytime I try to exit. It happens both when I try and exit from the log on screen as well as "Exit now" when logging off. It does not lock up when I exit off a toon back to log in.
I have tried verifying all files, with no luck. Right now the only way I can exit is to terminate the process through Task Manager. Any ideas would be appreciated. -
So...Went back in to make the changes and played around with adding hasten which would more than double recharge to around 140%, which brings me to my next question. How much recharge is too much(other than no such thing). I could then use some of those recharge set bonuses for other things, like maybe recovery or damage and still maintain 33% ranged defense. Opinions? Advice?
-
Thanks Balanced! Nice catch on the Acc IOs. That's why I always like to post a build before going through the hassle of a respec. I always manage to miss something basic.
-
This build was focused on recharge, ranged defense and to hit debuffs. My biggest question is whether or not 34% ranged defense is overkill with the debuffs and if so, how to better utilize those slots. Please take a look and let me know what you think.
