Fire/Elec help- What was I thinking?

This toon has been on the shelf for a while.. Finally dusted him off and looked at his build I came up with on Mids forever ago and to be honest, not sure what to think.

I see alot of things that puzzle me like the steadfast + def which isn't doing much. Probably could use more recovery. I was obviously going for recharge and have 101 without hasten, but is it overkill ( I know, never too much recharge). Went for what were cheap purples at the time, but now not so cheap. $ isn't an issue, but don't necessarily know that I want to make the investment and if I can achieve close to for less, then would consider it.

Anyway, been staring at Mid's so much lately for all the respecs, kinda numb, missing something obvious and could some fresh eyes.

It could also be this could be one of my "buzzed builds" and that is why I can't figure it out. Any and all help appreciated.

Well, after some time away, I went back to the drawing board and came up with this build. Much easier on the blue bar and cheaper. Downside is I gave up some resistance and all my defense. Thoughts?

You should just post the build, not the link. Many people view the boards from work ( like me ) or are on PC's that dont have Mids.


The hard things I can do--- The impossible just take a little bit longer.

Haven't loaded it into Mids, but here are few suggestions based on the slotting.

Char actually does respectable damage. You might want to consider dropping a few damage enhancements into it.

I'd also suggest slotting Flashfire with Absolute Amazement (everything except the proc since it doesn't work) if you have the cash.

Swap Tough and Fire Shield's slotting since Fire Shield's base values are higher.

Are you trying to go for S/L or Melee defense?

I'm not sure what to make of this, but Mids doesn't seem to think the enhancement in Fly is actually improving your speed. Even if that's wrong (and it seems pretty odd), I might consider getting knockback protection from a BotZ knockback in there instead of getting it from something in a resist shield. Or maybe just rely on Domination for that.

Static Discharge gets some benefit from the range enhancement, with the whole longer cone = wider cone thing, but why not use the proc instead in the other two powers? The damage enhancement aspect doesn't seem to add much after ED.

The enhancement levels in Melt Armor seem kind of strange.

Fly is at the speed cap while unslotted. I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but it's currently a waste to slot any sort of Flight Speed enhancement in the power.

I forgot about Fly being at cap, I just stuck the fly enh in it without thinking. Good call on the BotZ and procs in Static Discharge.

I never really spend a whole lot of time fussing over exact levels, which explains Melt Armor.

I originally had Absolute Amazement in there, but was looking at alternate was of slotting, because I have the cash, just don't know how much I'm going to invest in this toon. If I like the finished product, then I probably will.

Good point on Fire Shield and Tough, but does it matter since I am already capped?

As for S/L or Melee, I could go either. I was playing with bonuses to see which I could get and in the process got both. I don't have to be softcapped, but if there is a more effcient way to get one or the other, I'm all for it.

You have Hot Feet and Leaderships. How do you even have blue to make an attack? I was wanting to make a Fire Dom, but Psionic is the only thing i'd pair it with unless i didn't take Hot Feet. Just curious how you keep any blue.

My Fire/Icy Dom works just fine with common IO's, Assault, Hot Feet, and Chilling Embrace. EndRed in not only toggles, but in attacks and controls helps.

Did a fire/earth, and have no issues with end. While I do not run pots, I do use tough, fire shield, assault, and hot feet. It is all about frankenslotting then going for what IO bonuses.
