Quote:Look sorry if the truth hurts but the PB has been an abortion in three forms since its inception years ago. Sure they gave it a bunch of buffs recently but an abortion is still an abortion. They may be capable of some neat tricks, but for the same effort you'd put into those tricks you could have accomplished equal or greater feats with just about any other build using half the endurance, far less than half the IO's and almost half the time.Really? Peacebringers can solo just about every enemy group in the game on 54x8 and even solo up to level 52 AV's (probably higher) without pets or temporary powers. Maybe your Peacebringer just sucks, that seems much more plausible to me. They're not perfect but they are definitely a very solid AT. Luminous Aura is more survivable than the majority of Melee secondaries, and that alone is a huge selling point.
Enjoy yours if you like. Nobody is paying attention one way or the other to a PB doing anything. -

Quote:Truthfully, you should have added "..or INTEREST" to your list of reasons. My guess is that a "true" fix could require some extensive reprogramming they simply don't have the time or resources to devote to, at least right now.
EDIT: Couldn't the problem be fixed by simply removing the melee attack from ranged pets? Why do they even have Brawl to begin with?
I suspect that the reason Masterminds aren't being addressed properly is that there are so few players actually playing Masterminds in the first place. I always suspected one reason the MM class was stuck into the premium tiers when Freedom was introduced was because they figured "Meh, why not put it there....nobody really playing it anyways." -

Quote:The easiest thing to do with leveling builds is just build for SO with ED in mind. This means:most builds I've seen highlighted in these forums are for lvl 50. I'm about to pair Time with a mastermind build and would like to see some usable builds that get me through much of the tedium in leveling--at least until the first respec. no particular focus on melee or ranged pets, but I know some primaries like demon summoning or beastmastery benefit more from taking attack powers rather than robotics and some others.
To sum up, I'm not new to mastermind (robotics/FF) but would like to see some low to mid level builds that put Time to work, which powers I can skip for certain minions, etc. Thanks in advance!
Attacks (Pets in your case): 6 slot with 2 ACC/3DMG/1 ENDREDUX
Debuffs on Time: 4 slot is likely enough for most things. Just choose the one thing you want to enhance and build for that.
Up until lvl 38, you'll be hard pressed to get 6 slots into anything other than your pets anyways.
By 40, you should start investing in IO's for set bonuses. -
Journey started: Level 1 Yesterday 7:22P Central US Time
AE Mission: Fire Cave!
Journey ended: Level 50 Yesterday 11:54P Central US Time
End of story. -
Somewhat depends on whether or not you are one of those "Pure Healer" types. If you are, then I agree with the premise....Empaths just aren't that relevant end-game. If you balanced secondary powers with your primary, then you still have some contributions left to make.
In many ways, a Healer is just like a real-life lifecycle. When you are young and full of energy, you've got a lot to offer. As you age (level) you enter your twilight years and people still carry you along out of respect for the contributions you once made. -
Quote:I don't, not even sure how to do one of those FRAPS things, sorry.Crysis, do you have any frapses of your Bots/Time in action? That build looks delicious but I'm curious to see how it plays, as I generally dislike masterminds.
I can say that it plays very much like a Tank on a team of blasters.
See, I don't personally do all that much damage (like a Tank). But I TP myself straight into middle of spawn in advance of my bots (like a Tank), I debuff and pull aggro (like a Tank) and my Bots open up from range with their blasts and AOE's while everything around me struggles to either wake up or get out of my slow debuffing patch. The Bots eventually close the distance and end up in melee, but by that time, the only thing left alive is the boss, who I've usually debuffed and held by that time.
Its like Tankerminding minus the presence pool. TJ and Distortion Field draw more than enough aggro onto me to get the spawns attention, and my DEF is so high and their TOHIT so low that I just stand there watching everything whiff around me while my Bots take care of the them. -
Quote:Full credit to EnigmaBlack, he presented a pretty decent BM/Dark/Mace build. ~40% DEF to S/L/E/Ranged and 140%+ Global Recharge.Hello all, I have a BM/DARK/Mace, any ideas on how to change out the build above to fit in the Mace mastery and or what are your oppinions of Mace with the BM/Dark. Any help would be appreciated, i have tried to use mids before and it still stumps me so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Quote:Normally I wouldn't post a build that I have yet to play, but this is what I have planned for my BM/DM MM. I have a lot of experience with DM so I'm playing off of that.
I tried to use as many cheap IOs as I could because the Cloud Senses are already expensive, the LoTG I have laying around already.
Remember this is a build just in theory, I have no idea how it will actually play.

The critters do seem to stand around idle a bunch, however. I wonder why nobody noticed this before releasing the set live?

Quote:I'm not sure how you are doing your math but I assure you, I'm most certainly not using inflated numbers. You clearly aren't able to add properly. You need to include Incarnate powers in the MIDS chunk above. Plug in Agility Core T4 and then you'll see everything I've said is true and then some. And I said PowerBoosted Farsight, not perma-Powerboost. All you need powerboost for is to pop it right before hitting Farsight so the +DEF duration lasts the entire time of the buff. I'm guessing you don't really understand how Powerboost works for this to have been an oversight for you? Looking at the rest of your flawed math, it appears you didn't account for it in MIDS. Looks like you forgot that Chronoshift itself offers a +50% Recharge bonus also (which lasts the entire time its active).Crysys, Your perma numbers aren't....
Your short on 3+ seconds on hasten, and 11+ seconds on Chronoshift.
You said perma power boost? Not even close. 33 second recharge for a 15 second duration.
Assuming the one protector bot bubble is on you you just make soft cap in the positions for normal missions. Your still short on soft cap for I Trials. Your only good numbers are smash, lethal and energy.
Unless your talking only the 15 secs power boost is working...most AV fights last a bit longer...
Your passing along inflated numbers...
Proof from in-game stats:
As I stated: PermaHasten, Perma Power-Boosted Farsight, Perma Chronoshift. At 181% Recharge BEFORE Agility, I've already got Permahasten way, way under control. And I've not even added in the -TOHIT from TJ either.
Might want to check your math before calling people out as liars. I may be a biaotch, but I'm a truthful one. I did go back and clean up my original post to correct the PSI DEF number, however. I thought I was a little higher there than in actuality. Still, softcapped to everything but Psi for PVE, without resorting to heavy purple investment, isn't too shabby. -
"Little Red Riding Hood" won't fit in the character name space allocated unless they removed the spaces between each word. I hate it when people do that.
-
I think the best Scrapper new inherent should be a special Prestige sprint called "Swagger." This and by default any trip to the tailor involves a new scaling feature for breast size or crotch lumpage that is far bigger than what can be obtained by all other AT's.
Hey, its about as useful as EG's idea and far easier to implement. -
^^ Not bad! 40%+ to S/L/E/Ranged (higher for a few secs with PowerBoost), which means with your -TOHIT you'll be effectively softcapped to to all of those. 140%+ in both Recovery and Recharge is pretty good as well.
I like this more than the OP's build. The first one posted was softcapped for S/L but everything else was much lower, with recharge only at +50% or so. -
Just saw a creepy clown running around Talos named "Mobile Petting Zoo" LOL
-
Its a tough choice between /Dark and /Time on any MM build. /Time, in my opinion, only has ONE skippable power is Time Stop and MAYBE Temporal Selection. I really hesitate to drop either however as that's the only hold you get in the /Time set (other than chance to hold) and Temporal Selection on your T3 pet is pretty handy. For /Dark, I see two skippable powers, three if you really had to: Howling Twilight, Black Hole and Fluffy.
Yes, I said Fluffy. Do I want to drop him? No I don't. But I'd do so if I found my other primary attacks doing enough stacking to matter. Not sure yet. Black Hole almost everyone skips (with good reason for an MM IMO) and Howling Twilight, even when used as a Stun, is just "meh" in my opinion. I'd rather use Fearsome as my opener instead.
/Time really begs for the Mace Mastery pool so you can grab PowerBoost and the Shield, while /Dark gives you more flexibility in epic/villain pool choices in your 40's.
It is very hard to beat the +DEF you can obtain with a well-slotted /Time MM however. Softcapping everything but PSI for yourself is stupid simple to do with Perma Powerboosted Farsight. Oh and with /Time, you can ignore the Presence Pool for Tankerminding. Times Juncture generates more than sufficient aggro to pull the alpha onto yourself, and dropping Distortion Field at your feet once you've done so keeps them from leaving. -
Quote:Go Bots/Time/Mace MM and you can softcap to everything but Psi in PVE and S/L/E/NE for iTrials. Very easy and inexpensive to do.How do you softcap demon/time? The highest defense I can come up with is 35%.
21% PB'd FS
4% Maneuvers
10% Pet IOs
Are you treating Time's Juncture -tohit debuff as "defense"?
Ice/Time Corrupter was a blast to play as well. Softcapped defense plus TJ and you can tank and drop Ice Storm and Blizzard at your feet. -
I ended up going with "Heavy Petting" for my Beast/Pain MM. I wonder if I'll end up getting Generic'd over that?
-
Make a Plant/Fire Dom first.
Then just stop. There's no other comparison sets out there. -
Well, the build I posted you are softcapped S/L/E for iTrials, which is what you'll run into there. That 65%+ DEF makes it possible to tank the AV's (I have many times). I also get super high recharge @ 181% vs yours at 71%. That makes perma Power Boost and Perma Chronoshift possible, which also jumps my recovery up to 252 vs yours at 195. Mine also is a fraction of the cost of yours. While I have the billions to buy purples, I tend to put those on my other alts (I've literally over 50 level 50's still taking most through iTrials). MM's just aren't worth that kind of investment to me but YMMV...it's your money.
However, I do depend on the Protector bots bubble to get me there, along with the permas and Power Boost (which you didn't take). Your build will get you there without the extra clickety-click that I have to play so its a personal playstyle preference.
As for TP, I never used it as a travel power. It was just used for Tankerminding, as TP'ing into the spawn insta-debuffs the To-Hit of the spawn via Times Juncture (which I never turn off) and forces the Bots to open up their attacks at range. They do some great damage at range and I take the alpha, not them, which is great as I don't get hit. As for Hover/Fly....I don't usually take either these days, but you should double check that all your powers work with Hover on. I think TJ does but not sure and its set defining IMO.
Otherwise, I think you've got a great build. Good luck and have fun with it. Bots/Time/Mace is just begging for nerfage. -
You don't even need purples to softcap Bots/Time.
Below build provides following:
-Softcapped DEF to EVERYTHING BUT PSI for PVE content
-Softcapped to S/L/E for iTrial content
My Bots are 55%+ DEF to everything but Psi (38% there)
The above accomplished via several permas and IO bonuses:
-PermaHasten
-Perma ChronoShift
-Perma Powerboosted Farsight (that's ~22% DEF to EVERYTHING right there...was exploiting Enzymes for ~26% DEF boost, but just put in recharges now, still freaking awesome boost to DEF).
-Several bonuses from IO's
-The shield from Bots
I've not even added in the -TOHIT (which is virtually same as +DEF) from TJ.
Although you will get a boost from the Protector shield, with the -TOHIT of Times Juncture, you really won't need it to softcap.

Ok I'll try editing.
I'm doing Knives of Vengeance now and getting my *** handed to me. I really need to drop all SOs and get some defense. -
...until you can't use it.
I've got a Dark/Fire/Fire at 50 and just started Incarnates. I'm really struggling with hitting softcap for Ranged or Melee on this toon. Since I took the Fire epic I only have a resistance shield.
I know how to slot my Fire secondary well coming from a stable of other /Fire doms. But I just can't figure out the best sets to help me pick up some defense on the Dark primary.
Any suggestions? -
Quote:Wow....Beast damage is that poor? Hyperbole aside, please describe this further?
If you absolutely must play this set, something that amplifies your damage is probably going to go a LOT further than anything that keeps your Beasts alive. Because your Beasts are arguably garbage useless pieces of data because their individual damage is worse than a Controller spamming Boxing.
