  1. I'll put 100mil inf on the 10:1 odds. I think he can do it. He's just gotta make it to burn.

I tend to think of Yusuke as the main character and the others as sidekicks.
  3. 'Looks over at Sephiroth figurine on the computer desk.'

Rather than argue his quality as a villain I'm just gonna state that I disagree with sephiroth be listed as a bad villain. Saves yall the FF7 fanboy wall-o-text argueing for and the inevitable wall-o-text point by point rebuttal.

My entry for lame villian goes to the elder toguro brother from yu yu hakusho. On a scale from "Take over the world (top)" to "Eats newborn babies and ***** poison (bottom)" he's pretty close to bottom on deplorable actions but he constantly gets chumped by non-main characters. First he gets beaten by Kuwabara and then later on gets locked in tree that will torment him for eternity by Kurama.

My other entry would be the people who added unbaptized babies as enemies in Dante's Inferno on the ps3. Whats next the sentient zombie corpse of a Greek god's aborted fetus?
  4. The only thing I don't like about them is their phasing. Other than that they are pretty much tissue paper to most of my characters.
  5. The Labyrinth from the movie Labyrinth. Mostly because I really like mazes and Jareth made one hell of a maze.
  6. Since this thread has become a recipe thread here's one.

    Spiced Mocha Mix
    1 cup sugar
1 cup nonfat dry milk powder
    1/2 cup powdered non-dairy creamer
    1/2 cup cocoa
    3 tablespoons powdered instant coffee
    1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
    1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    dash of salt

Mix it all together and then store in an airtight container.

For a single drink use 3 tablespoons of the mix and 3/4 cup hot water.
If you need a huge pick me up put 3 tablespoons in with your cup of coffee. <-- What I do.
  7. I rolled up a scrapper in Praetoria just to get a feel for kinetic melee and ended up getting caught up in the missions. Three hours later I finally check what time it is. I didn't even intend to take the character that far. I just got into the story that much.

I just wanted to say congratulations on making such involving content.

Now I've got to go make the mastermind that I actually wanted to run through the story with.

I can already see the McBat Special coming out of this. Oh Gods.
You forgot the Bat Fries, the Utility Melt, and the Cowl Cup.
  9. Okay.. At least District 9 was better than the Star Wars Christmas Special. I dare you to find a way to explain that it was worse.
  10. At least District 9 was better than Battlefield Earth. I didn't notice any over-acting or wonky camera angles in District 9.
  11. @ the thread:

Thank you. I tried making tea the way described here and found it tasty.
  12. Has anybody read the books Darth Bane is in? Ive read some of the other stuff but I actually really enjoyed those three books. Maybe its that its main character is not in the movies and the plot is far removed from the events in the films? I don't know but I do know I liked them.

    Empathy - healing buffer
    Dark - healing debuffer
    Force Fields - non-healing buffer
    Trick Arrows - non-healing debuffer

Traps is a mixed buff/debuff set.

BTW - two Empaths on a team can AB each other and keep everyone else double Fortituded and provide 24/7 Regen and Recovery auras. Chances are they won't, but their contribution can be much greater than two trick archers in my experience, if they do this. Which is a big if...
This ^^. My dual box empath/sonics were built from the start to work with each other. The SG I've been playing with didnt understand why I was building two empaths at the same time until they teamed with me. Perma AB plus perma RAs through alternating them and double forting people for 46% defense and about 58% to-hit makes a very overpowered team. Also helps that I run Leadership toggles on both.

To the OP the best blast set I've seen for defenders is sonic. It has one of my favorite secondary effects, 20% damage resistance debuff, on nearly every attack power. Also for the late game it has Siren's Song, a very long duration sleep that affects minions and lieutenants. Not very useful in a team but solo its a godsend and make no mistake there will be times when you can't find a team. Either way have fun and dont focus on your teamates health too much as a trapper. That and use seekers to absorb the alpha strike from mobs when you get them. The AI in the game isn't to smart and will waste its more powerful attacks on something thats about to blow up.
  14. Just expanding on Oliin's thought that would likely require recoding all of the single target blaster powers. Add a 5% chance of extra damage into targeting drone that affects all single target atacks. The extra damage would be a dot over 3-5 seconds that would add up to about the same damage as a single target teir 1 blast. Not sure if making the damage enhanceable would be overpowered but if you code the damage into all the blaster attacks with a check to see if TD is on then you could just let the damage enhancements in the power affect it. You could even have a little message pop up when the damage procs and call it vital strike or something like that. Of course its a coding mess and would probably cause Castle a ton of frustration.

    AoE lawnmowers

Though the AT wasn't designed for it Spines stalkers can unleash a nasty bit of aoe. Also from my own toon stockpile I'll add my plant/storm troller at 50% global recharge.

Edit: If your dual boxing or have a friend, a green machine team, two emp/sonic defenders, is one of the hardest combos to ever beat. They trivialize +4/x8.
  16. It may just be me but I'd like more epic scenery and music for my AV fights. Something like a AV who planted explosives in an elevator, when the elevator reaches the top of the building it will explode killing everyone inside, and the AV has the remote that can stop the elevator so you gotta knock him out to live. Or how about a short 1 mission trial during the rikti invasion event where you have until the end of the invasion to finish the mission.

    So....Stamina

I have a plant/storm troller. Fun combo isn't it. Also chews through your endurance bar fast huh. The trick is recovery bonuses aren't going to mean as much as max end bonuses will. Your base recovery is a percentage of your maximum. If your maximum increases so does your base. Recovery bonuses affect the base recovery so by increasing your max you benifit more from stamina and your recovery bonuses. One of the best sets I can recomend if you have a place for it is entropic chaos. Its a ranged damage set lvl 20-35 and its 4th and 5th set bonuses are +2.25% max end and 6.25% recharge. Theres also Decimation but I like Entropic Chaos more because it has a heal proc and its cheaper.
  18. Just a small quality of life suggestion but can an option to buy exp with merits be added. Not a large amount but something like 1/100 of the amount of exp needed to level per merit. Another way of stating that would be 1/10 of a bar. Seems like a good idea to me.
  19. I like the game a lot more when I'm playing with teams and am in an SG. You might try looking for a large SG. Just go to the sg registrar in city hall and look up the top 100 SGs. Most of them have a description posted in there. Find one you like and then be on the lookout for 1 of their members and ask them if they are taking new members.
  20. Semi-serious - Is there anyway to edit the in game music so that the theme from Independence Day plays whenever you get near the Mothership?

Ya I doubt that it'll get much attention but it was neat idea and it was fun to make it.

After watching that I think I know a bit more of the problems that CoH has with gaining and retaining new players. Our tutorial isnt very in depth, its more of a story lead-in then a this is how this game works explanation. Perhaps there should be additional optional tutorials avaiable to players via city hall in Atlas that provide a more in depth explanation of what zone events are, the various enemy groups, and other assorted things that would be confusing to new players. Maybe make a Hall of Records that acts kind of like an in game Paragon Wiki.
  23. Why not have one of the more popular website game reviewers do a review on the finished product. Some one like Zero Punctuation from escapistmagazine.com. Of course that might be a double edged sword since he could honestly dislike it but I know that I check out his newest review every week and sometimes check out a game because the review got me interested enough.
  24. Okay now that its been adjusted and made a bit more sane here is my thinking behind the set. My idea was to mix traditional damage mitigation with less traditional mitigation as well as some more offense. The first 4 powers are similar to what you would find in stalker defense secondaries.

Smoke Grenade has two functions. It debuffs to-hit giving you and your team more defense and it also debuffs perception which lets your team sneak up with you. Whats worse than the stalker you don't see? The brute that managed to sneak into melee range without a shot being fired.

Surveillance lets you increase your burst damage at the start of the fight.

Trip mine with the changes I proposed lets the stalker with this secondary if he has enough time blitz a group all at once. Of course most teams will not let you take the time to set up more than 1 mine. Some may not even give you the time to set 1.

The holographic decoy works both solo and in teams. Solo you pop the decoy out in the middle of the group, AS a target, placate a target(even in teams the aggro wont go anywhere the decoy should be next on the aggro list), AS or crit another one. In teams the decoy can soak an alpha strike letting a stalker off tank when he needs to.

The Adrenalin Shot acts like a full heal over time. When the heal is fully enhanced the regen it grants would provide nearly a full bar of health over 20 seconds. Additionally the added recharge that the power grants would let the stalkers melee attacks recharge faster. The idea I had was that this power would have many uses from I need a rest but don't want to take a knee to I'm in over my head.

I tried to make the set have enough mitigation to survive and enough utility to make up for its lack of direct mitigation. I doubt that anything resembling this set would ever make it into the game but it was a fun mental excercise. Thank you for the help and for your time.
