The markets do not give out Day Trader/Marketeer, EVEN THOUGH they show the icon.
The pocket d battle terminals do not give out Duelist.
Studio 55 does not give out Clubber.
In the case of the train stations and police stations, these badges seem to be withheld because they are only Hero badges, while all the dayjob badges that can be awarded in Praetoria are common to both heroes and villains. Since none of the tailors in Praetoria have 'shops' I can also forgive the lack of Fashion Designer badge availability, just as the tailors in Pocket D and RWZ do not award it. Likewise, the Battle terminals in Pocket D have never awarded Duelist to heroes or villains, so I cannot see why they would award it to Praetorians.

The Auction House in Imperial does, IIRC, award Day Trader. Vendors have never awarded progress for that badge in any location.

Studio 55, IMO, really should award Clubber progress, but there is nothing stopping Praetorians from making one more click to enter Pocket D, so it doesn't bother me TOO much.

If anyone confirms or denies Mortician, let us know!

One follow up: I specifically TRIED to get Day Trader in Underground Imp as I mentioned. The icon shows, but I get no credit when I log back in. So, it sounds bugged for me, but maybe there is a specific spot I should stand. Any suggestions? Perhaps related - when I logged back in I came out of the door next to the traders (the icon still showed, but no progress listed - I was offline for over 21 days).
I have not confirmed Mortician in Imperial, but I have confirmed Mortician in First Ward.

I have also confirmed that underground triages give the icon for Caregiver/Pain, but do not award credit for them.

FYI, Badge-Hunter / VidiotMaps has added notations to each map showing what day jobs can be earned and where. These notations are not found (at least by me) on the maps the display online, but they are on all the map-pack overlay maps.

  3. As a guy who has a number of female toons, I find it infuriating that so many good parts are only available on male and huge bodies.
  4. As many costume parts as possible, but in particular the chest detail eyeball and ANY piece that has feathers. I'd prefer these to be in-game unlockable, but making a VIP Tier 9 set of pieces would still work for me.

My main toon's Incarnate powers from Rularuu, and while I've made him look as Ruu as possible, his evolution into an aspect of Rularuu ought to be at least as ruu looking as the Rulu-shin.
  5. I have to agree, would be nice to have a way to acquire this CCE out of season. Spring Fling costume pieces can be unlocked after the season by saving the mission from DJ. Winter emotes / costume pieces can be unlocked at various points throughout the year, as the Ski Chalet does occasionally enjoy out-of-season visitors (and candy canes can be bought & sold via auction houses).

Known new powersets on the way include Titan Weapons and Bo-Staff.
  6. Bad Idea: Learning to play CoH with higher level Friends with your lvl2 scrapper by letting them PL you to 50 in AE.

Good Idea: Hosting a player-run Costume Contest in Atlas Park.
  7. There are dayjobs which, while you can earn credit towards them as a vigilante, you cannot actually recieve until you go villain or rogue. Once you return to hero or vigilante, you will retain those badges, though with different names (for example, the Black Helicopter dayjob badge is called PILOT for red alignments and GROUNDED for blue alignments).

I agree. I was somewhat bothered that the Vanguard Pack is available through the Market, since those items (outside of the MVAS) can be acquired in-game via Vanguard Merits.
  9. I am quite fond of the Rulu-Shin, and I'd love to see the eyeball costume pieces made available to players, perhaps add them to the unlockable details that come with defeating 100 Overseers, or other such tasks.

No, I'm not just saying that because my main toons have already recieved that badge... probably.
  10. I should be there... as one of the PERC reps.

[EDIT: No, I will not be there. I will be working that night. :-( ]

Yes, 6 slots open for free... but that simply means that of the 5 slots I paid for (I do have other toons besides VEATS), one of them is inaccessible on my VEAT.

So, since I HAVE already purchased 5 slots, and my VEAT has already turned in Halloween Salvage and unlocked the L10, L20, and L30 costume slots (making 10 the total number of slots I currently have), is there any benefit for that toon to doing the L40 costume slot mission?

No, they do no have to be villains. Yes, anyone CAN play them as heroes... as long as they have access to that AT.

  15. I made a standard Male toon (defender) after i21 went live, and decided to make the second costume slot female (I have Super Tailor access). The body change looked normal, but it only gave me Male faces (and a Male Head to wear them), and then it gave me Male patterns to wrap around the Female Upper Body. Needless to say this made for some Rule-Breaking combinations.

When I tried to purchase this new costume with a Free Costume Token, it consumed my token but did not give my toon the costume; Slot 1 was still filled with a duplicate of Slot 0.

I have witnessed many other examples of Male / Female costume clashes since i21 went live, but none of them have lasted outside of the costume creation phase.

Perhaps Hero Corps missions could be vigilante or rogue oriented, rather than straight hero. We already have the police band radio for those kinds of missions, and the fact that you Hero Corps does 'hero for hire' work is exactly what blue-side Rogues are supposed to be about, is the Tips are to be believed.
  17. Like some of the others here, I use Kin Melee as a Kung Fu / Chi power set, as on my toon PowerBall Z, but I also do the 'vampire' bit with it, as on Kavik the Ghoul Boy.

Kinetics I have also used as a super-speedster set (FastBlack) and as both Luck Manipulation and Water Manipulation (Unlucky Jack, different purpose in different costumes).
  18. Sure, I took fencing, but I was more interested in Conan the Barbarian than the Dread Pirate Roberts, so I learned the art of swordplay from a SCA group that meets in Gemini Park. Well, met in Gemini Park, until the Shivans came. It was then that I learned my mentor worked for Vanguard, and he hooked me up with some high tech hardware so I could help get civilians out of harms way. I was never any good with a shield though, so I snagged some electrically charged body armor and a two-handed sword they'd reverse-engineered from Rikti weaponry and had a grand time destroying Shivans. Guess I impressed a few people, too, because an Arbiter approached me and asked if I'd like to help clear the shivan menace out of Oceanview. I get to fight alien zombies AND get paid for it; this is the life!

    Big Problem

From the screen you showed, you can access the Menu tab, and near the bottom is Options. This opens a window with a tab for Graphics and Audio settings. Ensure Advanced Graphics Settings (Ultra Mode) is disabled, lower all the graphics-related slider bars to 'minimal' settings, and save.

If this gets you some in-game visuals, play with the settings till you get the best possible look without going over the top into black-out mode. It's unlikely you will be able to use Ultra Mode if you have any graphics issues, but the game looks fine without Ultra Mode anyway.
  20. I made a DS/ Storm Summoner some time back, and was determined to use only the whip powers from Demon Summoning. Over a year later the character still hadn't reach L20, and was a liability to every team I ran with. Two weeks ago I respecced with demons on the menu, and the character works just fine.

I can summon the demons, place them in passive and leave them at the mish door, but when I didn't have even the possibility of demons, it was far too fragile and below the power curve on damage.

Or make that an option in Power Customization. Or a temp power.

What I'd love to see is a custom head along the lines of a Jack-O-Lantern, but gaving the toon NO VISIBLE HEAD AT ALL. Headless Horsemen, Invisible Men, Arnim Zola, and handfull of yokai and ghosts all could benefit from such a costume feature.
  22. My natural psychic gifts proved very useful at times, and seemed like a curse at others, but when I started helping the police solve cases that no one else could crack, I found myself in the line of fire far more often than any parapsychologist should. Instead of giving up and retreating to the safety of my home, I learned how to fight back. As a skilled medium I ain't afraid o' no ghosts, and with my AK-47 I'm a fair match for any punks that try to stop me too.

  23. This game is VERY player-friendly. A lot of folks might say that support ATs don't level fast on their own, or that you won't survive with only DPS, but really, there are so many ways to play any given set of powers, there are no wrong choices.

The only time that may not apply is with PvP, but PvP is a pretty small part of the game, and almost non-existent on many servers. And if you are looking to have a build that's good for PvP, this game allows you two different builds (three, once you become an Incarnate) so even that shouldn't interfere with playing the majority of game content your own way.

    Welcome to the game.

When you go to check out, the item will be in your list as though you could purchase it. Once you tell it to pay the PP required, it would stop you and inform you that you are exceeding the allowed limit on one of your items. If you are trying to buy more than one thing at a time, it does NOT tell you which item you cannot buy.
  25. The Cult of the Fuzzy Bunny Slippers is a Villain Group that doesn't focus too hard, but it kinds of squints every now and then on light, fun RP. We require absolutely nothing of our members; even running in SG Mode is optional. However, we do organize SFs, offer at least the basic amenities one looks for in a VG Base, and often wind up RPing in public areas, espousing the glory of the slippers.

If curious, contact @Java Bean or @Kavik in-game for an invite, base tour, coalition, or dirty limerick.
