  1. I lost three slots too, on Virtue. They were all vet rewarded slots. I'd probably be upset if they'd been slots I paid for.

I'm pretty sure this will be dealt with soon, though.

    A quick guide to Darkness

The MM Dark secondary is awesome. Although it's more thematically tied to Necromancy or Ninjas, a Robot/Dark Mastermind is the pinnacle of awesomeness. Fitting it into your character concept is difficult, but not impossible.

Nanite clouds. This is what I came up with for a robot/dark MM I made, on a server I don't go to very often, admittedly!

But, yeah. It's not necromancy or dark magic. Those are nano assemblers, and your robot/cyborg body manufactures them.
  3. I disagree with regards to trip mine. My MM has it and it works very well in certain situations. Especially against some EB's and AV's in particular. You plant a lot of them at a choke point, and have your bots stand out of sight. Get a bot to pull aggro, then wait for them to come to you.... BOOM! They fall down, and then you let them have it.

    Usually works pretty well.

EDIT: I should note, that in the time it takes to deploy the max number of trip mines before they expire, you can also lay down two to three poison traps. Those WILL go off the same instant the mines do. And your foe will be down a big chunk of HP to boot. Sic your bots on 'em and put down the acid mortar.
  4. My level 50 MM is also Robots/Traps. I have ever primary power and a little more than half the traps powers (FF generator, acid mortar, detonator, trip mines... and something else I can't remember right now, haha). Aid Self, Aid Other, Resuscitate from the Medicine pool. Maneuvers, Assault and Tactics from the Leadership pool. And Hover and Flight from the Flight pool.

I took absolutely no Patron powers. After studying all the Patrons and their powers, I didn't think any of them were really all that much. As such, I chose Scirroco as my character's patron for thematic reasons (to my Mastermind, he seemed like a big pushover... and after doing his arc, it turned out that was right!).

My Robots/Traps MM is a juggernaut. I chose IO sets that gave bonuses to recovery, so now she does not suck wind when summoning and buffing the robots. I stuffed the Luck of the Gambler and Gaussian's Fire Control sets into Leadership, and I intend to replace the IO sets in all the robot summoning and pulse rifle powers (all of them six slotted) with Orange and Purple sets...

    Phew!

First impression - That's... actually pretty cool.
Second impression - if they dare to take out the sweet sweet sound of my Rain of Arrows I will punch a kitten.
Third impression - Thank $Diety for April Fool's Day.

Honestly though, if X-Ray Eyes from the rad blast set actually announced PEW PEW LAZ0R BEAMS! every time you used it, I would laugh so hard...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Better yet, instead of reporting "X-Ray Eyes is still recharging" in the combat window, it said "I'm chargin' mah lasers! WOOP! WOOP!"
  6. Oh, this is better than that CoH vs. Capcom game I heard was coming out.
  7. I'm pretty sure that "Freem" has by now been taken as a name on every server, if it wasn't taken already!

What I first thought about was "glowies". I was thinking if this isn't a joke, what will they do, have a big Beep Beep Beep flashing above them? Then I thought, what if one was invisible, is there a chance the text could be invisible, god that would be so awful, searching for a glowie that you can't hear and can't see and can't read. LOL, I realized before finishing reading it that it was April Fools Day and that this was all a joke. While I think some of it could be cool, I think on a team of 8 it would get very annoying, especially if its a team of 8 Masterminds, god that would be a lot of text.

Obviously, they'd have to use Don Martin onomatopoetic sound effects.

Ken Morse, the Lead Artist on the title was excited. “It’s going to be a lot more work for our department, but I think the end results are totally worth it.” He said. Players can optionally disable the Visual Sounds in the options menu, but are encouraged to keep them on, as all the sounds in the game are being removed to make room on the players’ hard drives for the new Visual Sound graphics

    [/ QUOTE ]

sounds good for people that play with sound off... but alot of people use the sound as a marker to fire off next power.. and also it adds an element of excitement when in a big battles. lastly the comic fan will think its cool. but the action gamers might not like the idea of no sound too much.

I think it shold be 3 options for sound
    1) sound on
    2) sound off with visual sounds
    3) sound off without visual sounds

    [/ QUOTE ]

another?! still people don't know its a joke

    [/ QUOTE ]

Some people can't recognize a joke unless there's huge blinking neon signs saying "This is a joke and it is not true". Usually, that's enough for them to make a funny face and ask "is this a joke?" And then you have to tell them "yes, it is a joke". And then you have to wait for their expression to change as the little gears inside their head whirl for a few moments, and then they start to laugh!

    EDIT: And also, FREEM!
  10. DWAYNE!!!

(Yeah, looks like the CoH devs weren't the only ones thinking of this today!)
  11. Having a level 42 Dark/Regen Scrapper as well as a level 50 Elec/Dev Blaster, I'm on both sides of this argument!

    Pardon my reposting of this...

Some of the female costume parts

Wow, you could SO make a Zatanna like costume using some of those costume bits. Huzzah!

34 yr old gamer here. Fond memories of a lot of things said here. HUGE Underdog fan. Definitely watched Wonderwoman for something other than the plot. Just wondering why no one has mentioned Stretch Armstrong. I can remember pulling that thing for all it was worth with my brother and not doing it any harm. Then I left it on my bed in the sun and the next time we played with it .... pink goop everywhere! Boy, did we get a whoopin' for that. Thanks for the trip down memory lane guys, I actually read all 44 pages!

    [/ QUOTE ]

I didn't like Stretch Armstrong as a kid. I had a very large collection of Micronauts though. I'd always build large plastic metropolises connected via rocket tubes. It was awesome.
  14. [ QUOTE ]
Well, Cryptic went for the double up the geometry method. It used to be that people with teleport could occasionally find their way down there.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'd like to see screenshots of that!
  15. Man, why's everyone so down on a PS3 version of CoH?

    I think it's really cool.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
Personally (I play CoH by the way), I'm much more likely to send a recruiting tell to a hero named 'Soul Siren' with a search message saying 'sonic blaster looking for a good team' than I am for a hero named 'nightmare murderkiller' with a search message that says 'pick mE NOW i need XP to lvl today'.

    [/ QUOTE ]

My level 50 MasterMind's search message is "Cake or Death". What would you think of that?

    Hyperbole FTL, IB.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    QFT

Sorry, IB. Your post was one big mass of exaggeration.

    [/ QUOTE ]

While I'll agree that his post was a bit much, I also have to point out that not all of us have gobs of money to spend to create powerful systems that don't lag the heck out when you do things like teleport around.

I mean, huzzah to the people who have high end video cards, gobs of RAM and a solid high speed connection all the time. Ok, I actually have that last one and I'm planning to get an entirely new computer so that I can teleport in places like Grandville without dropping from the sky before I have a chance to react.

Just that, you know, not everyone is so lucky.
  18. You guys rock.

Who says the devs don't listen? Here's proof that they do!

I already know I'm gonna be using this at least once.

    Rock on!
  19. [ QUOTE ]
I'm not ornery or hateful, I'm just pointing out that many people are annoyed by having to see a character bio everytime somone types 'lol' or any other non-team-finding-related comment.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's an exaggeration. A name, archetype and level are hardly a "bio". Your implication is that you're being flooded with pages of useless info each and every time someone uses this macro. It's been subsequently shown to you that the information can indeed be useful, though you've chosen to ignore this fact because you can't get over being annoyed by two words and a number.

    [ QUOTE ]
Having spent some time asking people not to use aforementioned binds and not getting results, it's infinetly easier and faster to put them on global ignore.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This says a lot more about you than the people you're whining at. As I said before, to ignore people out of hand in this way is very anti-social behavior, against people who mostly only want to be helpful and share. Do you fly off the handle like this with every other little thing that annoys you? And I'd dare to speculate that you have a lot of things that annoy you.

    [ QUOTE ]
There's no reason to insult someone simply because they have an opinion different than yours.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hypocrisy for the win! First you demonstrate how annoyed you get over rather trivial things (that are helpful and harmless), not to mention being rather vociferous about it in a helpful and social thread, and then you become "insulted" when someone points out your rude behavior.

Humans. You know I like them!
  20. [ QUOTE ]
Personally, I find it very annoying when people do this, and /gignore anyone that does. I don't need to know your level/arch/powersets/whatever every time you say something in a global channel. It throws off formating and can make it difficult to pick up what people are actually saying when I have to skip the first half line of chat.

If people really do care what character you're on, they will either have /gfriend'd you, be in the same sg, or just ask. In any of these cases it's extremely easy to find out who somone is on as.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Your global ignore list must be rather huge. I'm art of group lists where almost everyone does that.

Hating everyone who does this out of hand like that... sounds rather anti-social to me.

I suggest perhaps that you use "*" as your ignore expression.
  21. The last time we taunted LR to the boat, the Longbow there only intermittently aggroed to him. Most of the time they just stood there like nothing was going on. Meh.
  22. Growing pains.

The comic may yet come back, when they are able to really support it. So may everything else they have tried to give us so far. I'm not convinced that they do not care.
  23. When I built my dark/regen scrapper, I had no thought to PvP at all.

When I took her into Warburg, another scrapper suddenly started attacking me while I was taking in the scenery. I believe he was MA/SR.

Turns out we were evenly matched. We stood there fighting each other for something like 10 minutes. Realizing it was either going to continue to be a stalemate or take a very long time for one of us to defeat the other, he disengaged.

    I was very amused.
  24. So there's no raid tonight? I don't have to duck out of work early?
