Aren't you supposed to be there ?? I mean if BaBs is there, doesn't that mean you will be there? Seeing as you two are one in the same?
(Some jokes just can't be allowed to die)

Sorry Michelle,
I am looking for either qualified Locksmith Techs or someone who has apptitude and can be trained. After having to discharge an employee for Major Insubordination, we are now forced back into the field of "looking".

Clearly, the answer is the Mod's need to nerf cred.

Whoa....
I admit I don't follow Mod8's postings, but isn't it traditional for him to lock a thread once he posts something in it???
I must say.. I am quite impressed (well not really but I wanted it to sound good) that he just posted like a regular poster and didn't lock the thread!
Way to go Moddy ole boy! -
The Kat is made of 100 % awesome!!
It is either that.. or she really hates playing alone and is willing to even team with LHF just to not have to solo hahaha.
Seriously though.. I think Kat is great. -

I'm staying.
Though I'm sure nobody cares; just like I don't really care that people are leaving.

But Dan.. do you care that some people are staying???
Inquiring minds want to know -
Man sorry to see you go Smoke and Ele.
You two were really vocal and upstanding people of the Justice Community.
Wish you would have changed your mind and stayed.
Best we can do now is to.....
Talk about you behind your back so to speak *cause you can't talk back* hahaha. Maybe that would make you re-sub just to be able to say things
Seriously you two, re-sub already and get back in the game!!!
Posi is really sorry, he just can't come and say so in person.
Something about Marketing people won't let him
We *ALL* want to say when you come back.
Welcome back, no more leaving
In our best "smoke" voices that is -

It all depends on how you define "celebrity."
If I were to define it as people with whom I've played and the experience was memorable (good or bad), it would be one list; if it was to be defined as most notables (just hanging out or seem to play whatever whenever), it would be another list.
In no particular order: LivingHellfire, MissInformed, LaserJudas, LaserJesus, Police Drone X9, Philly Girl, TicToc, Abraxxus, Katfood, Thor's Assassin, Fanny, Kadmon, Quatermain, Goober, Arwen Darkblade, Doug The Troll, Hard Rock One, Blu J/Blue Science, Darkbridger, Jala, Talia Rayvyn, Kensei, Manoa, MikeHoncho.
Most notables seen playing on Justice: BackAlleyBrawler (as himself?) tanking a Babbage GM (in Skyway City) for a group doing the Synapse Task Force. (He wasn't doing the Task Force, just tanking the GM.) I just remember Speed Boosting him to TANK FASTER, BABs! =)
Folks whom I miss the most? MissInformed, Illusionism, BLACKFIRE, Capt Omega, FrostBites and Pragon.
Thank goodness I'm a nobody.
+4.0 Notoriety to BackAlleyBrawler
+0.01 Notoriety to everyone else mentioned in this message.

HEY!!!
I JUST realized that I haven't seen MissInformed around lately???? Did she quit or something????
I would have named many of the above already named people. -
Manoa,
It is with sincere wishes that you remain among us here on the game.
You have always been very active within the game and within the forums. It is understandable that the current market may cause you to withdraw for a bit, but I do hope that you end up staying.
A wish from all of us would be that you decide to stay, and if I might add, those that are leaving change their minds and decide to stick it out.
Doing so if for no other reason than to tell those that make decisions.. You will not go quietly into the night! -
I would just like to mention Sassy for the 'honorary firefighter' award at this time.
Her efforts while noble and courageous *were* doomed from the start we are sad to say.
For she faced off against the Justice Server Insanity Club.
Yes, that is right folks, she faced off against 'Just S.I.C.' and had no hope of winning
It should also be noted that this thread has remained unlocked and all inside it should be proud of that accomplishment.
Perhaps the 'Just S.I.C.' logo should be trademarked for our server as well. -
This is a quick reply.
To those that are indeed canceling or going to cancel their account(s), I would merely suggest to wait with that decision to see how the events truly unfold.
If pacted characters are restored, bans get unbanned etc, then perhaps it will be worth it to those involved to stay and enjoy the game as they have before MA ever came into being.
Nothing can be done about the statements that Positron made. He is the lead designer, but he doesn't state company policy. As he has eluded to a few times, the producer is the real power behind CoH.
Were those statements made at the behest of the Producer, or were they made from Positron himself? No one knows and the distinction isn't that important.
What seems to be more important is the heavy handed draconian approach that was taken.
I may be wrong, but I think some of the characters have been or will soon be restored. The accounts have or soon will be unbanned.
If I am correct in this, that should leave us with these:
1 - The inability to discuss such actions.
2 - The unclear nature of what is a violation.
3 - The actual actions of the CS department.
I may have missed some, but that seems to be the big issues.
No one enjoys being told they have to accept something they don't like and then being told they can't even discuss it.
However, perhaps there would be a way to discuss things providing a positive attitude and healthy approach to them.
Perhaps an answer to this is to not directly discuss "Z" got deleted because of CS. But instead discuss if the general direction of a game can be considered well thought out, and positive regarding the public's view of a game.
So long as no direct references to CS or the like are made, and some good positive ideas are brought out, that might turn out to be a good thing. A nice healthy discussion of customer feedback versus no feedback.
To the idea of something being unclear, that is such a broad based subject that I don't know if there is any way to give good feedback on that. There is no way for anyone to give a list of what is good or bad. The moment a list is developed, the next second there will be someone who does something just outside that list thinking a game company will not take action. I believe we should go with caution on that subject myself.
The CS department can only do what it is instructed to do. There seems to be some good people in there. I think, through persistance and with good intentions, most any error can be corrected with them. Escalation might have to be involved, but should prevail.
I guess the basics of this long winded post would be to ask the people who are or will soon leave to reconsider that choice.
In the scheme of things, this is only a small bump in the road versus the glaring implementation debacles known as GDR and ED. We survived them, hopefully those involved will reconsider and survive this as well.
-Cos -
I received mine on launch day.
Have to say it is nice being able to choose the travel power at 6. -
Is it possible to use a clockwork 'gear' and give it different powersets?
I can't seem to make that idea work when using cutom mobs because naturally the character creator doesn't support that small of a size character.
So is there a way to modify the gear itself? Giving it the powers I want it to have for a mission? -

Yeah, but I'm pretty sure if I had posted a new topic about how lighthouse sucked that would have been frowned upon.
[/ QUOTE ]
If Lighthouse 'sucked' as you say.
Then he 'sucked' no more or less than CuppaJo did.
Then Ex Libris 'sucked'.
Then anyone who ever has worked on these boards have 'sucked'.
For you see, none of them really 'sucked'. They made have done things or said things that weren't popular with you, but never have they 'sucked' as you put it.
Cuppa was as flawed as the rest of the reps have been.
But any flaws were human nature flaws and to be not only overlooked but expected.
No one is perfect, and in that simple fact, everyone is human.
What was the point of taking a poke at a rep who hasn't been at his job in awhile anyway?
For the record, I don't take the side of anyone, not Cuppa, Lighthouse, Ex, any of the reps. -
[ QUOTE ]
I have to disagree with you.
First of all "but it does cost its playerbase" is wrong. It only costs the segment of the playerbase who uses Freedom of Choice to buy. No one else. To say microtransactions cost the playerbase is like saying SIRIUS Satellite Radio cost all motorists.
[/ QUOTE ]
That is the only part of the playerbase that can be relevant, the part that pays for the extras. Which is why I wasn't meaning so inclusive as to include *all* the playerbase. Anyone who chooses not to buy, it not part of this. Although it might be argued that they were given less of Jay and teams time because of the extras. But we won't go into that.
[ QUOTE ]
In case you want to argue that BaB's time, and all involved, are the cost you speak of, I submit, the success of the First Microtransaction pack made VEATs earlier release date possible. So that was a bonus not a cost. I imaging continuing such packs mean more benefit then cost to the playerbase.
[/ QUOTE ]
Was there overtime or something put in to get that in the early release? No one knows, but I do agree that they said the extra cost allowed the Veats early.
*Remember, I am one of the ones buying these
[ QUOTE ]
Another thing to consider is adaptability. In the business world you have to be adaptive. IBM would have gone out of business decades ago had they stuck with typewriters. Sure microtransactions were not with the game from the start, but had the Devs adopted the mantra of "We will not introduce anything new. We will only stick to what we started with at the beginning of the game" This game would have evaporated about a year before City of Villains was released.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sorry, I completely don't accept this. That is to say I don't accept this arguement in support. No game that is an MMO can expect to not put more into the game within the first year to two of the launch. I know of no MMO that has ever done that and stayed in the game.
I can and do *accept* the change in marketing as it were. I already stated that I buy these packs that I like.
If it is the idea in general that you support some companies need to change to stay in business, then yes, I agree to that.
Only NCSoft can say if Microtransactions were necessary to stay where they wanted, or were something extra they decided and found it works for them.
[ QUOTE ]
Sure it would be great if they were free. I can't argue about that.
[/ QUOTE ]
Isn't this just what A_C is saying? They would be great if they were not 'free', but part of the normal subscription.
Again, I think we can all agree on that part too, I mean a vast majority of the playerbase would agree they would love if they were part of the normal subscription.
[ QUOTE ]
Microtransactions, booster packs, whatever, for purchase are fine. The player has the Freedom of Choice to buy or not to buy and its not game breaking if they don't.
[/ QUOTE ]
I completely agree with you here. Everyone has the freedom of choice in buying or not.
For myself, I choose to buy the ones I like or don't. But I do understand what A_C is talking about and where his mindset is on the topic. To a degree, he has a point.
NCSoft has chosen to go with microtransactions. With that, you can virutally guarentee that each time they produce something doing that, there will be those that like it, those that don't and those that don't care either way.
For myself, I choose to check each set out and then decide if I want to buy or not. I don't like microtransactions, but I am not the owner of this company -
Not to rain on anyones parade or take away from the excellent work Jay and his assistant put into this and all the other packs.
BUT...
Angry_Citizen and others do have a point.
Jay and his assistant are already on the NCSoft payroll, which is income generated from the normal monthly fees that are paid to play the game.
If NCSoft didn't want to put any new outfits into the game for customers or npc's then they would not have Jay on staff.
However, since they do have Jay on staff doing his normal work for which his salary is already being taken care of. And for which his time scheduling is already included. Taking him away from his normal time to produce micro transaction items (Not to mention Babs had to be involved for the emotes), and then charging extra for these items *is* what Angry_Citizen is talking about.
If microtransactions weren't now part of this game (thanks to everyone who keeps buying them { Myself Included }), then Jay and crew would be producing these same items for the game normally.
Would they be part of some set schedule? Surely they would. It isn't as if they are coming fast and furious as part of microtransactions after all.
So, Angry_Citizen does have a valid point in what his beliefs or feelings are regarding these mircotransactions.
NCSoft has found a way to generate more income for the company without extra expense.
Smart business decision on their part, but it does cost its playerbase. While the playerbase seems mostly favorable to these microtransactions and seems to purchase them (they must, or NCSoft would probably not continue to do them), it could be argued that they would come without the microtransaction itself.
Now, for myself , I find the idea of microtransactions a little frustrating (based on the history of *this* game not having microtransactions from the start), but I am in a position to easily afford the extra expense so I buy the ones that appeal to me.
Angry_Citizen and those that agree with him completely should always be allowed to voice their opinions as well as those who gladly buy into the microtransaction action. We really shouldn't harp on anyone who disagrees with the party line. They are the ones who help keep everyone honest -
I have been leveling up this MA/Shd scrapper in teams only with a 3 to 8 man team usually.
Being in a Pact (to also test that), it is slow going.
Problems I have experienced with this so far.
Extreme heavy end usuage even after stamina. Needing to rest after every mob or using only two smallest attacks to maintain the shields.
Last night put in Sets in all attacks.
Now average 46% End Reduction in all attacks with one as high as 78 % End Reduction (Frankenslotting).
Single End Reduction lvl 35 IO in three of the Toggle Shield defenses.
I have the ability to go through two mobs without needing to rest.
Granted:
MA is a fast acting set and End Heavy as well.
Still End drain is approx. 25% too high for this set considering it's lower values of protection vs other scrapper secondaries.
Damage mitigation on this set also appears low. Defense values are being slashed by mob with -Def (and there are quite a few that have -Def). Causing the set to compare as weak to other secondaries.
When comparing the working of any sets, one should not have to factor in 'using inspirations'. Shield Defense requires the usage of inspirations as a survival technique more than a convenience factor.
