Ah heck with it...
If everything is a Nemesis plot...
... then the furthest time travel in history was to the Garden of Eden.. though how he fit in the snake costume is beyond me.

It was a Snake Automaton.

Is there some sort of MMO law that says a witch can't trade her broomstick for a boomstick?
[/ QUOTE ]
Gun Witch's broomstick is a boomstick.

You know, that reminds me of this grade school teacher i once had............ -

I'm gonna throw in with the "You can, but I don't wanna!" crowd.

Ditto.
I always seem to find it useful on my builds so i take it. I never found it to be a deal breaker either way. -

I have to believe they are gonna fix that before release.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd be very surprised if they didn't.
Despite all the CO haters and doomsayers a lot of COX players will be trying CO. I'll be one of them. -

I've heard there's some potatoes and gravy coming as well. Mmm, gravy.

Mmmmm Hmmmmm. -
I really only find joy in annhilating mobs now. I haven't created a team "centric" tank in a long time.
If i play them at all i tend to gravitate towards the hazard zones and wreak havoc there.
I still like to read these forums while i'm taking a much needed sabbatical from the game but i intend to roll a SD/DM when i return.
Unless of course CO seduces me to the point that i don't want to return. We shall see. -

Does anyone else imagine that their pet, Singy, makes a gentle, pulsing "wub wub wub" sound?
[/ QUOTE ]
No.
Mine does a really good AL Pacino impersonation of his role in "Scent of a Woman" though.
He blindly charges into any oncoming onslaught with a swagger and reckless abandon that is both awe inspiring, and entertaining, all the while screaming "WHOOOOAAAAAAAA!!"
Damn i love Singy. -

For me, my plant/storm was the fastest and most fun ride to 50 yet.
[/ QUOTE ]
This was my experience as well, and ive tried them all except Mind/Storm.
Earth/Storm was my absolute favorite, and is still a "master of disaster" for enemy mobs, but Plant/Storm is just a blast to play.
I suggest you try a few varieties and judge for yourself. -
Nice guide.
DM/Regen was my very first lvl 50 way back in Nov 2004 and this guide not only brings back fond memories, it makes me want to dust him off, rethink how i would respec him now, and what frankenslotting techniques would benefit him best. -
I noticed a distant light. As i approached it I saw a neon sign that read "Davy Jones Bar and Grill". Curious i walked to the submerged establishment and noticed two beautiful mermaids swimming, seemingly in unison, somehow beconing me to enter. And then...............

Currently only 6 despite playing since May 2004. (I'm a hopeless altoholic)
Heroes:
Night Vigil - DM/Regen Scrapper
Taken for Granite - Stone/Stone Tank
Martian Flea - Ice/Storm Controller
Spikezilla - Spines/Regen Scrapper
Dr. Terra - Earth/Storm Controller
Villains:
Mechromancer - Bots/Dark Mastermind.
7 more in the 40+ range that i've had no incentive to get to 50 and a dozen or so in their 30's.
Just getting to lvl 50 has never been my motivation since i try so many different powersets. I do currently have two issue 0 builds that i still occasionally play. -
Interesting guide. I took a sabbatical from the game for a bit and as yet have not rolled a PD Mastermind.
I may have to try it out now. -
My official start date was May 24, 2004. After trying a few other MMOs and hating them, i was a bit skeptical, yet optimistic that this would finally be one i'd actually enjoy playing.
I would have started at launch but i was still saving up for that new shiny computer to play all the latest games, specifically with COH in mind. After assembling my new toy i bought COH and found that my ancient, non open GL graphics card wasn't adequate for being a superhero. A couple of days later, after ordering an appropriate card through new egg.com i finally took my first step into Atlas City and i've been hooked ever since.
I had to take two 6 month sabbaticals so i'm only at the 39 month mark right now, but at least i convinced my Fiancee to try the game. Now she's the pro who's done and tried everything and i'm the hopeless altoholic who still has that "one more" combo i've always been wanting to try.
It's been a fun ride and I look forward to continuing untill CO steals my interest away (if it lives up to the hype and i can get over the "cartoony" graphics) or COH 2 becomes a reality. Either way, i'm grateful that someone took a chance on all the "comic" nerds out there and gave us an alternative to the endless Elves, Orcs, Dragons, and such.
Hi, my name is (insert name here) and i'm an altoholic! -
Very nice thread. Sometimes after all the flame posts and pointless debates on why A is better than Z it's nice to read something like this.
I can relate to the learning aspect that entertainment can have on children. I was an avid comic book fan as a child and i used to amaze my dad with words and concepts that i had picked up from comics that were way above the average reading comprehension for my age group.
I think a lot of times people simply underestimate what children are capable of learning.
This is a nice reminder to all of us why it's in our best interest to act decent to other players and help them learn the game. That other player may be someones child who could learn a great deal from the compassion, understanding, and patience you display while teaching them the ropes. -
Wow, not a bad run for a thread that was started back in March of 06
Ok, ill play along. Unfortunately i haven't gone back to read all the posts so ill just mention these.

You know you're an old gamer when...
[/ QUOTE ]
...............you vividly remember playing Pacman for the first time. My friends Dad was an arcade game repair-man and he brought home one of the very first Pacman machines. My buddy and i played it 3 days straight with hardly any sleep.
...............you had the Pong console. (1975? I dont remember exactly when those came out)
................you followed the Pong Console with the "high tech" Atari 2600.
Now obviously i'm only listing the video games. If we're talking board games then i'd have to go back to the early 70's when i played my first War strategy game. I don't remember if it was Axis and Allies or something predating that, but it was a pretty in depth war strategy game and i've been a tactics/strategy nerd ever since. -
Very nice job.
As one who worked in bars for many years i have to say it certainly captures the right ambiance.
Now if you just had tip jar options for the bartop. -
Played them both and ill give a slight edge to Dark/Rad so....

This trick can actually be done as soon as u can fly, have a Ranged AoE attack and are approximately lvl 13. The bombing of the Red River Gorge by the trolls in the Hollows is my initial area for this tactic. However, I only use this for my toons that have nearly no ability to solo (ice/storm troller). I got the sky raider jet pack from the Atlas Bank mish and just hit the bomb with my frostbite (AoE damage/immobilize). I would suggest trying to start as soon as possible if you are like me and don't really care for the 13-20 lvls where as a controller you lack most of the good powers and the enhancements for them.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, i failed to mention the red river area in the hollows. This is doable starting at about lvl 12 or so and good till around lvl 16. (still doable after that but the time spent versus reward earned drops significantly due to outleveling the mobs)
The crucial thing to understand is that AOE must be used, not single target attacks, otherwise the bomb will explode but you will not get xp for the mob it kills.
Ive done these quite often with my khelds. It's kind of a fun break from the norm. -
You forgot to mention that the bomb groups spawn at night, not during the day. With the halloween event still going on the spawns may be happening all the time. (haven't checked this out during the halloween event yet) During non events though you have to do this during night cycles. The bombs will start appearing just after sunset and continue untill just after sunrise. Also this technique will work from 20-mid 20's after which time you will outlevel these mobs, so it's really a small window of opportunity.
It is a fun way to level though if you like soloing and you're tired of doing the same routine. -
Now if you just had a real water environment to play your toon in. (maybe in I-15?)

This patch is to address lag specifically in the Rikti War Zone but should also improve results across all areas of the invasion.
[/ QUOTE ]
Thank god.
It would be fun to actually enjoy an invasion instead of having to leave the zone due to "lagvasion".
Thank you for addressing this. -
Awesome guide for those of us who didn't get to test this stuff in beta. Thank you.

(Can anyone say they have come up with a better character creation system? I think not!)

This is true and it's one of the highlights of this game, to me anyway.
That being said, i want more options now. I've used everything 10 times over already.
Yes i'm being greedy! -
No, definately chihuahuas. They shake uncontrollably and look like oversized mice.
Chihuahuas FTW!
