Throw some ings on the end of that stuff and you got it. And I mean it to.

Quote:Anyone notice getting periodically rooted while doing a corruptor/defender self heal? Seemed like I was having a difficult time evading people in zone yesterday. At first I thought lag or just plain sucking on my part, but then I noticed that sometimes when I fired off the aoe self heal that I was stuck in place for the duration.
I talked to a couple other people who said they noticed the something happening periodically. But it's not constant. Bug? Another message from Castle letting us know how much they hate buffers/healers? Thoughts?
I will assume bug. Hope they fix it faster than some of the other bugs laying around. -

You appear to be, but I can't really tell. I think the idea is good and I'll defend it, and I certainly don't care if every idiot on the street agrees with me or not.
Whats with all the insults around here lately? And I wouldn't exactly call me an idiot in the street.
And yeah you seem pretty worked up about it. And feel free to keep on posting to defend the idea. Just don't expect us to build a support team up for you. Even some of the more notably bad pvpers who post in this section agree your idea is pretty much uncalled for. And that is just what we need, the devs spending time on changes we don't need when they barely give us anything at all.
You are probably better served joining the threads I mentioned earlier for coming up with ideas to fix pvp. We all want to see it more fast paced again. I have already explained why its incredibly unlikely we will ever get it. There are things we can work for to try to improve our game. This change is not it. -
I know the regin jokes get out of hand sometimes. But to be honest its all true. A decent, not even well built, regen is next to impossible to kill. You can do some good things with fiery aura, but it is no where in the same realm of survivability. Also you will have to sink a bit of coin in a fiery aura to get it up to snuff and regin is relatively cheap.

Quote:Can you see were people who like fast paced pvp would see were other changes would benefit pvp more? I am thinking you can't. This change will not bring speed back to the game. It will only increase kill counts. And even then not by much.
Can you see why some people who like fast paced pvp with non-stop action would think a 30-second timeout power makes the game worse?
Quote:Why don't you start your own "these are all of the changes needed to fix pvp" thread? You appear to understand that pvp is composed of many aspects that impact the overall game but can't comprehend the logic behind making any singular changes that don't completely fix the system.
Quote:I'm not trying to change anything. I think it would be good for pvp if it where changed and I'm sharing my thoughts on the power. You are obviously incapable of distinguishing the difference.
Good job on getting worked up on posting your idea and people not agreeing with you. And as barrier asked, do you even pvp any more? I haven't seen you in game in months and I barely ever seen you before that. In the old days I could just think its was because you were on test but unless you are 1v1ing yourself over there I am more inclined to think you just really don't play any more. And if thats the case I don't see why you feel the need to get changes to game you don't even really play. -

They slowed the game down, so why even bother suggesting they speed it back up? Is that the argument? If so, why continue to go on and on about the suppression changes that you think would improve the game? I'd say the devs are far more unlikely to reverse the suppression changes than make a change to a single power like hibernate.
That is not the arguement. the arguement is that there are far better things they could do to speed up pvp than mess with hiber. Not sure how you missed that seeing that is pretty much word for fricking word I said. And the closing to it was that any changes are very unlikely to happen. I am not a pessmist when it comes to pvp changes I am realist. Also in case you forgot, hibernate has had change via the phase timer. I am sorry this one power is slowing your game and costing you kills that you 'earned'. I still honestly fail to see how a change to this power makes the game any better overall.
If you are silly enough to think that tweaking this one power will make pvp all better again. And start bringing in new players and old players back, you are dead wrong. At this point you are just just trying to get a change in to a power that you don't like. It doesn't improve anything. It doesn't change the current balance. All it would do is raise kill totals. And again if you look at the previous pvp changes from pvp2.0 they actually like keeping kill counts down. -

I'm pretty sure if you select "allow temp powers" then they work.
I really want to read your book of pvp rules. It has to be a great read. The rules have to be so defined to your exact taste it must be epic.
For the record standard rules are ts and hd off dr on. Everything else is left alone.
I know these aren't the standard rules you are used to. It is however what pretty much every serious pvper left uses as the default for matches. Also the set the timer for 10 minutes, not last man standing or any of that stuff either.
As to the actual thread. Every time I think of lvl 4 pvp I cringe at KoC and his fricking ta defenders. So much hate. -

What is TJ doing in my pvp section
Edit: The song is The Last Dragon by Dwight David. Its not impossible to find with minimal internet searching. And yes, the song as well as the movie are classics. Still patiently awaiting the remake with Sam Jackson as Sho'Nuff. -
Ma is pretty much lazy mod pvp. Spam ec, wait for a crit, win.
-
To be fair though, you did give the wrong info in your first reply.
-
The crazy part of all that, we have an entire thread filled with people saying that the only time hiber can even stand a chance of being 'too good' is in a 1 v 1 setting. In teams its just another power.
-
Quote:beginners luck, or whatever that combat mechanic is, a level 1 or 2 will have like +25% tohit. i think, might be PvE only.
I think the best would be some kind of tank, maybe invul for the heal, spamming vet powers, because the damage multiplier doesn't matter.
vet powers in the arena eh -
Therm is actually pretty cheap to build. You want some mild +rech. Lots of kb protection and +hp. Find some +acc if you can.
speed/fitness/leaping/leadership/mako for pools. I really prefer the res shield on buffers as you will see a good bit of attention if the people you are playing against are any good. You can also fo speed/fitness/leaping/concealment/scorpion. It really comes down to playstyle choice and preference. -

If you think players sitting around encased in a block of ice for 30 seconds makes the game more fun to play, well just never agree on what makes this game better. My preference is for fast paced pvp so my opinions will conflict with folks who like to slow the game down with 30 second timeouts.
There are far more things they can do to increase the pace of pvp in this game. Seeing they basically spent a whole issue slowing the pace down though it seems pretty unlikely anything will ever be done to speed it back up. -
Pain dom is the ranged regen. I honestly wish I had went rad or fire instead of sonic on mine, but most anything would work.
-
Nice list mac, glad you did it seeing I am to fricking lazy and haven't had any play time of late. You might want to add something about the at with the highest hp in the game having one of the best ranged attacks in the game.
I almost hate to mention any minor balance issues because I know they use a chainsaw for jobs that require a scalpel. I posted it somewhere earlier but I would really really like a one press button on the arena set up for what we all have decided to be the standard rules. I would be far more inclined to arena more/again if it was less hassle. Nothing like arguing with a melee tard who challenged you to a duel for 2 hours about what settings people use when they go to the arena. And I still want to junk punch the idiot who came up with the no inspires button. Seriously. -
continues the random posts answering questions noone asked.

I would like one box on the main screen for arena that sets what most of us have settled on as the standard rules. Ts off, hd off, dr on, and you could add sd off to that as well. I hate check boxes with a mother ******* passion.
