Eh, if you liked Brutes, Scrappers will be kind of depressing and disappointing for you.
I can't really find a decent hero AT and/or powerset combo I'd like either, except maybe my Invul/SS Tanker. But he's in a duo that was made before Level Pacts existed, so he's kinda stuck at 32 due to the other half not playing much at all anymore.
I did get a Scrapper to 50 (just to unlock Warshades) but it just felt like a weak boring Brute to me all the way through. I haven't actually touched him since he hit 50. -
Hami-Os are still useful. The other day when re-evaluating my builds, a Membrane and a Lysosome found their way onto my list of stuff I need.
Now if only there were actually any Lysosomes on the Black Market. -
Yeah, you don't thrust with axes. Sure, it'd be more convincing than using One Thousand Cuts with two maces, but still.
What we need before axes and maces are the ability to unlock the Scrapyarder dual pickaxes for Dual Blades. Thrusting sillyness still applies, but... come on! There's like 3 or 5 Scrapyarder-related badges in the game, you'd think one of them would let you use those. -
If a 20% chance to do bonus damage makes Merc damage fine, maybe they should all just get a 20% chance to Critical with attacks, heh.

On a scrapper Midnight Grasp is fairly good too, even if just to keep the victim from running off so much. Not sure what effect the activation time has on fury though.
[/ QUOTE ]Midnight Grasp is poor DPS on brutes. The damage isn't as high as the scrapper one and the animation doesn't help it
[/ QUOTE ]Examining the Brute and Scrapper versions in-game through Real Numbers shows that, as with most shared abilities, a Brute will do more damage with MG than a Scrapper. -

in both current powers, you can change directions, but only as fast as fly.(i think even slower)

It's not that most people forget it. It's that it's not true.
Hover gives -Fly resistance. Not protection. -Fly affects you, it just wears off slightly faster. Just yesterday -Fly was affecting me through Hover, but this was PvE, perhaps it's different for PvP.
[/ QUOTE ]AFAIK, flying works with magnitudes. I'd have to check, but if I recall correctly, Fly has mag 1 flight, Hover has mag 4. I figure that's where the -fly protection comes from, assuming the -fly effect is below mag 4. -
Basically, he finds it annoying that the attack animation still connects to the target, even if it misses, and would prefer if it whiffed past the target like most (all?) other non-AoE attacks do.

Double jumping is common in many games of different settings. Mega Man (tech), Unreal Tournament (natural, science, mutant?), countless other examples I could think of if I had more time before uni.

Very few powers are worth a thing unslotted. Be thankful Hover doesn't need much to do its job well.
Heck, someone mentioned unslotted Consume, ooh boy..
