That sounds a lot like Lady In The Lake, not sure there are too many film noir films in that style tbh, although knowing Hollywood numerous people copied it soon afterwards
-
LOL, with the Justice League as the rest of the Boy Band, singing classics such as covers of....
Take That - How Deep Is Your (Bat) Cave?
New Kids On The Block - You Got It (The Right Power Ring)
Backstreet Boys - Every (Dead)Body (Doomsday's Back)
Nsync - (The Spectre Must Have Spent) A Little More Time on You

LOL, gotta love the Epic Over-React
Funny how no-one batted an eyelid at Superman landing in Communist Russia or Batman fight Jack The Ripper in Victorian England, though
I can't say I like the concept much, but I'll at least read it before I deride it -

I loved the Twilight riffage at the beginning, but was dissapointed not to see some mention of a gorgeous young blonde girl fighting vamps somewhere

Oh man do I feel old.
My fave memory of that era related to this, not so much the Walkman, which I loved, but going away for the week with my friends with a cheap, plasticky briefcase that held cassettes in. Everyone else had about 2 r 3 cassettes in their pockets....I arrived with about 50, all of the latest songs recorded off the radio by my dad who recorded the top 40 every week.
Man, was I popular for that week -
Quote:YES!!!Padme Amidala.
Oh boo hoo, my rage filled loverboy is actually truly evil. I just cannot live and shall orphan my children because I lost the will to live.
*Applauds furiously*
Finally someone else see's the massive plothole in these awful films!!
Anyway, before I digress....
The mum in the Psycho movies? Or what about the parents in Elm Street? Given what they did and then hid it from their kids, sure as hell cost them a lot! -
Quote:Fair point, I can see how La Vie Boheme might annoy the PC brigade out there, plus some of the songs have drugs references etc, but then again, Rocky Horror......transvestitism and incestous relationships?Rent being my favorite musical, this has struck me, too. Thing is, the songs that are the greatest in Rent are the ones that are the most offensive (La Vie Boheme, namely). They may need to be careful. Then again, "Take Me or Leave Me" would work with a couple of the couples.
As for "Seasons of Love", well that is to Broadway as Bohemian Rhapsody is to rock. As such, I imagine that they're saving it for a special occasion. -
I am soooooooo looking forward to this one
Interestingly, looking at my musicals collection, I've just realised.....nothing from Rent yet! Surely that's illegal for a show such as this one?
Makes you wonder if they have plans for it, and perhaps other musicals in the future? Wouldn't Kurt make an awesome Lil Orphan Annie?!! -

Quote:You are thinking of either his "mother" which was created by Soong or Lal, Data's daughter who was created by Data on the Enterprise and died shortly afterwards of cascade failure in her neural net. (Was actually quite a touching episode)There's Lore, Data, the woman android (name escapes me at present) and now B4.....so isn't there yet one more out there to be discovered?
But yeah, can totally see there being other prototypes out there, just was a bit of a sucky way for B4 to be found. -
Well, I'm amazed by how much they keep adding to this game, with what appears to be even less staff now!
I'm confused by one thing though, this logging out to character list......is this something new? I thought we could do this already? -
I'm still trying to work out if that is actually Darkseid himself inside Godfrey, or an aspect of him.
I don't know what they are doing here, fully yet and that's the part that worries me. I appreciate that this is a TV series that is pretty much in a different universe to the comics and they are not trying to replicate the comics, so I can understand and even enjoy a different interpretation of the mythos, almost like a "realistic" Elseworld universe, so to speak.
Some things I've really enjoyed, their version of the Justice Society was excellent, their version of Green Arrow I've loved, a modern take on a great character that still keeps the philosophical roots of Oliver Queen, but I was massively disappointed by their version of Doomsday, felt that was so badly done for many reasons.
I'm concerned Darkseid will go the same way, some mystical darkness that takes people over, rather than the New God we all know and love out there on Apokolips. If this "darkness" is an aspect of him sent to Earth, with him still out there controlling everything, I'll love that! Makes perfect sense and keeps it right for the fans. If this is some dark cloud from another universe or dimension trying to get a foothold on Earth, then meh, very badly done for the ultimate menace!
As for Lois.....no no no and thrice no. I love the character, she's almost spot on character-wise, sassy, intelligent, determined etc.....but she is NOT supposed to know who or what Clark is!! Some parts of the Mythos should not be changed!! -
Hey Zortel, if you see this, don't forget to tune in tonight, I've got a couple of tracks for you in my set
Links in my sig, obviously -
Quote:Back when the boards were separate there were at least 3 mods for the EU boards, Bridger followed by Ghost Raptor covered the English boards, Kerensky covered the German boards and another mod covered the French boards, but I'm damned if I can remember his name!I thought Avatea was the French moderator (only moved now to the US).
Then they all got laid off and Avatea has covered all three from the US ever since.
So she's doing the work of 3 people and still manages to be very supportive!
Not saying that the marketing people are good, mind, just pointing out that some of them do their best to help and be supportive. Avatea and Mod08 appeared unexpectedly at an in-game wedding the other day, it was lovely.....like they were on some sort of date....hmmmm, now there's some gossip for the boards!! -
Quote:Well, that all but makes it officialItÂ’s our policy not to comment on personnel issues but rest assured that we remain as dedicated as ever to the future of the City of Heroes franchise.
Bugger, damn shame to lose good people, especially the popular ones like BABS! -
Isn't BaB's going to the NY Comic Con with Paragon?
-
-
Hopefully it's not true, but if it is, I wonder who else has gone? The article says 9 people overall.
-
Dunno how much of this is true or rumours, but could it explain why we've not seen Back Alley Brawler for a while?
Paragon Layoffs?
Would be good to get some official word on this! -
Quote:Sorry Riff, gotta disagree, Avatea has been a star for us recently and is always friendly when I contact her.I agree.
Coming from the EU where we had outstanding and responsive OCRs in the forms of Brdger, Kerensky and Ghost Raptor, we now have cold efficiency at best.
Bear in mind, she's doing the same job as Ghost Raptor, Kerensky and the French moderator who's name I've forgotted all at the same time! -
For those who enjoy a good cry and want to see it again......
Made all the more brilliant by counterpointing it with the humour in his tea party memory -
Just got through watching it with the family and thought it was brilliant!
Great way to handle a dodgy subject that always polarizes opinions but loved that they didn't just wuss out and have everyone agreeing with with everyone else like a lot of other shows do, this one actually tackled the subject with class.
Also, if Kurt doesn't win the Emmy next year, I'll be very shocked! -

Quote:Fantastic!! Thank you!!It is in the "Post Your Base Pictures" Thread in the Base Construction Forum...
I pinpointed the post:Here you go!
And yeah, I remember that and it is indeed great!
No wonder I couldn't find it, thought it was a thread of it's own, didn't realise it was buried in a different thread
