I just watched the Paintball Episode......
.........oh dear lords, I can't remember laughing so hard before.
-
Excedllent, will enjoy watching the rest and look forward to hopefully many more years of it
Also.......This -
Why did no one tell me about this show earlier!!
Seriously, just started watching this as part of my whole "watch all the best TV comedy ever" schtick I'm on atm....it's so damn funny!!
Only 11 episodes in so far, please tell me it stays this good?
Honestly, Abed?.....funniest character on TV since Sheldon!! -
Quote:That......I'm not sure about :SDoes anyone know if buying the game via Steam automatically defaults to the region you're buying it in? I live in Europe but play on the US servers, and if I wind up buying the european version via steam I've wasted money.
When I bought CoH on Steam many moons ago, it defaulted to the EU version, I would imagine it will do the same?
Could try the Steam forums for help? -
Hey all
I know my other Steam Sale thread got deleted....meh.....but this is relevant.
One day only as part of the Steam Holiday Sale - Going Rogue Complete Collection, only £6.75 (Dunno how much that is in US money)
Great way to gift it to friends on Steam, maybe get a few extra names running around Paragon? Or a cheap way to go discless with it? Or even a cheap second account?
Be warned, there are other games on there and we're not allowed to mention them.....it's forbidden! -
Quote:That and "Marilyn! Get your Coat!" were the two best lines in the show
I LOL at the Psychic Paper failing...."Finally a lie too big"
And it always amazes me how people get wound up over the tiny little glitches in the rules in a show that routinely changes it's rules at the drop of a hate and features time travel, disappearing universes and all kinds of other errors!
This is a show that has never really tried to stick hard and fast to continuity and rules, forsaking them whenever it suits a good storyline....it's not Star Trek after all -
Just watched it.....
That was all kinds of awesome
And the new series looks interesting, some weird stuff in there, old and new
SPOILER ALERT LOOK AWAY NOW IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW!!!

Enough padding.
Ok, we definitely saw, River Song again, a green eyed Ood and I think what was the tardis-like room from the James Corden/Flatmate episode.
Also saw what looked like the Three Musketeers, Nazi Secret Service, a cowboy setting, Men In Black, The Doctor sat in the Presidents chair in the oval Office, a grey alien in a suit......and evil porcelain dolls??
Looks amazing fun!

Safe again
Oh, and for those in the UK or the money, the new Doctor Who game is out, featuring the Vashta Nerada......hey, who turned out the lights?? -
Well, finally! Nice to see at least one channel knows the right way to do these things! Pleased that our US cousins won't have to wait several weeks/months like we have to
Now, if only the US stations would do the same in the opposite direction with shows like Glee......Bones......Big Bang.....How I Met Your Mother.....Stargate.....Smallville.....Criminal Minds........wow, long list -
-
Ok, had to re-roll him again as a Invul/Shovel Tanker on Defiant. Not ideally what I wanted, but the Shovel is a must....
And now, I've been in a great team and I'm already level 1!!! -
Yeah, Torchwood season 1 was pretty crappy in comparison to Who and SJA, but had a few decent moments and did improve as it went on. Second series was much improved, still a little hoky at times but again, had a lot of good things in it, the ending was particularly harsh for instance
Children of Earth was awesome though!
And yes, PLEASE give SJA a try, honestly, it's excellent and far more fun the Torchwood ever managed -
Not Sci-Fi per se, but I just started reading Simon Pegg's new bio, Nerd Do Well. Really enjoying it so far, he writes as he speaks and you can so hear his vice in your head as you read.
Will report back once I finished it -

Quote:Pfft, if you want to get SERIOUSLY geeky, there's also the Sarah Jane Adventures Comic Relief special with Ronnie Corbett and the Tonights The Night special with Captain Jack and the DoctorAlso, I love doing this because I'm such a Who Newb, but...
You forgot the 2005 Christmas Special. It goes between your first two lines.
Not sure they are exactly canon though -
Excellent write up, glad people are helping, but to add to the fun, and for a completionists sakes.....extra bits in black
Quote:Of course, if you want to be seriously completionist, there was also the two animated Doctor Who episodes as well, the first of which had Martha in it so fits in sometime during season 3 and the second one fits in sometimes during the 2009 specials.Season 1
New Who starts with Christopher Eccleston and Billie Piper.
Xmas Special 2005 - The Christmas Invasion
David Tennant takes over from Eccleston, Billie Piper remains.
Season 2
DT and BP carry on their adventures.
Torchwood Season 1 - Introduction of the Cardiff team of Torchwood with Captain Jack in charge.
Xmas Special 2006 - The Runaway Bride
One off adventure with David Tennant and Catherine Tate (who would go on to become a full time companion later on). Fun trivia point - look out for the villain who is 'Empress of 'Rachnoss.
Sarah Jane Adventures Special - one off episode to introduce the characters
Season 3
David Tennant continues his run with new companion Freema Agyeman.
Sarah Jane Adventures - Season 1 - First full series, all about 30 mins long in 2 parts for each of them.
Charity Special - Time Crash
Fun, one off ten minute episode seeing David Tennant's Doctor come face to face with his previous incarnation played by Peter Davidson. Unavailable on DVD but can be found in full on Youtube. EDIT: Found it! - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szuP0oBZX4g
Xmas Special 2007 - Voyage of the Damned
Terrible movie episode with Kylie Minogue as temporary companion.
Torchwood Season 2 - New series with Freema Agyeman appearing for about 3 episodes, first real crossover between the series
Season 4
David Tennant teams up with new companion Catherine Tate.
Sarah Jane Adventures season 2 - New character introduced, more references to events in Doctor Who
Xmas Special 2008 - The Next Doctor
Easter Special 2009 - Planet of the Dead
Torchwood Season 3 - 5 Part storyline called Children Of Earth. VERY well recieved by fans and critics and by far the best of the Torchwood stuff.
Sarah Jane Adventures season 3 - Has a 2-part storyline in it with David Tennant as the Doctor. Great fun!
Autumn Special 2009 - The Waters of Mars
Xmas Special 2009 - The End of Time: Part 1
New Years Special 2009 - The End of Time: Part 2
Season 5
David Tennant hands over to Matt Smith with Karen Gillan as the new companion. New writing team takes over as well.
Sarah Jane Adventures season 4 - Again, great fun with a 2-part story featuring Matt Smith as the Doctor!
If you are an obsessive geek like me, it's worth trying to watch them all in this order as it does add to the fun, there's a lot of little references and comments that connect the shows, the Turn Left episode, for instance, mentions a villain from the Sarah Jane show.
None of these extras are needed as such, but it's good fun doing it :0 -
Ermmm,.......what??
I think you need to clairfy a little for us, Marcian, as far as I know there are NO movies inbetween episodes, barring the TV movie of the 8th Doctor, Paul McGann!
Or did you mean the dual episode storylines, the 2-parters spliced together?
FOr starters, which Doctor are we talking about? You say New Who, which would suggest you've started with the 9th Doctor, Christopher Ecclestone, followed by David Tennant and Matt Smith being the new one.
If you mean the old ones, dear gods, so many
Also, if you want to be a purist, you should also watch the series for Torchwood and the Sarah Jane Adventures, are there are several reference and even a few guest appearances and sort-of-crossovers
SJA is a great series, Torchwood improved dramatically, worth getting through -

NEXT FALL???!?!?
AAAGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
Never has the internet phrase Do Want NAO! been so apt! -
Awwwww maaaaaan!!
Well, guess I have a choice to make then.
If I want a Shovel, I have to go Tanker and just live with it. It's a much slower journey and honestly, not that interesting solo.
Or I re-roll him as a scrapper. Without the Shovel.
I really want the Shovel though -
Bahhh, I've had to re-roll him!
I wanted him to be a Heroic Brute, so I could keep on using his Shovel but not have the trudge of the much slower Tanker damage output, hence me making him in Praetoria. The idea was to choose Hero as my option later.
Unfortunately it seems I can't make the switch as I actually have to level up when I hit "20" to get him into Paragon City!
So, he's a brute in CoV now, and will make the switch earlier......at least, I hope he can! Does anyone know if it can be done without having to actually level up??
If not, I guess I'll have to make him a Tanker again and just persevere with it! -
On a slight aside, those saying they would buy cossie codes, you know the Real World Hero charity drive has 9 cossie codes up on their auction pages, so you can buy one and donate to a good cause as well
http://realworldhero.com/category/auction/ -
I am in the EU, so that might have been a factor, but still, 7 minutes! It was sheer fluke I clicked to update Twitter and I didn't even know about the 12 Days thing, hadn't seen this announcement or anything, just recognised them as codes to enter, tried it, got one, tried a different one and got one for my wife!
-
Sorry to be the voice of discord and disagreement here, but I just got 2 codes, one for myself and one for my wife.....and according to Twitter the post had been up for 7 minutes!
It is possible to get these things, but I know how fast you have to be sometimes, it's driven me to frothing mouth in the past, but this time, I guess people just weren't trying hard enough! -
"Can I be honest? I don't understand the difference between an elf and a slave"
That girl is pure comedy gold
