Get a Belkin Nostromo N52 hand pad. You won't be disappointed.
  2. Yeah, I saw where he started posting in it again...3 years later.

HERE is a little bit of history on it.
  3. Oh and just FYI. The reason it would not be a good idea is because the compressed files have to be decompressed before they are used, so it adds a lot of access time to the files. Not good for gaming.

Why do we even have an official powerlevelling thread?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I asked for it, did a personnal thread, aka" FARMERS WANT A FORUM" as in pvp ers, builds, MA SA's, etc...

Turned to be instantly popular. they locked it.

On the very same day, i got a mail from a dev saying "this wont happen", and a Mod created one.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, no. You asked for a whole forum, where as the mod opened a thread. There is a big difference.

I laughed about bannings because I believed Positron was blowing smoke.

Then I heard about a character lock. I laughed about that, assuming everyone that got a character locked/deleted would be able to laugh it off as easy come/easy go.

And then I started hearing about reports of folks getting both. Not just a small handful of people here or there, but large numbers of people. Apparently some who shouldn't have been tagged.

The laughter became a chuckle. That nervous chuckle of a man realizing that his favorite dev team had fallen off into the deep end.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Don't believe everything you hear. You do realize that people lie for the sake of lying. They make crap up just to get attention...especially during such events as this. "Look at me, I got banned for doing nothing!". All they are doing is stirring up drama. Most of what people claim has happened, has happened to their friend or the friend of friend. What these people are saying has to be taken with a grain of salt.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Worthless people lie. I don't. Neither do people I befriend. My friend has no reason to lie to me, but he's also not innocent and I never stated he was.

There's another group of worthless people out there. Those that call honest people liars.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So basically, I'm worthless because I demand proof? I'm sure it sucks for your friend to have gotten banned, but did it ever occur to you to ask him what he was doing that would have gotten him banned instead of immediately assuming he did nothing wrong?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Your reading comprehension sucks. He knows why he got banned. I know why he got banned. I already stated he wasn't innocent. So, yes, you're worthless for calling two honest people liars and then doubly so for not bothering to properly read posts that you're responding to before opening your mouth and proving yourself to be a fool.

For the record, I'm not at all against characters being deleted that were powerleveled to 50 using some "egregious exploit." I applaud it and find it hilarious. It's the banning I find to be total [censored].

    [/ QUOTE ]

First off, I'm not worthless. I have a right to claim BS just as you do or the next guy. I did, however, misread what you said. When you said he wasn't innocent, I thought you meant, in general, not towards the issue at hand...why I don't know, but I did. Probably because of the string of posts from people claiming that they did nothing wrong and they had characters deleted or accounts banned. I apologize and was not trying to be a dick.

    As for people getting banned...meh.

I want to go back to the dance analogy. Exploiting broken mechanics is like slipping someone a rooficolda. Playing it off as maximizing your play time is like saying your were maximizing your dating efforts.

Positron was mad because you gave his digital daughter a roofiecolada and then told your friends how to get her to drink it and posted pictures on the internet.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Seeing as posi was renting out his digital daughter for 15$ a month thats an interesting way of looking at it.

Its more like the players contacted positron in his felt hat, and platformed shoe glory, and had him hook them up. When it came time for Miss MA to deliver, it turned out " That ain't no woman! It's a man, man!"

    [/ QUOTE ]

Next you'll be saying he made you play the game because he gave you a good deal.

    <QR>

So, basically, the only way you seem to have fun is to try and push the rewards of the game to the limit.

    Apparently you are not alone.

It seems many of the players that feel this way also have no ability to police themselves to not break the intended system. Seen that for years in gaming, I get it.

These same players don't like the actions taken to stop said behavior.

Like you, many of them are determined like some sort of 60s sit-in protest, if they keep making noise, it will change something.

    Did I miss anything?

    Now, my rebuttal.

Get over yourselves. You don't run the game, you have to abide by whatever those that do see fit to impart to the players. If that is not fun for you, then stop playing.

If you don't want to stop playing, then find another form of fun within the game, because pushing the numbers to the limit is simply not what those who run the game intend to be the center of it's draw.

For those of you that cannot grasp this, I really no of no other way to explain it.

Stop looking at pling , or farming as a bad thing. I personally have "payed my dues" with getting 5 characters to 50 doing teaming and soloing and all that. So my last 7 that I got to 50, I did pling and tfs. THIS WAS NEVER A BAD THING TO ME and was AN OPTION THAT I WANTED! I pay for this game just like everyone else, and if I don't want to spend months grinding a way to get a toon to 50 then I shouldn't have to.

I get on the forums and all I see is "farm bashing". Im grown and have 2 jobs. I dont wanna spend the remaining hours of my day getting 3 bars.

Farming allows me to put sooooooo much on the market. And I put it there for cheap too. It helps me help the economy of our game. Pling isn't bad. Any "character builders" know that getting a toon to 50 is pretty much just step number one. The recipes are the next step. Of the which, recipes are impossible to afford if a player just runs through contacts. I just did it with my ma/shield scrapper. After a month I was lvl 16 running in the hollows. Grinding out missions is for people that are new and people that actually prefer to run stories. It should not be the only method of game play.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Why do you grind at all? I don't understand why anyone would want to grind.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Because they are in a race with the rest of the players, but they just don't realize that this type of game is not a race.

Unfortunately, MMOs in general have attracted these type of people. People that have the drive to have more or better things than someone else simply for the sake of it. They think they are better than someone that has less than them. It's a bi-product of a superficial social species/society.
  12. To the OP...

Put this post in this thread.
  13. Are we allowed to say just "no" to this?
  14. <qr>

The other reason this would be bad idea is that players will min/max around the origins...which is what the devs do not want.

This should also be moved to the S&I forum.

I lost my job in feb and still think 14.99 is a good price to pay for this game. Its a cheap addiction And for what we get its a very good deal.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If I were to switch to reading books, going to movies, or playing other video games, it would cost me so much more than $15 per month.

[/ QUOTE ] Unless you go to the library(assuming there is a decent one near you).

    [/ QUOTE ]

It would still end up costing me more, but mostly because there's a Taco Bell in between me and the library. Mmm...chalupas.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Maybe Taco Bell should lower their prices...because, you know....they have been around forever. They have been around so long, they should be giving food away for free!!
  16. <qr>

    no.

And, technically and more realistically they should raise the price due to inflation...be happy they haven't.

Even if said comments where made one should understand that no comment ever made by a developer is every a guarantee even if it contains the phrase, "This is absolutely a guarantee..."

    Live with it.

That said, Issues 13 and 14 are but a single issue split in two and not two whole issues.
