No deck would be complete without The Hollows.
  4. Rocket Girl - Human Behavior by Bjork

Rocket Girl is a young woman from a race of space nomads, the rich daughter of an interstellar trading magnate. Her species long ago scientifically adapted itself to living in space, using radiation instead of fighting it and adding a pair of extra "ears" that could catch and send EM radiation for telepathy. She took a fancy to quaint Earth when her father came on a trading voyage, and she's spending a while "slumming the barbarian planet" and reveling in all the "primitive Earther thoughts and ways" as Rocket Girl, with a costume right out of the '50s.

Snowbird - Smaller God by Darling Violetta

Snowbird was an astronaut whose mission disappeared delivering a classified payload, and when the payload vanished a year later she reappeared in its place, frozen solid, and she's never thawed out since. A year has gone missing. Her family believes her dead. Her crewmates' whereabouts are still unknown. Her superiors can't trust her. Her body is a corpsicle that works anyway... and there's something, there was something important on the other side she can't quite remember.

The Fool's Errant - Freak on a Leash by Korn

The Fool is a cursed suit of armor that moves from sinner to sinner, transforming the host's countenance into that of the armor's demon sigil. The Errant is the poor [censored] in the armor who has to learn that the armor is there for him to atone for his crimes, and it will not work for him until he begins or leave him until it deems he has paid his due. The current host was a Skull whose atonement appears to be working on the side of the angels with a demon's face.

Crown Snake - Secret Life by Psykosonik

Crown Snake was raised by his cat burglar father to be a thief par excellence. He was hired by the Family to steal an experimental powersuit from a Freedom Corps research contractor, but when he found it he realized it was his ticket out. He stole the plans and destroyed the suit, letting the Family think he'd been secretly arrested and instead going underground with a fake identity. Building a basic suit with the plans and his cached assets, he joined Freedom Corps to go straight, complete his battlesuit and send anyone who could ID him straight to the Zig before they get a chance.

Wait wait wait, if you're in SG mode you don't earn (influence) after level 35?

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Yep.

This is also why any SG that tries to peer pressure me into running in SG mode can go [censored] [censored] their [censored] while [censored] [censored] a [censored] [censored] unless they're going to be reimburse me the influence. Since neither of the SGs I happen to be in at the moment can do that for me, [censored] [censored] Prestige.
  6. My only additional comment to this thread is that, even before the three month hiatus I took between I5 and I6, I had more or less stopped grouping with tanks except when AVs came up. I became so sick of the pattern of "tank enters -> herd constructed -> herd-compatible attacks invoked -> recovery -> repeat cycle" that I just didn't want to play with tanks anymore. All squishy teams were simply much more fun and interesting than playing tanker's cleanup boy with half my powers.

I'm not saying that this will fix anything, or that this was the best way to go about this, but what I am saying is that there was a problem, at least for me. Teaming with tankers wasn't any fun.

But States... AI fix? The 18th con just stands there lookin stupid instead of challenging the hero... why not have the 18th and beyond con choose to target from range and not close to melee til one of the 17 drop instead? Wouldn't that be real AI?... it just doesn't make a heap of sense!

Now that is a good idea.

I fought Babbage last night. He spawned +2. None of his attacks could one shot me. His big one did do ~80% of my bar though.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Babbage is a Giant Monster. Giant Monsters are level-less.
  9. I was looking at the other badges there on Vidiots and you have to heal a billion points of damage to get the last healing badge?!?
  10. It would be nice if Issue 5 had a new Accolade or two.

    That's the Council Empire, you.

    EDIT: Curse you, thread necromancers!
  12. (This is all leading up to a suggestion, so if you skim it, scroll down to the end.)

    1) 10 seconds is way too long. It seems to me many combats don't last much past ten seconds. It's also not thematic - I don't think I could track an invisible person for ten seconds because he fired once.

    2) In terms of defenders, the power change is going to be most punitive for those who deal damage, so this is going to hurt offenders and debuffers more than buffbots or healers. Many defenders are already under peer pressure now to shut up and heal. This may make things worse.

    3) At least Superior Invisibility should be considered a primary stealth power. This would help differentiate it from Group Invisibility. However, the permanent suppression of the click invisibility from GI has its own problem. The defensive bonus was its primary appeal. With that advantage diluted, this power may become more of a rarity.

On top of the above mechanistic objections and speaking in terms of comics theme, I understand the idea of a person concealed revealing himself when he attacks, but this is not universally the case in comics. The Invisible Woman does not become translucent when she fires; when Batman pops out of nowhere to smack a guy, he disappears again just as fast. If we're going with a comic theme, one or two seconds is more in tune with the genre. You know where the hidden character was right when they fired; after that, they could be anywhere.

So here's my suggestion. Make the suppression effect breakable by motion. You fire, you reveal where you are. You move... they don't know where you are anymore. Simple as that.
  13. Hope your brother comes back OK, Jack. I'm glad you went over to see him off right.

may have a foundation in history, it is very likely they will not match up directly because our game is fictional.

Then I must ask, why not make up new names? Based on the few screenshots I have seen, the The Tuatha De Dannann (spelling difference) were not monsters but men and women. Nuada of the Silver Hand, Lugh, Dagda? This seems to have been totaly ignored. I would rather you make up new mythologies and names rather than take very broad poetic license with existing mythologies.

These names and people do conotate certain expectations in people's minds and you risk alienating those folks because of playing fast and loose with people's histories and cultures.

    [/ QUOTE ]

We have actually been addressing the Tuatha De Dannan subject here.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I myself instead of "ignored" would have said "harped on over and over again before anyone's seen the actual implementation".

I don't mind one quicksand patch, but when they stack 6 of them in one spot, that's brutal.

SIX?! I should be so lucky. Want the screenie I took of me, trying to plow through 15? Painful.

In one Oranbega mission I was in, it got to the point that my primary role in the team became teleporting out of the quicksand and then recalling my partner before he died.

You know I really hate to burst your bubble, but there was a Pen and Paper RPG called Heroes or something.

And it has been out for a while.

Dude, there are like a dozen pen & paper superhero systems. That doesn't mean a new one isn't interesting.
  17. OK, that is really cool.
  18. "George Vasilakos Zombielord Eden Studios"?

"All Flesh Must Be Eaten" George Vasilakos?

Is Vasilakos the root of the name Vahzilok?
