Your tactics sound good. I would probably try 3 purple inspirations if 2 isn't working out.

I admit that I don't quite understand this - if you are saying that you have been trying him as an AV... then, yeah, he is pretty hard and I would encourage that you try him as an EB. I have never been brave enough for the AV version myself with any of my characters.

I have solo'd the EB level 50 version on my Son/Rad and my Dark/Cold corrs without Shivans.

It took a couple of tries each, and I relied primarily on a pile of purple inspirations for defense (keep a few for when the banes pop).

The key, as I recall, for the dark/cold was keeping my end up through his attacks (there is some -end there, right?) until the banes popped and then dropped [Heat Loss] in the crowd and 3 quick purples to sustain the remainder of the fight.

I have never played an Ill/Rad, but given my Rad experience with LR, I would expect that the key would just be to keep DPS up. So the advice on the fast PA rech possible is probably sound.
  3. Glad to hear its fixed, and the minimal-fx tip is a great work around. I dusted off my invul tank to stress test with the new difficulty settings and target for my next IO project... but promptly shelved him again after listening to that.
  4. I absolutely I love to check descriptions if they are there, badges, and vet time. Its fun to get a feel for the enthusiasm of other players and their experience in the game.

Now, I can't say I ever 'play differently' based on what I find. That information is just that... information. I have played with folks that have been in the game less than 3 months who really have their act together, with others that have over 50 months that seem clueless... or even with players that get one AT, but another time can't handle a different AT/powers right (I'm in that boat myself on occasion).

Now, if you just want, constent, 24/7, AoE madness, youd prolly roll a Spine/Dark, Fire, or now Elec. You get 2 Damage auras, spineburst, and thowspines, ready for each and every spawn.

So, it's either Spines, or Elec (IMO). Frankly, i find Spines more effective, and easier to use. The damage aura and spineburst simple to aim... you get right smack in the middle... and go nutz, and thorwspines cone is HUGE, so, again, aiming isn't hard, and the attacks recharge pretty fast. Elec, it's best aoe attack is on a long timer. JL's cone IMO is small, The chaining lighting attack is unpredictable. thrunderstike is AWSOME, no question, but all in all, i think spines is just more consistnet and more forgiving, thus, making it, genearly speaking, a better performer.
    Kingsnake got it one.
  6. I have several Corrs, and solo alot with all of them

I'd have to suggest Sonic/Rad tho, as one that included more 'safe time'.

The resist debuffs with Sonic stack, and with the increased damage output corrs get over defs, you'd probably enjoy that. The /Rad will give you the debuffs you know and love solo or in teams.

    Agreed.
My dark armor and shield characters love it. Haven't noticed it much where I've tried it other than that.

For slotting - I echo the PS proc comments tho, take the base benefit and use it for possible benefit. I have moved my regenerative tissue unique there for now also.

GW is darn tough to beat solo (even as an EB), and I have some characters that are darn proud of having done it.

Breakfrees are indeed worthless. If her hold hits you, you aren't getting free. Bring a pile of lucks, and keep 3-4 active all time time. If they do their job, the hold will miss.

Now, if your damage isn't getting to her even as a /Son, then you may be in trouble regardless.

The other advice shared (get Shivans, dropping level, etc.) may be the way to go. Or, faster, find a partner to help. Nothing wrong with ganging up on her.

I'll agree it isn't min/maxed, but I wouldn't call it a "bad idea". I generally find a mix of resist/def (more is better of each, of course) is best. My personal best luck running with hard core (no debt) teams was with a mix of buffs.

I did say fun, to support my attempt to describe balance rather than totally topped out.

Anyway, I guess my point was more in lines of everyone gets a different character to bring to the table, rather than 4 of all the same... but YMMV.

NOTE: see what Mod8 said above. he said it better

  11. Working a human blapper PB myself, atm - 36 if memory serves.

I just respec'd out of Tough/Weave due to the end issues and to get some PB powers I felt I was missing out on. Survivability down, DPS up... real shocker.

Can't make up mind what the final build needs to look like.
  12. Toss me in the stacked corruptors camp.
I'd mix it up some, get say two Son/ to double those debuffs, a Fire/ for the pure damage, a /Pain for the odd heal, /Kin cause really how can that not help, a /Cold and a /Son would have +def and +res shields for buffs and the cold for debuffs. Toss in a Dark/ for the -acc debuffs

hmm no rad tho.. drop the pain and switch it to Son/Rad.

    Son/Rad
    Fire/Cold
    Son/Kin
    Dark/Son

    that'd be a fun group

You are right. However, in the context of a comic hero game, any use of the name Arthur runs the risk of seeming to reference other comic Arthurs. In this case, most likely, the pictured Arthur you do not recognize (from a long line of children's books and a TV cartoon) or Tick's sidekick. The latter probably runs the higher risk as its directly a hero reference, but the one you don't recognize is the far larger franchise.

It is the context of the association that matters. And CoH treads carefully after the Marvel dispute of yore.

    sorry.

I have a half-finished time travel arc that this thread may just inspire me to dust off and complete.

Yeah, I saw that. I must be gone bonkers because those seem like the same times and dates from before. Maybe when I happened to play maintenance days it was on one of the "occasional" days, because I had 8-10am in my head. Guess its a good thing I'm at work then, normally. anyway.

Right. Figured as much, as it sounded like JFA.

The only DC connection to WW/BM I have had was on one character that a bid out on a piece of salvage that was removed. That got fixed. Other than that, it doesn't seem any worse than it has ever been.

    Am I missing something?

Still confused why there was an announcement of the *new* times. They're not new.
  20. Isn't this the same as its been for a while now?
That's 8am-10am US Central, which is what it has been.

    *confuzzled*
  21. FYI, I have never received feedback from support on this since I filed with them.
But I tried it with my affected character, just in blind hope, and it works fine again.

If anyone is waiting on their characters still, go ahead and try it. I think it may be cleared up.

To this point, discussion was focused on convincing the devs of a problem when they had stated that they hadn't found one. Yours was the first definitive pondering of 'intentional' that I noticed.

(Now, as an aside, the accusations of crying conspiracy were well founded. Random House Dictionary tells me that a conspiracy is "...surreptitious or covert schemes to accomplish some end, most often an evil one. A conspiracy usually involves a group entering into a secret agreement..." So, by claiming that there was a stealth attempt (secret) by the devs (a group) to accomplish a goal (reduce drop rates)... That fits the bill of conspiracy. Amuses me that you dodge the claim later. Stand tall and back up your accusations!)

So now your fun is ruined. The devs have admitted the bug has been found and they thank everyone for not letting it go. But that ruins your fun.

And no, I don't believe they are 100% transparent, but I don't believe that they are malicious about it, nor do I believe they would directly lie (white, status quo, or otherwise) about what was going on.

Yep. You don't outright say it, but then you say anyone who believes the previous comment is now gullible because clearly everyone lies. This continues your stance of lying and conspiracy, in the face of evidence to the contrary. I can't figure out if you're doing this for the lolz or you are just that paranoid.

  25. I sometimes use [Flash Freeze] that way on my ice/Ice/Cold blaster. As pointed out it won't work in all cases, and isn't going to help with a boss, but it'll silence a lot of the incoming for second to catch your breath with things get hairy.

I like it solo as a lead off power. The minions are all asleep, and I put my freeze rays and blasts to work on systematically to dismantle the opposition.

It's also a nice place to hold some relatively cheap purple IOs (well, used to be. no idea what they go for now).

I do not have any meaningful experience with the sets you are planning to use, so can't help you more specifically.
