Annoying Invincibility sound?
I've never noticed any continuing sound, but if it bothers you simply go to the tailor and change the FX to "minimal FX"... it completely turns off all sound and visuals from the Invuln toggles.

I've only recently gotten Invincibility on my new tanker but this past Saturday I was running him and we were hearing this mechanical noise while fighting enemies. It sounded a little like a sewer pump.
At first I thought it was the trolls we were fighting and filed a bug report. But when we got outside and were ambushed by tsoo they were making the noise too. Finally we each engaged a different random group on the street and found it was only me making the noise. Then I tried turning off various toggles and found it was Invincibility. It was so annoying I played the next hour with that toggle turned off. I'm 19th level so I'm certain I've played with this power in our previous session. I find it hard to believe I didn't notice the sound then. I'm hoping it is a bug with the latest patch, or perhaps a side-effect of using the minimal fx customization. I guess I need to change it back to default to see if it erases the noise. Has anyone else noticed this? |

If you're talking about the annoying sound that sounds like a combination of a Rikti Hum combined with a beating drum - I've run into it also. Extremely annoying.... and I've bug reported it.

Yes, my husband dug out his Invul/SS to check the defense numbers and jumped into a huge mob, it was deafening. I'm pretty sure it's a known issue, but now I need to do some searching.

That is good news indeed.
Yeah, it seems to play whenever the Invincibility Aura hits a foe. The bug/issue/whatever causes the Invincibility activation sound fx to replay... so if you're surrounded by mobs, as a Tanker tends to be, it plays A LOT.
I ran a Sister Psyche with my Invuln/Mace, and it was quite annoying... I just played with my volume down. Hopefully a fix will come soon, as this is more annoying for Invince players and their teammates than that chat bug that was around for awhile.

I noticed on SR when I utilize Minimal FX at the costume screen, it also killed off the sound FX. This fact made me squee a bit.
Has anyone checked to see if Minimal FX for Invul does the same?

Just now and yes, it completely eliminates the annoying sound loop! At least we have a workaround now.

I've only bothered changing one of my 5 costume slots; it just hadn't seemed worthwhile. Hey, I noticed last night that CMA has 105 free costume tokens

Glad to hear its fixed, and the minimal-fx tip is a great work around. I dusted off my invul tank to stress test with the new difficulty settings and target for my next IO project... but promptly shelved him again after listening to that.
Anybody notice Invincibility's "rays" of light emanating from your body no longer show up, aven when using "Bright" settings?
