    So much suck

    Color me confused.

Everything I read about GR was nice. Either someone is sipping the silly juice, or I obviously missed something? What is this doom we speak of?

Have done the event blue and redside repeatedly without fail, I know it was only 2 teams one time.

I have no idea what the complaint here is....
  3. I haven't had any more trouble then usual getting on a team or finding activity other than solo...

    *shrug*

edit: that is to say, I do not subscribe to the OP's newsletter
  4. I just like the new zone event interface - approaching a banner location triggering activity in your Nav, and distance indicator tied to the spawned GM. Makes me wonder what they are playing with for GR.....

While I do like having nice sets and some of the "premier" unique IOs, not all my characters have them. Hell, I have a couple of level 50s that still have mainly SOs in them.
    This.
    The Flea is wise.
  6. They've had them for years, but I don't remember the rules on what makes them available (difficulty or level) and/or why they use them so rarely. One of the best Frostfire arrests I ever went on had imps and jack frosts being used against us from about halfway through the mission to the end by Lead outcasts.

This was... 2 years ago maybe on an 8-player invinc (by the old diff rules) at the max level range of the arc. Never experienced anything similar since.

It would better reflect the supposedly good public perception of the Crey, rather than having the public cowering and fleeing whenever they get near a Crey unit, and Crey attacking heroes at will on the streets.
    That's a pretty slick idea.

I suspect that Crey's inclusion early in the game pre-dates alot of the later content where we get missions with allies, etc. Otherwise, some early missions where some Crey guards or a PP seem to support you (who knows what they are really doing there? *cue mysterious music*) would contrast nicely with that you learn later. Maybe in the mix with some of the Hollows repeat missions, or they would have been a nice fit in 'aiding' the faultline recovery. Something like that.

You get taken off to the arena to fight then get brought right back afterwards.
Understood and agreed, Catwhoorg. I fully endorse the use of the /arena commands for those that want. My comments were targeted at the generic, "classic" duel requests. The /arena options in place now make this QoL request even less relevant, imo.

In the comic book universe, heroes are always fighting each other for whatever stupid reason, because nerds like sitting there going "Who would win, Superman or Batman?" And comic book writers ARE nerds!
    puh-leaze.
Superman does not regularly zip over to Gotham and say "Batman, Imma gonna punch you inna mouth". There may be a story, an arc, a reason... but they do not just say "Duel meh!"

There's no reason THAT would lead to fighting ever... >.>
Agreed and, frankly, your best argument but "arena that way". There is no _reason_ to introduce disturbance to tens or dozens of others just to satisfy a pair.

And yes, as pointed out, it'll happen in WW, it'll happen in the middle of someone's CC, it'll bounce into the middle of a group of quiet chatters, it'd... you get the idea.

um, so then just adding more to that is fine?

Not having the option hurts no one, having it just introduces more opportunity for noise.
  10. Ugly duckling for the defender sets!?!?!?!?!?

One of the best, most appreciated on these here forums you mean.

And I get all warm and fuzzy when a dark def shows up on my team.

Don't let one random pugs lack of vocal support dissuade you.

I PvP rarely, but I appreciate that there are specific and controlled conditions that I can seek out to engage in such behavior and that it never threatens to intercede itself in my normal game play.

But, the very presence of this option will have negative effects for a player/character with zero interest in dueling. The last, last, LAST thing I want is to be moving through a zone, standing in WW, or whatnot and get peppered with duel invites.

    1. Whether dueling or otherwise, combat of a player against another player is, by its very definition, PvP. I suspect you are indicating that you favor a specific sub-set of PvP, rather than "hating" it.
    2. I do not consider my opinion against the suggestion to be anti-pvp. I see the QoL suggestion to be something that threatens the QoL of more people than it would benefit.
    3. I think the common perception of the comic heroes does not have them running around asking to fight each other. The Arena certainly serves as an immersion supporting "practice" area.
    4. The comments against the idea are simply pointing out what others find wrong with the suggestion. These are not necessarily 'attacks' or anti-pvp lynch-mobs.

    Underwater?

This has been a much discussed topic over the years. In fact, an 'underwater zone' ranks right up there with a 'moon zone' as the most requested. There are likely several areas already in the forums if you search on 'water' and see past discussion (I did not check).

That said, they are toying with it. There is a small pool outdoors in Grandville somewhere where you can go underwater, and several areas within some of the Cimerora instance maps where you can swim under the stone bridges.
  14. It's a shame you took your ball and went home...
You have actually generated some excellent advice and feedback within this discussion. I am sorry that you don't feel it was valuable, because it opposed your core premise. Good luck out there.

I have already heard rumors of defenders that have taken on AVs. I can't imagine much more incredible than that, nor how that could really happen without primary and secondary contribution from the defender.

P.S. I keep wondering what your corruptor thoughts would be... (sorry, couldn't resist).
  15. I have never felt too much grind in getting these. In fact, any of my characters that spend any time in RWZ generally carry around Vanguard Merits that they don't have a use for. Particularly since the day job for logging out in the vanguard base increases your earn rate, not a lot but if you focus on it the benefit is noticeable. (edit: that sounds grindy. I meant focus on earning the badge.)

The only change I could recommend for these would be to make them tradeable, but that is highly unlikely.

I gave this one a run. Fun, with the right tone for what I expected.
The custom mobs were monotonous in their appearance, but the stacked debufffs were just the right amount of challenge in packs.

Thanks, not having played it I never really looked at the set, just the general comments. That helps improve my information.
  18. What have you tried? That may help get some better advice back.

I have found found as a Invul/, Dark Armor/, and Willpower/. I have a baby elec armor/ now too, that seems promising.

Damage, the word on the street I've always heard is that is super strength is the way to go. Never tried it.
Advice you have above implies some other choices.
  19. Been trying out +0/X4 on my 50 Dark/Cold atm.
Haven't hit up any of my other corrs, yet. Would probably default them to start at +0/X3 and adjust from there.

I wish. The only time I ever played involved a long session designing a unique and fun character that I was very into by the time he went to the docks, and with high hopes (on the part of both myself and the character) hired aboard a ship traveling across the great inland sea and adventure galore...

This is the short version of the campaign that followed (based on what I recall from the scars):

*a few days into the journey after some simple interactions with the crew and fellow passengers*

gamemaster/dice/table: it seems a storm is forming

me: OK, I'll keep out of the way of the crew, they don't need me interfering

gamemaster/dice/table: the storm gets worse, its a bad one. think hurricaine

    me: ok

    gamemaster/dice/table: the ship sinks

me: what? well, crap. now what? is there any debris nearby?

gamemaster: its the middle of a major storm and you are too far from any land to make it to safety

    me: what?

    gamemaster: you're dead

me: you have got to be kidding me

gamemaster: its what came up on the rolls

    I never played again.

    No?

    Really?

OK.... I'll be in the Vanguard base, you know, if you need me...
  23. I was also in the midst of the lag, also on a villain team to boot. I ended up logging and jumped on Quake Live for a while. I jumped back on later, but not on Justice. How long did it last?
  24. That is a crowded screen... and gratz.
  25. I reviewed my arcs, checked my list of desired changes to make, double checked the list of admitted submissions here and measured mine against the ones I know... and decided I just sit everything out.

    Good luck everyone.
