I don't care about the answers. I just want Nasty Attack Cars in the game. I think I'd buy a whole game called Nasty Attack Cars for that matter.

Shhhhh.. that's the next expanshalone: CoNAC -
:: Phew :: I am so happy you're still around. I thought you left because I had inadvertantly insulted you at Gen-Con Indy a few years back.
I am very glad you're going to help out around here!
(p.s. I didn't really, it just came across that way at first listening.. Manticore even remembered the comment and laughed about it when I pm-ed him an "apology") -

It was BaB's first, too!

It was and I gotta say, not impressed.

I had my first Earthquake in Southern California a couple of months ago and I kinda missed it.. the second one a day later I missed too.
My first one happened while we were at Disneyland. We were riding the Finding Nemo Submarine ride when the sub shook a little. Thinking it was part of the ride, we didn't worry about anything. However, when we got off the ride, all of the attractions in the park we're shut down. We thought it quite odd that they would all break at the same time.
The second earthquake happened while I was driving, so I never felt it. -
I love this event. It is truly my favorite. The addition of the costume powers is great.
My only complaint, and this has been since the event originally went live, is to remove the player timers. I don't mind the door timers, because the object of TOT-ing is to go around to other doors.
However, as a solo player, once I click on a door, if I get a treat, I am stuck sitting there with nothing to do until the timer resets. If I get a trick, it takes - at most - 30 seconds to wipe out the mobs and I am still sitting around with nothing to do, less time to sit around. The personal timer makes trick or treating a chore instead of full on fun. -

Yay.. Six Flags is teh awesome! Coasters RULE! -
I find it funny that Positron relied on Wikipedia for background information. Wikipedia.. where it was one posted that Al Capone died in prison from a roundhouse kick to the head.

Thanks for the reply Zombie-Man! I have noticed that the pets in the new missions will give up trying to follow you if you get to far.. However, it seems that it's easier for them to go stupid than previously?? Maybe it's just me.
Also, to those who are talking about teams with members in different instances. You don't have to be in the same instance unless you are street sweeping. If he leader picks a mission, the members will all get the waypoint and end up together in the mission, no matter what instance the start out in.
I don't know if this is a bug or not, but if you have a board tram mission and you leave RWZ to back to Paragon City, you have the option of going to that board tram mission from the portal. -
In the final mission of the second contact in the RWZ (Serpent Drummer) you have to rescue Faultline and Fusionette and take out the invasion leader.
Faultline (who's powers totally confuse me.. is he a tanktroller?) jumped off the walkway to help me fight something and he put on his stone armor. We finished the fight and I left the room. He never followed because he can't jump or fly with the stone armor on.. and he never dropped that power.
Also, in the mission where the Rikti are attacking portal corp and you have to destroy 12 portals: One of the rescued helpers disappeared after we got outside. It turns out that she spend the rest of the mission attacking "fire". Thus, she was useless. -
Thanks for the info Lighthouse.. I look forward to meeting you and I will definitely bring a screenshot of Captain Colorblind!

I just want to say thank you for re-opening the polls.

[ QUOTE ]
Let me get this straight. This poll was open for less than 1 day?

I'm kinda pissed about that fact, too. I only happened to find out about the poll on a different website. Came over to vote and the boards were down for maintenance. Just got in now and the poll is already closed.
That's just not right -

The hero always shows up after the looting, they're just being consistent.
[/ QUOTE ]
But in a Mayhem Mission the hero doesn't have to fight through a series of villains to get to player villain. He/She just has to get from the entrance to the vault or wherever the player villain is located.
Also, in a Mayhem, the player villain HAS to defeat the hero in order to win the mission. In a Safeguard, the villain doesn't have to stick around to defeat the player hero. Therefore, the villain in the Safeguard needs to take more time opening the vault OR the vault opens when the player hero is within about 25 feet of the vault. -
I agree that the vault door can use more HP because in the Mayhem Missions, the vault doors scale up to the villain level. Maybe not AS high as what the villains fight in Mayhems but more definitely.
When I did my SGM, I entered the bank as the Villain was running to the vault (I saw the chat bubble moving). I defeated the 3 guards in the lobby and by the time I got to the vault, she had just blown the door off. That's really fast. -
I very much enjoyed my first Safeguard Mission last night. Having done numerous Mayhem Missions, it was cool to see the mission from 'the other side.'
I was a lvl 39 scrapper playing on Heroic (I do all mayhems on the easiest setting) and had no mission bugs. Hopped right over to the bank and got the 'being robbed message.' I took out the spawns in the lobby and on the way to the vault. The villain (Ms. Shocker, I think) had just blown open the vault. The moment I attacked, she totally focused on me and never tried to leave. Took her out, completed the bank and got the bonuses.
A vandal message popped up and I went out to the mark. I found no vandals there, but figured I might have beaten them to the site.. and I had. Took them out.
I had 4 side missions: Arms Deal, Sewer Bombing, Jail Break, and Theft. Each one was pretty straight foward and actually quite fun. I realized there was no timer on the sewer bombing mission, even though it said 6 minutes to explosion, but I actually liked that. It added to the frenzied pace.
I felt that the mission had a fast pace to it and kept things going very well. As some people mentioned, the mobs do seem to have a longer aggro range (didn't notice that until I thought about it today.) Time was never a problem. Infact, I cleaned out the map with 20 minutes left to spare. I was hoping for more Vandal messages.
I would say I had a total of 4 vandal messages, one of which I ignored because I was in the sewer bombing mission and didn't want to time out. I do like that the vandal markers appear, but it seems they ttake a bibt of time to dissappear after foiling the vandals.
The side quest markers weren't a bother to me as I am used to that from Mayhem Missions. Having them disappear after completed would be nice.
In the theft mission, I didn't seem to get any credit for rescuing the hostages and I felt I should have gotten something. Like a bonus if I get them all.
All in all, I think they are a great compliment/parallel to mayhem missions. Granted, Council and Nemesis are easy foes. I think I'll hate to face Malta/Carnie in the same mission. -
Doesn't the Positron Task Force revolve around 3 factions trying to control the damn in Faultline? Will the zone change necessitate a change to the TF?
-
States,
I know it's been posted here before, but one of my biggest issues with bases, really isn't with bases, but with Prestige. NONE of my characters over level 25 run in SG mode. I can't afford it. Unlike power players, I don't have a stable of lvl 50 characters to use as an inf bank. I really don't see a plausible reason why we have to sacrifice inf. for prestige.
Also, when I used to play in SG mode above 25, I could swear that I received less prestige the higher I went and that's at the cost of inf. as well. So, in reality, I am being double penalized for playing in SG mode the higher I ascend. I've also seen where the prestige at lower levels received for a completed mission is MORE than the inf. gained.*
The rules for infamy and prestige should be the same.. as you go higher, you garner more for what you do. How can a level 3 no name villain/hero give his/her SG more prestige than someone who has made a name for themselves in the CoX universe?
Bases might be more affordable if our characters were able to get the prestige we need to pay for them.
*I may be wrong as things might have changed since I played in SG mode above lvl 25. -

Heh, older than you. I also remember things like Coleco Vision & Intellivision. Mighty Mouse cartoons...

Oh yeah? Well, I had a Commodore Vic-20.. WITH cassette tape storage capacity! It was a big thrill to program the flying block!
(My father also ran the repair center for the Mattell Intellivision .. we had every add on you could find. I wish I had kept that stuff they would be such a collector's itema now.) -
I remember...
... thinking MMO's were for geeks and a waste of money.. until my friend showed me the character creator at a party of his. I left the party shortly after that and bought CoH. After installation, immediately going back out to buy a graphics card so I could run the game.. and then getting a 1 meg memory upgrade the next day.
... thinking hover was the perfect power for my first character.. a fire tank that never got past lvl 14 in a year and was finally deleted... but he had an AWESOME costume.
... trying to jump up the sides of buildings in KR to get the darn CoT's at night. (I still can't run up fire escapes without falling off.)
... the first giant monster I ever saw and defeated.. Adam.. thinking wow.. glad I have flight!
... my first TF was a screaming success because the leader knew how to lead!
... the invasion of the overpowered Eyeballs with teeth!
... you could fail the cape mission 5 seconds after getting in the door.
... the bug that would allow you to create an invisible character.
... wetting myself the first time I set off my blaster's lvl 32 nuke!
... back when most of the zones had multiple instances and making sure the whole team knew which zone we were all exiting into.
... seeing a DE Quartz that was a Lieutenant and thinking how can something like that be given a rank.. then seeing a Sky force field generator that was also a Lieutenant.. Both in Steel Canyon.. -

Pets, for instance, do slightly less damage than Minions, but have greater Hit Points. There are three varieties of Henchmen: Minion, Lieutenant and Boss. Each of these does less damage than the equivalent Critter, but have greater Hit Points.
[/ QUOTE ]
This may sound newbish - but I am assuming you mean that the unenhanced damage is less than an equivalent Critter? -
Oh wow. Cuppa you have provided so much wisdom, humor, and compassion (and have been the voice of reason) since I started this game. I really hope that the community of Tabula Rasa understands the quality and professionalism you will bring to them.
I don't post a lot, but I read the boards daily and I have an emormous amount of respect for you and all you have done for us. In my mind you are the backbone of the CoX Boards. I just wish I had the chance to meet you before you left us.
Good luck and best of everything in your future endeavors. Pop in every now and then just to cause us some grief
Cricket - Good luck leading this crowd! I know you will do just fine. -
I don't believe this was mentioned having read the whole thread a long time ago:
Citadel was originally named Bastion. He changed names somewhere around Issue 3, I believe.
