I'm also curious as to whether Tough or Aid Self is more needed for an Elec/Elec. I have one that I just started up as well, and I'm trying to get in the low 20s for all my positional defense, but I was hoping to pick up Summon Striker from my Patron set, and I don't think I can get Aid Self and Tough if I do that. Grrr. I'm a bit torn about what to do.

Tough is needed other wise your S/L resistance will be under 50% with tough you can be around 53%+ depending on slotting. Aid self is nice to have since you have no actual heal. Try to fit both in, I made mine for defense but on redside late game there some foes that ignore defense, (like nemesis that love to spam vengence >.< or worse Longbow that nerf your resistance (note* these are just examples you won't encounter these all the time) Aid self helps there since you will get hit.

Stone Melee also has Fault that is an AoE stun with a low recharge, basically it takes out all the minions and LT's out of the equation.

Stone Melee also has some heavy hitting ST attacks that also have a stun or hold secondary effect to them, it also has a Moderate PBAoE KnockDown Smash attack in Tremor, Also it has a Ranged attack in Hurl Boulder which causes high smash damage and -fly, KB.

Mace is more SMASH AOE, with some attacks causing KB and Stun effects.

All this is true, also to add to the bad you have low S/L resistance, even with tough on your looking at 53%ish without tough your looking at 41-44%ish ressitance. (out of Power Surge) also no self heal hurts.

The good: You can end drain most mobs with power sink , electric aura, and all your attacks. And Lighting Rod is sexy!

Invul = takes skill to make great!

WP = Easy mode

Case close, both can be good depending who is driving them.

Any thoughts on whether the ST hold in the set, Fossilize, is worth it on a team tank build? I'd have to give up either Incinerate or GFS to take it, obviously it would be helpful against certain problem mobs like Sappers and Tsoo Sorcs and the Basilisk Hold set is very nice, but I also find myself wondering if I'm going to be taking the time to do ST holds on a team.

And something I found on my rad defender is that exemplared down to lower levels where you'd really like to have that control because you can't destroy everything instantly, you don't have access to your epic powers anyway.

If there is a hold power take it, it will stack with the trollers holds too. When fighting AVs this comes in handy. From lvl 41-49 I would take the hold, immobilize, quicksand, & stalagmites. Everything else try to have before 41. A lot of AVs do not have immobilize protection, the holds help with ideas like you mentioned above. Also you risk not having holds if say you team make up doesn't have any. Also if you plan to pvp having at least one mez is needed. But in pvE having a hold can make your job easier. Nothing worse than jumpinginto a mob of malta and the troller yells AFK and you get sapped to death cause you don't see it.
