yeah, it changed. I moved my VEAT over to Rogue before I realized that VEATs couldn't get Hero epics. So I shelved him at level 35 and the Morality mission in the queue. I logged on for the first time with him post-i21 and got the new contact notification rigth away.

Now, when I go Hero > Vigilante > Villain > Rogue > Hero... If I respec after I'm a hero again, I don't lose access to the PPPs, do I?

Then all you have left is bosses and it's not worth nuking on a boss. And using nuke on EBs or AVs is also a waste.

Unless the plan is just to nuke two spawns in a row, but then you're dealing with the crashes of a nuke and Burnout, and you already used blues (and you'd need to use 2-3 just to be able to use Burnout and nuke again).
On steam-rolling teams, my plan would be to Blizzard, small blue, Power Sink, Burnout, Blizzard, small blue, Power Sink.

But I'm a crazy Blaster who loves to Nuke. As a matter of fact, I think I'll make an Energy/Electric Blaster to make using Nova more often possible, cuz I loves me some Nova.

    Zone PvP

When's the last time there was some action? I keep intending to wander in there, but haven't gotten the chance. Which zone is "popular" (to use the term loosely), these days?

    I wants it.

How far into the Rogue Isles (and by extension, the morality system), do I have to go to get access to the Patron Power pools (and the Arbiter missions to unlock them, I'm assuming?)?

This is for my all-hero Sword/Regen Scrapper. If I have to go full-villain, I'll feel dirty, but I'll do it and then come back ASAP.
  5. I'm 22 and need a respec - What have you guys come up with?
  6. I'm Babel on Infinity (and was able to get it within the last two years or so). It's a good name; mine's a Stone/Fire Tanker.

I don't replay concepts; I can just play the existing character, ya know? So you should keep it and have fun with it.
  7. Thanks for doing the math on it, Uka. And I completely forgot about being able to buy Hero Merits, so there is that.

    Coincedence?

Crow is certainly making up for lost time.

    Coincedence?

    I've only dabbled.

Besides, everything I (Project HERO) learned, he learned it from watching Crow ("I learned it from watching you, Dad!").

You can set your spending limit (I set it when I first logged in; I don't know how to access it after the fact, if anyone wants to add that). The default is $100 a month. Which is A LOT YOU GUYS!

Oh, I did have a couple of questions...

    Please verify:
First purchase with real money on the store = One Reward Token
Each additional $15 spent = One Reward Token
    $15 = 1200 points

    Is that all correct?

And then on my own specific concern - How many points is the Alpha/Omega costume pack? How much would it cost to buy each item separately? Do you save any by buying a bundle as opposed to ala carte?
  11. Jesus you guys. Ease into it!

The only thing I've spent was the 640 (?) for Beam Rifle, and I had 1200 points to begin with.

The extra storage would be nice, and I would like to fill my Paragon Rewards tiers (I'm midway through T6 or T7... Can't recall), but all in good time.

About the only other thing I'm tempted to buy is the Alpha and Omega costume sets, but all of that can wait.

I'm not even sure how one could spend $350 with what's on there now...

  13. I don't RP, but it sounds like there will be a strong RP base for those interested, at least.

I'm a casual zone PvP'er (or was, when that was a possibility on my home server), as well as an altoholic large team-enjoyer. I love doing TFs with big teams - That's the best part of the game for me.

    Exalted Intros

Hello! My real name is Chris, but my nickname in-game and in real life is Moses, so call me either. I was around at launch and for about five years solid after that before taking a break; I just got back from a one year break. I post on the forums quite often (I'd surely be a member of the Cartel without my breaks!), which is one of the reasons I could never be a "Premium" member without forum access - I need forums when I'm at work!

Speaking of which, I'm a Technical Writer, after getting my English degree two years ago.

My home server is Infinity, and I'll always have a presence there. However, I've always had very casual playtime on other servers, and Exalted may absorb all of that casual time.

I look forward to playing with and getting to know a lot of you... Sooner or later.
  15. If anyone has Hollywood and doesn't intend to play it, I'd gladly take it off your hands. I wouldn't go so far as to /getglobalname investigate and pester anyone, but this seems friendly enough.
  16. Oh, I also tried and didn't get Eternal, Molecule, Spider, Spectre, Cosmic, Achilles, Akhileez... And maybe a few others that aren't coming to mind at the moment...

The only one I really[ want is Hollywood, as I've had a character and concept in mind for years now. I actually have the character on Triumph (I think) at a low level, but I never play him because I don't know the community there or anything.

I'd give up any of the ones I have (except Maverick) if someone wanted them, but no one has mentioned them yet. I filled all 10 spots and have guilt over it since I don't know if/when I'll be playing there (though I guess we'll all know the answer to that very question as soon as next week...).
  17. I just posted in the other thread that I really wanted Tower and Hollywood, and didn't wind up with either.

I also tried making Avenger and didn't get it. I saw the guy playing it at level 4, so that's good.

I did manage to get Maverick, which is all I've ever really wanted anyway. (DALLAS!)
  18. I wanted both Tower and Hollywood, and got neither.
  19. You get the +1 by getting an Alpha Slot to Tier 3, which it bestows a level shift.

If you haven't begun the Incarnate stuff, go to Ouroboros and do Mender Ramiel's story arc. Upon completion, you'll start getting Incarnate Shards, which you can convert into components (the common level of which you can also choose as a reward from level 50 TFs). You turn these components into an ability. In the case of Alpha, it's a passive ability that acts as an extra enhancement booster on every power than can accept it. At the basic level, it's Musculature (damage), Nerve (Accuracy), Cardiac (endurance), and everyone's usual favorite, Spiritual (recharge). Get that to the third level of creation and you'll have a +1.
  20. Hm. That's unfortunate.

What primary would you suggest for hover-blasting then? When playing my Energy/Energy, I couldn't help but think that maybe he would have been the best bet, but I couldn't change his entire play style and slotting at this late stage.
  21. At what level is exchanging Astal Merits for expensive recipes a valid investment?

I have a Blaster with T3's that I run Incarnate Trials with. I had a ton of Astral Merits just built up, so I started trading the, 32 at a time, for some of the rarer and more expensive (Numina/Miracle Uniques, LotG +Rch, Kinetic Combat).

My guideline has been that it's only worth it if the recipe is selling for 100+ million influence.

I have a few characters outfitted in Set IOs (no purple sets though; they don't drop often enough for me, and I don't have the money for it), but a lot have been missing those expensive IOs, so that's how I've coped.

However, I figured you guys might actually have some numbers or something proving that it's a bad investment.

I guess I should explain my station in the game. I've played off and on since launch (five years solid or so at the beginning though, maybe 5 years, 9 months total or so), and I'm at the stage where I just renew for a month or two every once and a while (I was gone for a full year prior to this). I have a ton of characters due to my long-lived playtime and altitis, and I find myself running short on money. I can usually start a character on his journey of IO equipping with 100 million or so, and anymore than that and I'm SoL.

... And before it's suggested, I've tried playing the Market. For a solid month or so I worked at it. I wasn't good at it... I only built up around 300-500 Million after all that time, and I found that I would rather be teaming and stuff during my limited time than hanging out at the auction house. I would have maybe continued trying, but I'm pretty sure I lost all of my selling and buying inventory during one of my breaks, and as one of them could occur on a whim, I don't think it's really worth the time or risk.

SO. That's why I've been trading Astral Merits for recipes. That and Incarnate costumes aren't much of a selling point for me (when compared to recipes, at least).

    Thanks for your time.
  22. I've got the goggles on the forehead going.

I'll have to mess around with baggy; I might also end up going with a Spengler-look by using the lab coat... somehow.
  23. Yes, it was inevitable with Beam Rifle that there would be some Ghostbuster-inspired characters running around, and I fell prey to making my own Beam Rifle/Traps Corruptor.

I tried to give him a Ghostbusters-themed jump suit, but I ran into two problems:

    1) Is there not a Khaki color? What do you guys use for a Khaki? The closest I could find is a brown-ish/orange-ish that didn't quite nail it.

    2) Not really any sort of jump suit-like options. I thought there might be something in jackets, but nothing I could find.

Do you have any suggestions for either question? Pictures would help!

    Thanks for your time.
  24. Hello, blaster faithful.

I've been blasting since launch (An Ice/Fire and Energy/Ice blaster were my first two characters (both of which were eventually remodeled into different sets post-50), but at some point I got away from the blasting side of things and got more into the Blapping side of things.

But! I was thinking that I want to focus on just being a Blaster for a while, and I had a good concept for a Dual Pistols-weilder. How are the pistols when it comes to remaining in the air for as long as possible?

Secondly, what are some good secondary combinations for DP? I first made a DP/EM primarily for Boost Range, but then I thought that was somewhat counter-intuitive to my specific attempt, because I know I'd end up taking the blaps and find myself back in melee range (plus, I've played EM too many times to count now).

So what are your suggestions? /Devices is out right off the bat... Never liked it. So is /Fire, and it seems like /Dark as well (seriously, Soul Drain?).

I think the most intriguing options are Mental Manipulation, though only because I haven't played it much (looks like that's pretty melee-intensive), and I can't help thinking that mabye I had it right the first time around, and /EM is as good as I'm going to get for my particular theme.

    Thanks for the time.

    Coincedence?

What was really scary is when it first went down, it let me to my character list and the two I clicked on (with long pauses between) displayed as the generic Silver Surfer-lookin' default that character creation shows you as before you get to the costume screen. So for a brief moment, I thought I had lost my costumes.

That's TOO FAR, CROW! TOO FAR!
