Weekends are generally tough for me. But no need to move on my account.
-
I'm ET also. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights are all good.
-
I'm new to Virtue also and I have just the character to join up. But it'll be dependent upon day/time.
-
I'm actually beginning a move to Virtue from Pinnacle. It's been a long time coming but I think I want to get settled in before everyone else joins in.
-
... organize my inspirations like everyone else does. Greens, Blues, Offense, Defense, Awaken/BF
... avoid CoT missions so that I don't get the cake layer caves.
... organize my power trays the same on every character. First tray is Taunt, Aim/Build Up, ST Holds, Ranged Attacks, Melee Attacks, Self Heals, Hover. Second Tray is Hasten, Travel Powers, Mez Prot, Shields, Rains, Fly.
... have to have a good backstory to be genuinely interested in playing a character. -
After a few months of on and off marketing and taking CoH breaks, I've finally joined the club reaching 2 billion!
Thanks to everyone on this forum for providing guides and advices at various points! -
Quote:Based on CIT's reported numbers:Have you tried asking the people at Titan Network that run City of info tracker ? The new Titan Sentinel exports inf on hand back to them and stores it in the character profile.
3,679,521,639,372 liquid inf tracked. (3.6 trillion).
Imo, it's not a very representative sample because it's targeting achievement junkies (myself included) who I would find more likely to actively work to make money in the market (and get those badges).
Also, it includes characters that haven't logged in since forever and I can't be sure if that number includes characters who hide their influence. -
Today went a lot better overall. Skipping working in the niche anymore, I checked out a couple of decent churn recipes that were more expensive. I tried to keep my bidding on them low in quantity but enough to restock anything I sold relatively quickly. I'm starting to get the hang of things and feel that I'm steadily moving ahead.
I've set myself up with three goals to accomplish.
1) Finish my Ice blaster build.
2) IO out my PB (using Frankenslotting)
3) Hit 1 bil in influence.
They might not occur in any particular order but I'd like to finish all three by Thanksgiving (might seem a little long for some of you but I've been known to disappear for a month or more).
I keep my market funds mostly on my tanker since she only comes out in dire need. But since I ended up crafting more than a dozen enhancements I have moved a few to my controller's auction slots. This has caused a little bit of wealth transfer but that's okay since I normally buy recipes for slotting on my Fire/Kin.
Thanks for the responses. I'll keep checking back in. -
I'm relatively new to the market game. I've read up a lot on things to do and I have some questions. I know it's probably not the best time to get in with the volatility of the merged market but I'd really like to get a couple of my characters (namely my blaster) into purple nirvana. So, here we go...
How much liquid funds do you keep?
I seeded my tanker with 50M. At one point I was up over 150M but I'm down to about 90M. I know a lot of people have billions of INF to work with but I'm not quite there yet. So it's not really a number per se but more of a percentage of funds? I really only use WW on this character. But I have a few other characters that don't do too much and could be turned into primarily market characters once I get more INF.
How much crafted inventory do you keep?
I found a niche (mostly be accident) earlier this week and I was content with the margins (sold at 400% of cost) and churn (4/day or so). The recipe cost would fluctuate a lot so I put in a fair amount of low bids. Last night (and continuing through today) the price dropped a few million and now I'm sitting on a fair amount of the crafted enhancements and a fair amount of recipes (basically I'm overexposed). Should I try and clear the inventory? (I can still pull off around 150% of cost). Or wait it out through the weekend and sit on it a bit? Is it likely to recover with the A-merit system in place?
How much salvage do you keep?
I've mostly been buying salvage on demand now that I used up most of my stored salvage from across my characters. Do you guys keep a lot of spare salvage in the base? Or just buy it now?
Base setup?
The other questions kind of lead into this one. I have my own private base. Currently it's setup as a Tiny Hidden Plot (8x8) with a few workshops (4) and an oversight center. I've got 12 salvage racks and 3 enhancement storage tables. One of the tables is for Common IOs (I've been working on the crafting badges), one is for IOs/Hamis for slotting and the third is for market. Do you guys think this is enough space? Or will I likely need more if I plan on getting more active in the market.
Market/Merit specific character?
Is it still worth leveling up a character into the 30s specifically for market purposes? Or does the new A-merits make it meaningless? I thought I read you can select what level you want the purchased A-mert recipes?
Thank you in advance for any advice/help/answers you provide.

The best way to get real data is to play. This will likely produce data as skewed as the dev's data mining. Good luck though.

This I know. Which is why I am playing. However, the sheer amount of data necessary is more than any one player can produce based on time and powerset combinations alone. That's why I'm here asking for help from other players. -
Dear PvPers,
I used to be a steady team arena PvPer about two years ago with my SG on Pinnacle. I took a break and they headed off to WoW. Recently, Pinncale has started a PvP League and it's re-ignited my interested in PvP. Had my first match under the new rules (minus travel suppression) and while my kill totals certainly weren't what they used to be, it was still a relatively enjoyable experience.
Anyways on to the point of this post, the Pinnacle PvP League had discussed a League MVP Award as a possibility. The only problem is that in the current PvP system it's difficult to compare one player to another (especially if they use different characters for different matches). We only get two stats really from the Arena who wins and kills by player (though I recently sent a PM asking for Deaths to be included). I'm an avid baseball fan (Go Orioles!) and feel that some of the metrics they use can be adjusted and applied to our PvP system.
I'm hoping to be able to derive a single decimal value that can be used to easily compare a player's value. The problem with this is there are multiple values to adjust for including but not limited to archetype, powersets, number of players per team, etc. To derive some basic adjustments I'd need tons of data and that's why I'm posting this here.
I'm asking for your help to start compiling some data.
The are a few limitations on data. Please send information on matches that were played Post I13 changes, are held at the Super Heavy Weight level and are a 10 minute timed duel or team duel.
Now on what information I need you to send:
1. A screenshot of the final arena score window with all players and kills listed.
2. List all characters with archetype, primary, secondary and ancillary powersets.
3. List any options that were checked off (eg Travel Suppression, Temp Powers, etc)
4. Date the match was held.
5. Map that the match was on.
Now, on to what you guys get out of it.
First, I'll open up the raw data to anyone and everyone including screenshots. That way you can easily get information about your past performance or how certain ATs powersets have fared in the past.
Secondly, it will hopefully lead to an objective rating system that's better than A > B > C. These ratings can be recalculated on customized datasets such as only including certain matches (for a PvP League Season), only including certain ATs (blaster vs. blaster matches only), etc. I'm hoping this project will help spur interest in PvP.
So to summarize, I'm trying to come up with a better rating system that adjusts for ATs, powersets and other variables. All you have to do is send me an e-mail with a screenshot of the final results of the match and some other info (ATs and powersets, Arena Options, Date and Map) to pvp@psikik.net. Once I have enough data to start with I'll post a link to the website with all the data.
Thank you in advance,

I'll again offer my help with maintaining a PvP website.

Hrm. Well, if you want, I do a lot of web development, I'd be happy to setup a website with forums, team pages, statistics and such. Just let me know.

DR will be on. This is for the Pinnacle PvP League.

I'm in a similar situation as the OP. I'm looking at small team arena and my role on the team will probably be primary damage dealer.
Any suggestions on a character to work on?
Ice/Nrg Blaster
Fire/Kin Troller
Nrg/Elec Brute
Stone/Fire Tanker
FF/Nrg Defender
PB
I also have a few lower level toons that I could work up:
Fire/Psy Blaster
Kin/Ice Defender
Ice/Kin Corruptor

I like to pick 3-4 bonus types to go for. On my Claws/SR, here was my priority list:
1. Defense (to get soft capped)
2. Recharge (for a good attack chain with minimal attacks)
3. Recovery (because even though claws is cheap, spamming attacks is not)
4. Regeneration (so I don't have to kill my dps using Aid self all the time)
I also picked up +23% acc and +11% damage incidentally.
So pick a few different bonuses and go for them! IOs will *not* make you weaker unless you really want them to...and I think that'd be hard to do.

Nether plays Scrappers. Don't listen to him.
Anyways, defense on a blaster is nice. I'm up over 33% S/L on my 50 blaster. -

Like I said, I'd be down.

I'm sure it's been discussed but here's my thoughts on the player created content.
First off, woooo! I'm really stoked.
I think it will be fairly straight forward. They system in place already has elements of randomness to it. I see the design process being like this...
1) Level Range - 1-5, 5-10, 10-15, 15-20, etc.
2) Zone - Atlas Park, Hollows, Striga, Steel Canyon, etc. (Restricted by Level)
2) Map - Sewer, Office Building, Cave, City Zone, etc. (Restricted by Level)
3) Enemy Group - Skulls, Council, Knives, etc. (Restricted by Level)
4) Objectives - Glowie, Defeat All, Rescue, etc.
5) Enemy Boss - Name, Costume, AT, Power Package. (Restricted by Level)
6) Hostage - Name, Costume, AT, Power Package. (Restricted by Level)
7) Story Details and Wrap up.
And poof, press create and you're done. One thing I hope for is the ability to go back and edit missions in case you mess something up along the way.
