  1. I bubble those *other* villains because their survival (sometimes) means my victory. Or at a quicker finish. Or I am amused. Unless they piss me off. Then I let them talk to my armored gauntlet. :P

    Finally!

Go bubble lowbies in Mercy. They'll love you for it.

SFs, accolades, badges, IOing up, working on your secondary build, base building, unlocking energy rifle costume parts (2, i think, maybe 3), redoing content you may have missed via Ouroboros, etc.

Viewpoint is an important factor as well...even with my higher level characters...when moving around a map...i find that zooming all the way out, (or out as far as you are comfortable with), and rocking the camera to a higher vantage point will help me navigate the map and avoid higher level mobs at the same time...situational awareness is key to survival...plus the view looks cool

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Excellent point!

    Father/Son Duo

Mental Manipulation is a great secondary. I would also recommend /Ice.

32 Rad/Rad defender here, and even with accelerated metabolism and a res debuffed foe, even my aimed snipe does less damage than my claw scrapper's unbuffed shockwave.

I mean I still do helpful team functions, but I feel fundamentally useless besides that. Like even activating my secondaries is a end waste.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Some quick advice.

    Until the devs revisit Defenders:

    - reroll as a corruptor. You'll provide a satisfactory amount of team protection and be able to provide better damage, both solo and grouped. When Going Rogue goes live switch to blue. Wave to the defenders in the museums as you pass 'Go'.

    - reroll as a controller. Like the corruptor your secondary is more than sufficient for helping a team, and you trade your weak secondary for a primary that builds on the safety factor as well as adds damage (esp. past SOs). Add pets to flavor.

    - roll a Rad/Sonic defender. Sonic is the sweet pill that makes defender life better.

I not sure which is more pathetic. The 20+ OPs like this every week, or the group of folks that feel the need to respond to everyone of them.

    Countdown to the irony... 3, 2, 1...
  8. Oh and MA caused the breakup of the Beetles.
  9. In the beginning, ED, GDN and MA took turns beating up baby jeebus. Then they invented global warming, sired Chris Crocker, and then went back in time to write all the lyrics for Warrant. True story.

Either you are joking, or you are a waking dreamer.

The Radiation set has never been available live for blasters. Ever. Since Beta. Period.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Neither has Kinetics, of course.

Blasters will be getting Radiation Blast with Issue 16, though. Maybe the OP is playing in the future?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Maybe! Whatever the OP is having, I'll have some too! :P

    Just out of curiosity....

If fire control didn't have imps, and illusion didn't have phantom army, would we be having this discussion?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes, because there are more powers for controllers than PA or IMPS.

My Plant / Rad is a group-killing beast, for instance.

I'm all for leaving controller alone, no nerf.

Instead, buff Defenders damage 5-10% and provide a better inherent. I like a lot of the ideas floated in this thread.

The Radiation set has never been available live for blasters. Ever. Since Beta. Period.
  14. One thing to remember - it is 99% possible to find a way past outdoor mobs in the game and get anywhere you want to go, even on foot with no travel powers. I've been able to take level 1 characters all the way into high level zones like Brickstown or Peregrine Island. So there is no need to get killed getting anywhere if you are careful.

Learn the aggro radius of mobs. Know that mobs tend to spawn with ample room between them to skitter past. Use fences and terrain to your advantage. The devs made it possible to find ways up most vertical surfaces if you look hard enough.

These skills will prove valuable in the Hollows Especially if you don't have any temp travel powers from the Safeguard missions.

    And welcome to Paragon!
  15. Whenever I join a PUG and I hear the phrase "We're gonna need a healer" in a team, I brace myself for an interesting team experience.

Even worse when its said when there is already an /Empathy or /Thermal controller in the team.

Or when I get a /tell asking me "We'll let u join if u can healz. Can u healz?" O_o
  16. Or, leave the buildling intact and make targetable some Inf farmer NPCs...?

I'd say it was the objectification of other people that raised the term 'sociopath' in question. Sociopaths see people as objects for their gratification.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's not what sociopath means at all. Sure, that attitude may be common among sociopaths, but it is not unique to them nor is it what makes them a sociopath. A sociopath is someone who lacks a moral compass, to put it in its simplest terms. ( Not that they simply have a different set of morals, but that they simply act with no regards to any moral code whatsoever )

    [/ QUOTE ]

True. I wasn't giving the definition of the disorder, merely stating a chief characteristic. Obviously, someone who views others as objects also likely lacks a conscience ('moral compass'). But there are a whole hosts of characteristics, including narcissism, compulsive lying, aggression, paranoia, secrecy, poor impulse control, low threshold for tolerating boredom, inability to form or maintain relationships, etc.

Trying to uniformly describe sociopathy / APD is like trying to uniformly describe schizophrenia.

Alright, I need to find a server where people still team up to do regular missions.
The three servers I play on...Protector, Justice and Guardian...all seem to just be AE servers now.

It's to the point where I am forced to either solo or team in AE farm missions to level up.

Are there any servers out there that still do regular missions?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    QR

Why not join a nice Supergroup? Mine does non-AE stuff all the time. Task Forces, Radios, lowbie, high-level, mission arcs, badge hunting, etc. It also nets you a nice regular group of people to chat with / team.
  20. QR

I'd say it was the objectification of other people that raised the term 'sociopath' in question. Sociopaths see people as objects for their gratification. Viewing other players as objects for your playing pleasure without the provisio of treating them also as other people with feelings is one expression of that.

You likely run into sociopaths frequently. Most of them do not kill other people and make the headlines. They simply use them to their own benefit without remorse. Call it lack of empathy.

I got invited to a team once, then kicked out promptly about a minute after. They said my name was "Offensive"

Well if My mock character was offensive (when based off the Reichman) then so is CoH/V Content and they should just cancel their sub. Seriously, if theres a AV called "The Riechman" Then me having "The Riechman of Hell" Isn't that much worse... Seriously. I'm sure everybody knows how many demon themed villians/heroes are out there runnin/flying/jumping about and they gotta flip over a name... (when I've seen much worse) ;Yeah, if you don't like the name, don't invite in the first place.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Which is the funniest part of your story, lol. Not sure I've ever invited anyone without knowing/viewing their name!
