    Ghosting.

would this be in the same context as people who insist on flying directly to a bank when you have 8 on the team and dont actually realise that by doing that they trigger LOADS of longbow and then wonder why everyone is wiped out.

I find the mayhem missions are easily done in the time frame if you take your time and kill quickly and efficiently means less chance of ending up in the prison which is slow.

I think cryptic should seriously cosider looking at the time frame a Task force should take i think anything over 2 hours is way too long. And i was on a positron task force about 2 years ago that took 12 hours (yes i really did) thats not fun when the game isnt fun then im all for ghosting. BUT if it can be done in a reasonble time i dont see why it has to be ghosted.
  2. thing was i read on the internet that other NCsoft games have similar problems. I suspect its a vista problem which is why the updated drivers didnt sort out the problem and infact made it worse.
  3. ive set up and installed that hotfix SO far it seems to be stable ill let you know if it all goes belly up. I dont understand why vista didnt automatically install this hotfix in my patch update Autoupdater. Seems incredibly bizare that this kind of known problem wasnt included in the existing patchs.
  4. Is this a known VISTA problem and if so when is cryptic going to get around to fixing the problem. because currently the software is a bit deceptive when it says "designed for nvidia" it obsivouly isnt. I know this isnt a isolated problem because ive read a lot of other posts.

as for the fixing method already gone through it didnt change anything. My machine runs fine on somthing as buggy as age of conan so i dont know why it fails on city of heroes. Can someone please get back to me with a reply a REALSITIC reply Here is my complete DXDIAG.

  5. pitty they didnt reduce the costs of updating the plots downwards. I would personally love to do raids against other bases but unless i find 1.6 million prestige or how ever much it is i dont think im going to be doing that .

Shame i enjoy the bases but currently its just used for teleporting new toons around and the fire/ice thing.

really do hope they take a look at the cost because not everyone can recruit like 50 odd players to all support prestige farming at the same time.
  6. O well guys some of you might have seen my master midn roaming around "chaosity" well decided after hitting 43 that the game has lost its appeal.

    So tatty bye
  7. i would recomend a stealth power as well so you can pick your targets also its funny standing around visible while all your bots are invisible
  8. i have to agree as someone reasonably new to making bases, i have ended up having to destroy items ive placed and then only told later that they dont work or broken.

I run a reasonably small sg because i just cant get people to stay dont know why.

So salvage is not necesarily at a premium but it is frustrating when i go "cool made somthing" deploy it with the prestige only to find it doesnt work due to lack of control.

I do think teleporters need a rethink and most of the current base situation needs to be overhauled i dont think its working out as its meant to.
  9. i would recomend that you get air superiority and flight as a movment set. As nearly every single tank you come across has gone super jump or super speed. And the few that have flight you can knock out the air with either web grenade or if they get to close air superiority.

Also i got grant invisibility + invisibility it gives you stealth pets which you can then pick and choose your fight. Some tanks can see through your invisibility which is a shame but when you go up against squishies it doesnt stop them.

I would Also say plan your build so you have at least Caltrops/Acid motar/and posion trap all three of these are very very handy at preventing other stealthers from sneaking up on you as well as reducing the resitances of other fighters.

Other than that i would say just be prepared to be attacked by spine scrappers alot.
  10. well i pvp now and again and to be honest i enjoy fighting against hero's but when your ganked by the multiple spine scrapper squads roaming around. You can understand why people dont pvp. Where is the fun in to going into any pvp zone and die in 3 or 4 hits after being imobilised.

if people played different characters instead of the current FOTM or most overpowered build they can. Then pvp would be more fun. The other issue is that you get people who after they die will log on to their villain / hero char and berate the other person.

I enjoy pvp btu i think the poster above put it on the head you need incentive to pvp. Like if you got prestige from killing the enmey or even double xp bonuses while in the pvp zones.
  11. Chaosity

    Duel Rules??

I Always say this to anyone dueling in any game. "if you want a fair dule then load up street fighter 2 both log in as ryu and bingo complelty fair dueling environment".

Duels are for beat em ups not for mmo's
  12. i think i know what the major unbalancing issue is with spines regen or spines anything. And its the snipe range lunge.

I do personally think either keep its imobilise and reduce its range or keep its range and remove its imobilise.
  13. i found with detonator the name does stay there for a while so technically i asume you would be able to summon a ghost from the remains.

But not seen any traps zombie masterminds most go zombie/dark
  14. with my traps robotics mm now respecced. Ive dropped the first blast power as it is currently hitting for around 10 next to the other blast power which htis for 100+.

Ive got all the pets + all the buffs no single target heal doodad. (took medicine instead) dropped all the stamina powers. I dont have photon grendade (just didnt see the point) and have

All the traps except triage beacon (sucks) and seeker drones (pets get em anyways) ive got assault from leadership flight + stealth and grant invisibility.

and now have missions set to hardest setting and the only thing that causes me problems is generally when the room has more than 3 leutenants in it or they are council (because warwolfs keep running off into more agro)

other than that im enjoying my build its very powerful when grouped up with my kinetics corruptor friend
  15. To be honest when i respec my traps robotic mastermind. Triage beacon is the first to go.

its one of those abilities that is meant to increase your hp regen rate. IE for down time periods in a group but to be honest for the respawn time and the fact its stationary the triage beacon is an incredibly poor replacment for directed heal.

It wouldnt be so bad if like the force field generator it followed you around or you use it like a pbaoe hp regen off the mastermind or even off a pet.

But its just so limited ive done it where i have set it up then had to move out of its radius litterally 10 seconds after it goes up because ive killed everything in the area.

I would say it might be better if they linked a few more abilities into triage beacon such as END regen, HP regen, maybe a defence buff or even damage increase/accuracy.

Then it would be a nice power as it stands it sucks. Im dumping mine as soon as i can respec.
  16. who cares about dueling, if i see someone fighting another person i add on the fight. They can whine and complain as much as they like but there wasnt anything stated when i log into the zone saying "o btw dont add on fights dueling happens".

Now if cryptic or ncsoft or whoever implemented a dueling option as part of the arena system then i wouldnt have a problem.

But the whole dueling phenomena is all down to the epeen culture of "my build is better than yours" and im more leet.

As for the person who grief killed you i would have sent a nice pm saying "thanks muppet" then proceeded to follow him around the zone adding on all his fights.

Its just one of those things you come across in every singel MMO with pvp elements attached you end up with tards plain and simple.
  17. Well it was a prime example last night i was fighting a ice tank and it was still one sided to the tank vs my mastermind. (still got to learn how to pull pets back for bodyguard) however the difference in the fight between the ice tank and the spine scrapper was the time it took for the ice tank to eventually kill me.

The ice tank took a good 30 seconds with a bit of running around before he eventually caught up with me ok the fight was still over pretty quickly but it was a good fight.

The spine scrapper ran in (with super speed) fired the imobilise spine thing before i could even recall my pets i was dead.

Thats the difference in fights, it wouldnt be too bad if the fight was longer but it wasnt i personally think that there should be a cool down on movement powers such as there is with flight.

If super speed was the same as flight in that you were thrown out of speed for a short time then i wouldnt have an issue it would mean that i might have time to recall my pets or fire a heal or somthing.

either way i do not like spine scrappers (with rejuv) and upon encountering them in any pvp zones i leave. Which at the end of the day ruins pvp for me and the spine scrapper.
  18. Just wondering why every single pvp zone i go in is flooded with spine/rejuv scrappers.
  19. well after some serious recruiting and basically starting alts to fund the base we may have a teleporter room going live as soon as people deposit the salvage i need to make the teleporters.

It just seems incredibly bizare that NCsoft wanted pvp to be spread over the heros/villians games within the bases.

(which people tell me is broken)

However i dont want to be involved in pvp if my base is going to be trashed because it will take another 2 months to rebuild. (+ more alts)

Ncsoft need to consider that bases should be disposable i mean they dont offer that much functionality to the game. Teleporters are the only thing going and even then arnt really a requirment. (takes a minute longer to get somewhere or you ahve to use tp friend for a low level)

Seems to me bases are expensive for the hell of it however im not one for jumping through hoops for no company. If im having fun ill stay if its a chore ill leave. Just because im enjoying the game now doesnt mean i wont be enjoying it if im still having to scrounge and beg just to get a bit of prestige to have an extra room.

Prestige needs to equal infamy then i could apretiate base raiding and having stuff blown up.
  20. Im just wondering why ncsoft made the cost of base's in general so massivly high that unless you have a 75 man sg running every day that you cant hope of having at least a half decent base. I understand that a single person couldnt possibly defend a HUGE base against attack.

as it stands ive tried recruiting practically none stop on villians defiant and unless im offering 24 hour power leveling services noone is interested in joining.

Any chance that NCsoft could implement an underpopulated bonus or just reduce the cost of items by about 90% ?
  21. Ive got a robotics traps master mind and notice that very few masterminds take traps as a secondary ability.

I took it so it would fit in with my character design. However its only recently that i respecced out of a lot of other abilities such as healing and retook some of my trap secondaries (whats the point in having a secondary power pool if you dont use it i may as well or rerolled)

However the abilities that seem the strongest in traps is Force field generator and detonator everything else seems either on an excessivly long respawn timer or just weak.

Should i be bothering with any of the traps abilities or am i slotting them badly .IE not at all.
  22. Hi started an SG with some friends of mine and im looking to recruit some more people. I will be eventually organising badge hunting missions, task force raids, helping with mission arcs etc etc.

However trying to find people who are committed on villians is proving difficult so if your in a dead sg or want to group with some other people drop me a line on chaosity.

PS we have a kinetics coruptor :P

our website is at www.deathjesters.org however not gotten around to sticking in a cov section yet as its currently set up for dark age of camelot.
