It also seems to involve a lot more straight up killin' baddies than BAF, yet offers Psychic Incarnate XP for Judgement and Lore abilities, meaning you'll unlock those slots in fewer runs than you would by doing repeated BAFs.

Quote:It's not like it's worth it to put any other type of enhancement in a Mastermind pet upgrade power to begin with. They also don't expire, so you don't have to spit out a new upgrade every two minutes barring the death of a pet.As someone with a ton of masterminds, this is hardly ever actually a problem if you slot an endredux or two.
But for my Kins and Therms, this means respecs to put an extra slot and End Redux enhancement in each of those powers. And that's just the 50s (Kins) who have access to decent enhancements--I think I've only got one Therm high enough to use SOs. Lowbie shielders will be casting shields less often as the result of the endurance increase, making them less valuable in teams, which means fewer people will play them, and that leads to further disparity between the number of buffers vs. damage dealers in the end game. -

HOLY CRAP. That's a whole issue worth of stuff there.
Of the stuff that hasn't been previously revealed, here are my feelings...
The Good:
Account Rewards -- I play mostly on one of two characters, and the Incarnate content has led me to neglect some characters that I truly enjoy playing. Being able to earn rewards on one character and pass them along to another on the same account means that I'll be able to fill specific holes on teams, rather than just saying "But my Scrapper is the only one with the Incarnate Shifts!"
Open Leagues, and Invite In Progress -- a bonus Astral Merit and damage/recharge buff for not locking people out of a trial, and the ability to pick up extra people who may have missed the initial recruitment? Hell yes!
The (Potentially) Bad:
Group Area Buffs -- My buff characters tend to have endurance issues as it is... they're going to be chewing trays of blues with the additional endurance requirement that this "upgrade" will cause. Just ask any Mastermind who has to rebuff after bringing back a single dead pet.
EDIT: Just saw this post from Zwillinger--
Quote:Okay, I no longer have any complaint about the AoE Buff upgrade.2 things...
The buffer will not be affected, even if they are in range of the buff target.
also
The endurance cost does not change, so this is an across the board buff.

I feel you. I was hoping for Freakshow, as I have two Freakshow-themed villains that would enjoy being able to call some of their homeboys in to wreck faces now and then. -
Quote:I've seen rednames acknowledging that you couldn't transfer from a US server to a former EU server and vice-versa. But no, I did not know about (or see a redname post regarding) the aforementioned fix last night. Why we haven't had a red name announcement stating that they were fixed (or acknowledging that were broken) is beyond me though.
Still, it's good news! -
I wish it wasn't such a pain in the butt to move your game installation from one directory to another (i.e., outside of the Program Files directory, access to which is stringently controlled by UAC), but alas, it's a headache to do so.
When I built my newest PC, I changed the install location to "D:\Games\City of Heroes\" and thus never have issues with UAC during updates. -
Quote:Agree 100% with this. (The rest of the post, less so, but I don't disagree with it either.)Not being able to change the color of male hair under the hats is something that should be fixed ASAP. Considering the moustaches are colorable (to an extent) the same should carry over to hair.
My steampunk leprechaun just doesn't look right with brown hair. -
Quote:Emphasizing that last bit before the impending fight starts...remember that you can purchase character transfers now at 50% off, and save them for later!
Yes, the trans-Atlantic server transfers should work now, and yes, it's super annoying that they don't. But you'll only have yourself to blame if you don't take advantage of the sale and buy some transfer tokens while they're discounted! -
Quote:You mean like these?- Animal-related additions. This may be more of a personal point, but I'm sure that I am not alone. I love human characters with animal traits, such as ears, tails, etc. and I feel as though CoX is lacking in terms of selection. Yes, there is a good deal already, but creating a fox or wolf (werewolves are overrated), the options are rather slim, if there are any. Add to that that there is no option for feathers. No feathers in hair. No bird 'tail'. There are no claws, or close to none (I believe there is one or two options for 'hand-claws'), especially those related to the feet. Yes, it may look weird to see someone walk around with an eagle's talon, but it sure would look good when s/he flies with it.
It's not EVERYTHING you asked for (no bird tail, no fox parts other than a bushy tail), but it's got some pretty good werewolf and catpeople parts. -
The patch notes have been up most of the afternoon. http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=261447

It was a bug. Rebirth was picking up healing bonuses from inventions and other powers when it shouldn't have. All they did was make it work exactly the way they told us it worked.

Stay out of farms until you get your first 50, and play your character as much as you can.
But at the same time, don't rush it... make as many alts as you want.
Experiment with slotting and new powers on your own before you start asking people to make builds for you. (The people who make and rate builds are generally only interested in maximizing peformance, and may frown upon certain power choices that you feel are worth taking.)
Don't be afraid to ask questions, make mistakes, or admit that you're new to the game. -
Unsigned, sorry. I get that you're asking to keep the current possible level shift at +3, but there just isn't any real need for it other than "I don't want Lore/Destiny powers".
If you don't want them, just slot them for the level shifts and don't bother to put them in your tray. -
I agree with Leandro, it sounds like an admin rights issue.
Personally, I installed CoH to a non-default directory outside of the regular Program Files directory, so I never have to deal with this. There's no reason for it to be in the Program Files directory anyway, especially since things like savable costumes and Mission Architect files came into being. -
My bad, I was going off memory and for some reason I was thinking it could stack up to 8 times instead of 4.
I think you mean 60% resistance to a DEBUFF type, correct? -
I should hope to be there, but not with bells on, because that would be silly.

Well, when a mommy blob and a daddy blob REALLY love each other...
No, you need to assemble a large group into the zone you want to raid and have them start taking out the Giant Monsters there. Once enough have been defeated, Hami will spawn, and the teams can focus on him. -
Energy Assault/Willpower. Gotta get my DBZ-style fight on.

According to Google-Fu, your laptop uses an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650.
ATI's latest drivers for that card should be available from the following link:
http://www2.ati.com/drivers/mobile/c...4-bit_util.exe
Try downloading this package, then uninstalling your existing drivers completely (even going so far as to use Driver Sweeper in Safe Mode to remove the remnants), then running the installer after a reboot.
FYI, laptop manufacturers rarely keep up-to-date graphics drivers on their site, unless they have some sort of proprietary chipset. You're almost always going to have better luck visiting the chip builder's site. -

It won't record your teammates' STATS (their drops, damage, etc), but it will record any defeats made by your team.
You'll notice that when one of your teammates KOs something, it shows a message like "Teammmate_Name has defeated Enemy_Name!" followed by a line with the XP and inf rewards, and then any drops you happen to receive. HeroStats uses these lines to differentiate what defeats were made by you--you get a message that says "You have defeated Enemy_Name!"--and which defeats were made by your teammates.
While it doesn't matter WHO defeated the enemy, this is how HeroStats keeps a log of what got defeated and what rewards you got as a result.
Basically, it gives a total kill-count for your team, what you killed, and how many drops you personally received as a result. We can take that info and generate an actual kill-per-shard ratio, which can conclusively prove (over several runs, mind you) whether LGTF gives better rewards versus other content as you believe.
And no, it shouldn't cause any issues to run HeroStats at the same time as the Titan Sentinel. I run them both. -
Quote:No, JUST YOU. One report is all that's needed; we need to see how many total enemies the team is defeating. Hero Stats automatically records any kill that one of your teammates makes. If I understand this request clearly. I was suggested that I and all of my teammates should install herostats and record statistics, is this correct?
Having records from your teammates would be interesting, but is unnecessary. The only records we need are yours. And they need to be purged at the start of every LGTF so each run is shown separately. -
Quote:Nope, it caps too low to make it worth it on big targets like AVs (4% resistance debuff is the cap from layering Reactives, even from multiple sources), and the lower-end targets all die too quickly to make much use of a 10% stacked resistance debuff. You're still way better off with the fire damage proc.I was wondering if they change reactive to proc once every 10 sec. chance on each enemy then would that make the 75% damage resistance debuff more viable to increase overall dps?
Quote:If they make the change they should offer a free or cheap side grade for reactive.
If you weren't interested in the damage, then why'd you take Reactive to begin with? -
Emphasized. You have an opinion. You FEEL that the LGTF gives the best rewards.
You say you haven't seen evidence to the contrary, yet you're not providing the evidence requested to prove your point. Until proven by data, your "point" can only be an opinion, and will never be the fact you claim it is.
