  1. Pretty neat!

I voted, and it looks like I'm disturbingly with the 'in' crowd. Most of my picks are winning.
  2. It is an utterly bizarre experience.

I haven't picked up #6 yet, but I expect it to make no more sense than the rest of the series.

I have vague hopes of reading the whole thing together when it's done and seeing if it coheres any then, but...

    No.

    It just ain't gonna happen.

This is a rare insight into the unedited mind of an artist who thinks he can write.

Either that, or a sad cry for help from an early-onset Alzheimer's patient.
  3. You don't know how hard the decision was to respec my brute out of the taunt proc in his Invincibility. The lure of inherent Stamina was just too great, so I finally went for it.

But dang, I miss being able to stand around slowly killing mobs with awesomeness.
  4. Macros scare me.

But yes, it's been obvious for some time now that I need to do something about my power trays. Cutting it back to 6 trays would be about right, 3 down and 3 across.

    *goes off to read*
  5. Now I'm torn between 88ing it into an insta-base for my retired novelty characters or putting up a bid on a PvP proc. I've never owned a PvP set or built a large base from scratch.

    Hm.

May have to go make another 2 billion...
  6. Smooshface Cat gives this thread 2 Thumbs Up!

  7. I've posted before about how this forum has given me plenty of tips on how to make inf with limited amounts of effort, and now here's the proof:

I've had this amount before (and plenty more) but never kept it long enough to take a pic. Now I've actually got 2 billion that I don't have an immediate use for. Yay? After outfitting last year's 50 with shinies over the course of January and February, I just kept the moneymaking going. So this is the work of, hm, about a month for me.

Nothing fancy, mostly just crafting A-merit recipes and selling them for 200 million a pop. Oh, I also dabbled in a bit of market manipulation, just to see how it worked. You can thank or blame me for the current state of Human Blood Samples.

Any tips on what to use it for? I'm probably a few months away from another 50 and there are only so many costume contests I can fund.
  8. My understanding was that the PvP IOs provided their bonuses no matter what level you exemped down to.

At least, that's what Paragon Wiki has to say on the subject.

I don't actually own any myself, but unless someone has personal experience that says otherwise I don't think it matters what level the PvP proc is.
  9. Allllmost bought this for my wife last christmas: The Magnetic Spinning Tardis

But she's got enough stuff crowding her desk at the moment. When the little zen fountain dies, I'll go for this.
  10. OK,

Downloaded it and reset the preferences to make it as unobtrusive as possible. So far, so good, looks simple enough. With any luck, I'll have a chance to try it out later on tonight.

My old desktop icons didn't go away though. Should they have?
  11. I honestly don't care how much faster the new loader works. What I care about is how much memory it eats and if it tries to stay resident on the system after it's done. Basically, how much damage to my system am I being expected to endure in the name of NCSoft's marketing department?

/edit- the timing of posts makes it look like I'm being snarky to Spacenut, but I'm not. I'm being snarky to what I've heard about the new loader.
  12. Meanwhile, on topic:

Yes, I would happily delay any or all of the entire Incarnate system to get more mythic followers than Joe Praetorian or his Roomba. The current implementation smacks of too little time being given to the art team to make decent pets and too much desire to tie everything Incarnate to the Going Rogue income-stream.

Do I think we'll actually get different pets?

    No.

I distinctly recall the red-name response when the exact same b!tching erupted with regards to villainside epic powers. There was a substantial number of players who didn't want their powers to be tied to Lord Recluse's flunkies. They were told, as I'm 100% positive we will be told now with regard to Lore pets, that the content was optional and if they didn't like it, they didn't have to do it.

Years later, we've seen that attitude adjusted and no one is locked into any particular epic powerset.

You would hope the dev team would learn from past mistakes. But corners have to get cut somewhere, I suppose.

    So yeah, some nobody.

    So far.

And it looks to be exactly like this for at least the next 6 months, at the pace this team is working.

Apparently, creating task forces is hard and consumes the time of the entire development team.

    :/

I know that War Witch said that after incarnates, they would focus on content.

I just didn't realize that meant they'd be skipping regular content until 'after incarnates', and that 'after incarnates' would be approximately when the mayan calendar kills us all.
  15. What's good about PvP zones now, as opposed to the way they used to be?

    Hm.

It is now much easier for my squishies to go get the fabulously overpowered temp powers in the PvP zones.

Because A: They've been buffed up against the PvE opponents in those zones
and B: There's no actual PvP happening there to stop them.

Please feel free to apply the same genius design to AE. I don't use it much either, but I'm sure there's some way you can wreck it for its intended player base and make it unintentionally exploitable for me.

/editing to add that that up there is sarcasm, by the way. I normally wouldn't go out of my way to make this point, but the boneheaded handling of PvP for the past couple of years implies that not only is subtlety lost here, so is sarcasm, irony and anything more sophisticated than 6 year old fart humor.

Question 5: Is migrating to the NCsoft Launcher mandatory?

Answer 5: Yes. In order to implement new game and account services, the NCsoft Launcher will soon be the only way to load the City of Heroes game client. After this migration is completed, the City of Heroes game updater can no longer be used to launch City of Heroes.
Was anything other than this necessary?

If we're going to get this rammed into us whether we want it or not, don't waste time on the whole "Oh, this is for your own good" BS.

Simply say, "We're changing the way we are willing to do business with you. If you wish to continue to do business with us, you will comply with our new model."

If you really feel the need for further commentary, go for irony: All hail Emporer Cole!
  17. Really?

No one mentioned Big Trouble In Little China? (at 99 minutes and PG-13)

When you are tired of Jack Burton, you are tired of life!

I don't even know what you're trying to say here.

Intrepid? I don't think it means what you think it means.

  19. My first reaction is, "States, you dog! Breaking that poor little spy gal's heart like that."

But then I thought, "He's been having a really busy week, what with half the population of 12 shards wanting to work with him. I'll cut him some slack 'til we see his side of it."

Beautiful as always, particularly the reveal and her final walk-away.

    *applause*

Yeah he has the tendency to go way over the top, hide the feet and can´t keep deadlines... so what?
He´s still one of my favourite Comic Artists, and gave us two of Marvel´s most iconic 90´s Heroes: Cable & Deadpool.
I mean all that hate and ****... does that give you something or what?
Can you draw better than Rob? If yes, why is he succesfully drawing and publishing comics and you not? If not, cool your engines, stop criticising (<- that word looks wrong, is it?) and try to actually become better than him.
I can only hope the above is meant to be sarcasm or misplaced irony.

If not, maybe you should have a look at this, instead. Or, perhaps this. I'm not going any farther into the google searches because honestly, as a Liefeld apologist, you already know why the world rightfully despises him.

Meanwhile, back on topic- YES PLEASE let there be hats/hoods/hair with bestial heads/faces!!!
