ComicMix website are doing a single-elimination tournament for 64 popular webcomics here

Mix March Madness Tournament

where you can vote for your favourites.

Been voting on the ones I know, some surprises there actually, looks like Penny Arcade may go down in the first round to Hark! A Vagrant! Also, Ctrl-Alt-Del is likely to win it's round against Ratfist.

I know people here like webcomics so thought it would interesting to see who wins it. They are adding different ones each days, so thought I'd post the relevant links for people to add their own votes.

Dinosaur Comics vs Sinfest

The Gutters vs saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal

Cyanide and Happiness vs Full Frontal Nerdity

Least I Could Do vs XKCD

MegaTokyo vs VG Cats

Kawaii Not vs Garfield Minus Garfield

Kindergoth vs FreakAngels

Virtual Shackles vs Duelling Analogs

Awkward Zombie vs Evil Inc

Ctrl+Alt+Del vs Ratfist

A Distant Soil vs Dresden Codak

Gronk vs Zeke Is Hungry

Girl Genius vs My Sister The Freak

Achewood vs Hyperbole and a Half

Amazing Super Powers vs Sheldon

The Adventures of Dr McNinja vs Alien Loves Predator

I'll post up the others as they get posted, but you can see what's coming in the first link

There's a few webcomics not in there as well, surprised not to see Order Of The Stick in the list somewhere?

I went through his posts and placed my votes for everything that I've had some passing familiarity. And it looks like most of the stuff I like, ie that I read regularly, are losing.

Pretty neat!

I voted, and it looks like I'm disturbingly with the 'in' crowd. Most of my picks are winning.

Ok, Round 1 is done, some interesting results....

Round 1 winners and Round 2 pairings up

Pleased to see Penny Arcade get through, seemed wrong to have them go out first round!!

Torn by the LICD and XKCD pairing as I love them both, seems to pur geeks out there won as XKCD beat Rayne.......I'm sure he'd love that though

Biggest surprise for me is Garfield Without Garfield not going through, guess it's more cult than I thought it was.

New voting starts later today!

My interest in this has just been eliminated by the need to register.

Looks like I won't be moving on.

I'm sad about that one too, but on a brighter note Questionable Content won its slot, ya!

(But I wish Menage a 3 had been in the tourney, its most definitely NSFW but I've been following it for years)

I just noticed that Schlock Mercenary isn't in this contest.

Sounds more like clever and sound marketing, to me

Wups, lost track of this thread.

Hum, I'll go back in and try voting again, but there was definitely some registration thing in round 2.

Still pulling for PA and Erfworld myself, and while I don't read A Distant Soil, it's a worthy competitor.

Meh. The marketing is on ComicMix's part to begin with. If that site pulled a tenth of the Alexa traffic rankings of, say, Newsarama or Bleedingcool, their little bracket event might have attracted the notice of the heavy-hitters that are in finals. (The fact that most of my personal favorites were eliminated after the second round is irrelevant.)
