Yeah, same conclusion I seem to be at. even if paragon is slightly more southerly than providence.

Quote:No, that's a fair point, but the current numbers suggest atrocity, rather than just tragedy, Tragedy happens when even one person dies, but you would rapidly learn as a CoH verse hero to concentrate on the ones in front of you rather than the ones other people are dealing with.Ok i was rushed before as i was on my break and tbh a little bit annoyed, so i apologise for being a git, really, im sorry for being a total *** and i really didnt mean to have a go.
I was just trying to say that simply ignoring a major event or a character is....just wrong, i mean, your ignoring what happens, technically re-writing history right? so why not just re-write the number?
When anyone talks about the massacre they will most likely talk about how horrible it all was, all the children that died and what not, i mean i doubt people will give exact numbers, either 12 or 1000 is still a massive tradegy in my opinion, obviously not everyones but im simply trying to say that ignoring the whole event seems like the last resort kind of thing.
You can ignore the entire event or just one number, i would always choose the number, lower it myself and if anyone really did want to go into specifics then that you could argue with, though i doubt anyone would go into exact details about an event like that.
I realise that the forum didnt start like this and i am sorry for implying otherwise, i realise that looking at the very first post of this thread, my post doesnt apply at all.
Right now however im talking about CB's giant robot attack, it needs a proper solution or a compromise, not people having a go at other people, obviously i realise thats a tad hypocritical of me, once again im sorry for that, i wasnt thinking.
Hopefully CB will jump back in and maybe a real compromise can be reached, one that makes all involved, or not involved, happy.
When it is an atrocity, everybody has to respond.
and that's people's issue as far as i can tell. -

Quote:Wow, you constructive soul. I mean, this is just the most startling and incisive comment I have ever read. Then go play those games, not this one.
This game is different. Get over it.
On topic, the Pretoria missions to feel more solo based and the volume of mez effects so early in the game is always off putting, the vazlilock are a prime example of this. -
My pet peeves are mostly really petty.
Stuff like the Rad/energy divide since it is non existent, if you emitting radiant energy it still radiant energy what ever frequency it's at.
Particle emissions, now that's something else.
So in the end none of these fudges annoy me because they are trying to work with crappy game mechanics, as long as they aren't a total ****** about it, it's not really that bad. -
Otrera AKA Cassandra Zero, for ever in her Heart just Cassandra.
* Where does your character get his or her laundry done?
In her Founders Falls apartment, it has a laundry Room.
* In a philosophical discussion of death, how would your character describe the perfect death?
Death is failure.
* What is your character's favourite food or drink? What food or drink do they absolutely hate?
She loves Italian food and wine, loathes the canteen style food she used to get at school.
* Describe your character's personal bedroom. Is it in your super group's base or somewhere else?
Again it is in Founders Falls, Neat to the point of being severe, too long in the army, with a large attached bathroom, which is her favourite place in the flat.
* How would your character's father describe him or her?
He wouldn't, she doesn't know him, may be dead for all she knows.
* Would the description be any different coming from his or her mother?
No, she died from complications to do with the pregnancy.
* If you (the player) were to meet the character, what would you most DISLIKE about the character, from a personality standpoint. (Do NOT think of what you don't like about limitations on power sets...think personality)
She has the same wide arrogant streak i have, and you never get on with people you see your own flaws in. -
CoHs mission structure has needed a though going over for a while now, Don't think they have the time or the personell numbers to do it.

I enjoyed district 9 a lot.
Asking for films to explain everything obliquely gets you midichlorains, instead it uses the story to explain a lot of things.
It is 2 films, the documentary made after the ship leaves that uses footage from the time, and Wicus point of view while it actually happened.
If you don't understand what underpins a technology, you won't ever be able to replicate it, especially if can't tell if it works or not.
the reason the governments of the world weren't in there was because none of the tech could be directly salvaged, it couldn't fall in to the wrong hands because there was no way for humans to get it work for them, given the drones level of only vague co operation, so had cleared out after 5 or so years and contracted out the long term study to private contractors.
Which incidentally they do in real life too.
as for pod, they were searching for it, but they had never actually seen were it came down, only that it did some ware in the shanty town that was already set up by then.
The tech is advanced enough that i could well change it density and gravimetric profile to match the surrounds it is hiding in (see the "gravity gun" the suit used) -
I didn't have to, god was an English man.

Quote:Wow, so shockingly funny i am at a loss for words, you need your own TV show.I shan't stand for this! You bossy bully man you!
I'm Cass and you're a pompous twit. You twittering twit, twittering all over twitter like a twit!
Erm... anyway stop throwing your weight around.
What?! How dare you, you... you PC person you!
Oh yeah? Well you're... you're non-PC! Yeah how dyu like that?
Hi I'm Luke, I started this. But I'm like really sorry now.
Oh hey Luke.
Blimey look at the time. Anyone for tea?
Two of you, one of me, I call that Pimms o' clock. -
Quote:You would! oh hooray! let me get on to my MP at once. The nation must be informed!1. I'd prefer some one like Pious to be honest, to certain people, particularly those who never seemed to have heard the phrase "The pot calling the kettle black.
As for pots, kettles and their similar nature, clearly you can't see the wood for the trees. -
Quote:But of course you are.I'm sure we all know who I speak of when I say the overbearing throwing around of weight is simply characteristic of this person and his words and actions must never to be taken to heart. He stands as no representation of us union roleplayers.
pompous twit. -
Quote:While i would agree with that, It still felt like it is really only specialising that will allow you to do it with out grinding away.No it doesn't. I've done it when the only debuffs have been a therm-rad, and when debuffs buffs have only been a kin.
I've done it on teams without Tanks with Psionic Protection, and I've done it on teams with only a dark-armor tank for lead aggro. Even once did a run with no tanks and only scrappers, but to be fair, the lead scrap was a soft-capped Fire/Shield with a bubbly backing.
Still reeks of catering to the min maxer dullards instead of making things as much fun as they can. -
Quote:All bar the rarest? so when he feels he needs to? when it's inconvenient to do it the long way? when ever the play feels like it?A rare moment when CB's actually right, here. In all bar the rarest cases, The Priest ICly needs to take time out to change powers. He can't do it on the fly.
That's not sounding like a good argument to me. -
Quote:The Problem with some one going "Nah, now i have these powers and not the other ones so now I win!"?If he's willing to put the hours in, and he's already used an IC idea to explain why he can't use all the powers at once, then what's the problem?
I just can't think what peoples objection to that could be... or that you wouldn't be able to see it at all. -
Otrera entered the office thought the window, opening it, sliding in and closing it behind her.
The office was dark, and the light amp built in to her goggles kicked in, casting the room in a grayish haze, she moved to the desk nudging the mouse on the computer as she started to carefully scan the contents of the desk.
A note is quickly scrawled handwriting, checking what lead? a lead to a daemon Jason Caine hadn't liked the idea of fighting solo? good plan Shanna.
The computer had woken, still on the screen were the search results from one of the university databases, one Barry Botherton, who had been absent for several days, noting the address, she clicked back several times to see if it had held on to Shanna's search parameters.
As she did she clicked in to the communications net of the Unity Vigil "Connect to Richard Huntington please" -
They are memories of previous host bodies.
all the same joined being though. -
Probably needed to mention that at some point in the first post. perhaps. possibly.

Otrera looked at the print out of the symbol again, she had passed it on to as many high level magic users as she could find, it would take time for them to get back to her.
She decided to contact this Nathan Vicks, see what he had found. The data from the FBSA had yielded enough information to get a contact number after a little digging. couldn't hurt to have some one else on side.
The message was short to the point of abruptness.
"Also investigating the Gemini Park incident, need to talk. Time and place your choosing. - Otrera" -
Otrera sat at her work desk and frowned a little, the police report was little more than peliminary but confirmed the use of magic she had detected and the symbols were at least an obvious thing to reserch next, see if they tied it to any particular group.
Her frown deeped breifly, magic could be troublesome, she would have to be extra careful.
The search had also turned up a name and hero id number, one Nathan Vicks. She had never heard of him but given the cities population of registered heroes she also wasn't supprised. Shee started a search on him in the FBSA data base, who knew, he could already be tied to the magic world, that would be useful.
Closing down the software that connected to her suit she switched back to her more mundane work, she would let the search run it course before she made her next move. -
Otrera approached Gemini park some time in the small hours of the morning, the sky just beginning to stain with the dawn. She found the site still marked off with police tape, but other wise deserted. Surveying the area, Otrera moved to the middle of taped off area and knelt, pressing one hand to the earth.
There was energy here, messy, noisy... magic. Possibly, wasn't her area but the suit was good enough to pick that much up, and it was unlikely to be a technological source. It needed a magic user to really tell.
The suit reached out to the PPD intranet, time to see what they had found and who else was interested.
((Hope that's a suitable statement of intent.)) -
*prods the thread* hmmmm, curiouser and curiouser.

You know what's odd? when you link to these forums you still have the uk version in the link.
