Time travel? which is pretty much the central conceit of the movie.

Peoples problems with 300 is not so much specific events rather the leather nappies in place of the most heavily armoured soilders in the world at the time and the lack of the 700 odd archers, 500 light infantry too (I think) that where there too.

Classic slow mo fetish. 2 minutes of film streched in the 5 minutes with over use of doing everything at half speed.

If you're looking for character developement, then yes, Sucker Punch lacks that. I however, am of the opinion that not every movie needs character developement to be a good movie.
A film about characters does need it though. You know, so that the story can progress.

If it doesn't it's a story about immutable idiots that go through life in a daze never leaning anything. Or boring as i like to call them.

One of the worst parts of Sucker Punch is that it tries to have both a tragic ending and happy ending at the same time. It can't seem to decide what it wants to do. First you have the main character end up being lobotomized despite all her efforts to escape. But somehow we're supposed to think that's OK because she "sacrificed herself" for one of the other girls who ironically was the one who the most pessimistic and kept trying to keep the other girls from "risking" an escape attempt in the first place. The whole thing is just such a messy mess that it was very hard to care what happened to any of them.
Sounds more like he's ripping off one flew over the cookoos nest. badly.

Well that's because it isn't, 1984 is about the futility of resistance to a facist dictatorship as a warning never to let it come to pass. V is espousing the idea that resistance is the only option.
  7. Still more worried that Zack "Slow Mo fetish" Snyder is directing it.

    It just doesn't bode well.

His work was very falmiler to me from 2000ad, which was pretty much my entire diet of comics growing up since it was what my older brother read. That and the odd JLI - JLA/JLE

This says to belive the critics and ignore everything that you type.

Watchmen is my second favorite book of all time after Catch 22.
The film was drivel made by a slow mo obsessed child with an ultra violence fetish.

I don't expect sucker punch to be better since it didn't even have good material to murder, just his dumb ramblings.

You don't need to believe Tablets are the Next Big Thing™ for it to be true... they are.

What I fear for is dedicated mobile gaming machines, like the 3DS and PSP. When almost everyone has a tablet and can buy Angry Birds for $5, who's going to to pay $35 for a DS cart or PSP whatever-it-is-they-play? If the quality of games for tablets was equal to the DS and PSP, I wouldn't care, but I don't think we're there yet. Pokemon would be nice on the iPad, though.
Yeah, Like i say, I have used one, the functionality is identical to the phones as incidentally is the hardware for the iphone 4/ipad apart from the screen and the ability to make cellphone network calls.

Don't kid your self, these are not some great innovation, that was all done with iOS on the first iphone

My point is that any smart phone does those thing and is also your mobile, the only advantage, the only reason to have any of these tablets is for the larger display, which is good for document reading.

which is what e readers do cheaper and more efficiently.

Video too I guess but that would be one movie's worth before it is an over sized paper weight.

I am honestly not having a go at the ipad so much as the culture around tablets that says they are the next big thing.

For a start the $199 Nook colour

the reason for the iphone comparison is that the only advantage it has over an iphone is the larger screen, and if that is what you are interested in, an electronic device with a big screen to read comics on, then getting a ipad would be a spectacular waste of money.

so I come full circle, it's an over priced e reader.

You really wanting one doesn't change that.

Show me an ereader that can do all the things the ipad 2 can, for a normal ereader price, and I'll be more inclined to agree.
Having used one and not just lusted after it, yes i can say that.

what "all the things" it does less than a frigging iPhone and you pay more.

That would require DADOES to be focused on one idea for more than 5 seconds to achieve said depth.

The film asks a profound question about the nature of the human experience in a subtle and involving way, the book asks your at least 5 questions and then stand there impatiently asking for the answers.

In a nutshell the main character is a girl who's (apparently falsely) imprisoned in a mental institution and she use her "vivid imagination" to cope/escape from reality. It's not clear from the trailers if she ACTUALLY escapes from the nuthouse or if this is all just a fantasy she creates for herself as she goes insane for real.

That's why I think it'd be cool if they handle Sucker Punch like the "Owl Creek Bridge" story I mentioned. In that story a Civil War soldier is about to be hung but somehow escapes the noose and makes a fantastically desperate attempt to get home. Turns out the entire "escape" never actually happened and the whole story was just an instantaneous "life flashing before his eyes" hallucination he experiences seconds before they hang him.

If they apply that kind of twist to this movie it'd be great. Basically she "imagines" that they all become cool ninja warrior-chicks but in reality she's just moments away from a lobotomy that's going to effectively kill her anyway. That'd be tragically cool.
Given it's a Zack Schneider film there isn't a chance in hell of anything remotely that good.
  22. SOunds like they have been ignoring it for a while now anyway.

The Flaming lips disagree. More to the point anything that makes a conscious decision to hurt another being is doing "evil". Choice being the important factor.

Question tho this was brought up in the interview alot is I20, what could be so big in 20 that would knock our socks off? I get end game content that's good and all, but I the competition is offering interactive environments and no mitten hands, no travel suppression, faces that do not looked painted on.

Sorry if I seem cynical, I just want more and this game can do more, just needs the right push.
Are you going to play a game where you literally have the same face as everyone else of your characters chosen gender?

only have three heights to choose from?

no body slider controls at all?

That seems really worth it just to not have mitten hands, painted on faces and no goat legs.

The CC is severely limited in games that are not CoH.
