Given how long forum RP takes, you guys might want to consider RPing this live... Otherwise you'll still be hearing evidence come Christmas!

Pfffffft! *bangs gavel* you will find the defendant guilty so i can make my 11 am tee off time, are we understood?
right, good, now take the blighter out and hang him! /judge whitey -
i would rather they were hosted thought the SG computer or something.
as for the ideas posted, I'm sure some of you would like to be able to create arc's yes? and if you can choose mob and map type why not just a series of open maps with the mob of choice? maybe cycle through a few to break up the monotony? maybe not, don't want to de optimise by accident
flexibility and rewards will cause problems. -

If "story" is sufficient motive to read a book, or watch a movie, why should it be insuffient motive to play a game?
[/ QUOTE ]Let me just stamp on this.
The majority of players play for xp and inf (by how much it matters is to each player's choice). The only ones where xp doesn't matter is lv50s since it's the roof limit. Even then players need their builds funding, SGs need their prestige to keep surviving (unless they are on the smallest plot where it's all about the bling).
Take joining someone else on a mission: how often do you read their dialogue? Once you have, how often do you read it again? And again? And again? There's a point where you know enough about the story to stop reading "because the butler did it" as you've already read the ending.
A customisable mission editor should be fully so otherwise it is just "paper missions with tweaks". If they don't have rewards then most players who are still obsessed with inf and xp won't play them regardless of how good the story might be. Likewise as a badgehunter I'd want the enemy kills that were relevant to count towards my badge hunting totals. Otherwise I'll just stick with badgehunters the next time someone offers the Paragon Protector's map heroside or wait till there's a lv50 Overseer hunting party.
They have to find the right balance otherwise it will just end up as another barely-used feature (like bases or the Hamidon).
[/ QUOTE ]
problem is leaving it flexible with the full rewards, means it will just become another farming tool. and either the functionality or the rewards will have to be limited, to curb what i think they will think of as undesirable behaviour. (weather it is or it isn't is irrelevant) i suppose there might be a balance between the two extremes, but I can also seem them missing it at it will be a really small spot to hit. -
signing up to be the judge, as a new character if necessary, what with my main toon not being a judge...
-
well this was a heated discussion a while ago, if they leave rewards on they will gut the creativity as they will have to limit it to what Carni describes, glorified paper missions, or they can take out any rewards at all (including mobs counting to wards badges etc) and let us have pretty much free reign.
no idea which way they would go though. -

Belgian or normal? -
they needed to make it easier to navigate, and perhaps a little more compact.
as always, the villains set up would not go amiss there. -

For some odd reason, I find myself liking Boomtown alot
[/ QUOTE ]
I like the look of the place, there's just not a lot of reason to go there.
It needs to be revamped into a co-op zone, with Reichsman as the big threat in the final TF (he's supposedly still imprisoned in stasis in the vaults of the old pre-Rikti War Freedom Phalanx base in Boomtown)
[/ QUOTE ]
And make a gigantic Clockwork nest there, almost like a mini-city, with assembly lines and the machines they use for melting down and reforging the scrap they collect.
[/ QUOTE ]
yes, we need tile sets of all the mobs in the game! so it can get mixed it when we do missions. -
[ QUOTE ]
I am really sick of 'fairytale' endings when weak beats strong. Why can't strong beat weak? Aren't they stronger?
If NC are trying to make this game as real as possible, then they should scrap fiction endings and go for the real world ending.
Also another note, not quoting to PRAF only though.
I would rather see more money spent on the game for more useful features. Improving the PvP balance, for example. I remember TG saying that he would leave if the PvP wasn't improved in I13, and others said it as well. We don't want all the money spent on co-op zones. Making new co-op zones time again won't do any good. They need to take a break. I wouldn't mind for just 1 issue. It's getting on my nerves.
[/ QUOTE ]
One: I13 is meant to be massive, so who knows what balancing is in there.
Two: more content is always good since they have a much better methodology now for Zone, and as much as i would have like them to strip back CoH and redo the mission structure more like CoV, and add some villain only zones ( i think you want 2 -3 zones for each 10 level bracket, except the early, were 2 is more than enough, but should be ten levels, not 5) what ever we get isn't likely to be dull.
Three: No no no no no no, if we wanted real word, we would go in to the real world, the entire point is that in this world we can do things we never could in real life.
Four: Coherence, for [censored] sake. you give dribbling loonies a bad name. -
yeah well, it might also be the "it been on for 10 hours straight 8 of which were running AoC" not that it's buggy or anything.
-
City vault is a website thing, not an in game thing. place to list stats and achievements.
-
that's very odd, what mobo are you using? and is it a 320/640 GTS or a 512 one?
i essentially have the same set up, and only once every 20 hours of in game or so will get a total system crash.
am using the 175.16 drivers. (vista 64, core 2 duo 2.33 ghz, GTS 320 on PCI-E 1.1) -

EU forums have 30,000 registered users, or thereabouts, US forums have 117,000 registered users, or thereabouts.
If they're taking subscription numbers from day one, and not excluding inactive accounts - then 160,000 could easily be EU only. Worldwide, it seems a little small.
[/ QUOTE ]
Nope, that's world wide, 30 - 40k in the EU sounds about right, as does 120 - 130 for the US, this isn't the biggest game in the world, but is doing ok.
also the other numbers that have corpped up put us at around that mark.
remember, if some one isn't subbed to here or the US, they can't play the game. -
Mirror spirit is the trainer in faultline. and had foreshadow been given the hollows? i think.

What is a Machinima anyway?
[/ QUOTE ]
wait, you don't even know what to do to enter the contest but you are complaining about it?
the word is an amalgam, Machine cinema, based on the notion of making a film with a game engine. -
yeah, you now scroll through the types as if they were Pattens, so you go to min then move down a notch to select the kind of mini you want.
-
i think the problem actually is that due to the heavy instancing the game can feel empty, even if it isn't.
don't know if the dev's can change that at this late stage though, feels to me like it would need epic amounts of work. -
[ QUOTE ]
Also, there's a 11 year old film about some ship called "RMS Titanic" that's considered a classic.
In actual terms, it's a pretty good film, if not for the cheap dialogue.
[/ QUOTE ]
it's a terrible sloppy badly realised romance film. i've had more fun being hit in the nuts. -
unhuh, but then you would have more inf this way to spend... what with the not having to zero inf earnings from mobs.
mostly that quote is the negating factor of why when it was brought in it was a bad idea, those big super groups still had more than requirements to meet to get the advanced items anyway.
also, i don't like prestige, it's even more tenuous than inf. -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
I meant that it's not really old enough to be considered a "classic".
That and it's not a very good... song? (Don't kill me)
[/ QUOTE ]
I believe sorudo was pointing it rather not as a "classic" as in terms it has been around for 25+ years, but in terms of "classic" as a legendary/brilliant song.
[/ QUOTE ]
wrong on both counts then.
but enough about the subjective nature music appreciation.

The exchange rate was that low to help stop Hero side players with thousands of millions of Influence setting up the biggest base on day one of it going live.
[/ QUOTE ]
which i felt was a really nice thing for them to do, i mean it not like people had to buy another game to be able to access them in the first place was it?
yet another of the strokes of genius of the I6 launch.
P.S. on topic, sod the exchange rate. just get rid of prestige, it not like you don't need masses of salvage to make the good stuff anyway, over 35 it's just that 50% or your inf earned get auto donated to the SG in SG mode, below that, there is no impact on your earnings in SG mode. -
it has, some one owns the rights to do it, but almsot no one would care if they did.
-
no, it does need a lot of worK, you might have been kicking a car about but that doesn't mean anyone else saw you doing it as that stuff is client generated, not server.
so no, bad idea. go play pes. -
Horrible idea, exploitable and in some respects game breaking.
No thank you.
