Football
why would an american game, set in an american city allow you to spawn what we know as a football.
Its not like the americans are any good with one to be a reason to put one into the gaem. mind its not like the english are very good with one either
The "Big Red Ball" is actually quite a common request, even in the US.
Unfortunatly the physics objects are client side, not server side, so a ball might be in one place for one player, and somewhere quite different for another player, and a player with physics turned off would have no ball at all.
I really should do something about this signature.
Never thought of that praf. And now you say I remember playing side by side with a controller and each screen generated a different object. So obviously client side
could it be some kind of summon?
like a pet but once summoned not attached to any one player?
Just No!
It's a superhero game! Go get something by EA Sports if you wanna play soccer!!

You could summon a ball, but it wouldn't be able to use the Physics to control it's behaviour.
Or you could summon a ball that used the physics, but was different for each player.
I really should do something about this signature.
I did kind of think the same but figured i would suggest a possible solution any ways (part of my be less negative approach to life)
What if they made it an object that we shunt out of the way, like the things gravity controllers/dominators fire out with propel, maybe it could be its summon too, firing the ball into a player or NPC's face like the winter event snowball
A total of 14 of my nerves have been harmed in the making of this post...

thats why
just no, EA sport has enough for your pleasure, but if i would see a football i would blast it away and vaporize it with a fireball.(no, i don't like soccer, i have better things to do then kicking a ball in a net that is 80x bigger then the ball)
The physica might be in part client side but you can certainly play something similar to football with mobs and knock back powers (eg Rephellion), the actual rag doll physics of the mob is client side however the mob's actual position when they land is server side, or you wouldn't be able to play the game normally.
There is no reason why the server can't do the physics calculations of course. However given the acceleration/speed of a ball, compared to the frequency of client updates, it would probably be called rubber-band jerkoball.

Yeah, but if it was anew TF with several hours of boredom as a few people throw the ball at one person who hits it with a bat, I bet you'd be all over that one :P

Aside from your clearly inaccurate meanderings (vis "throwing", "boring" etc) still No. Kevin Pietersen and Brian Lara are great in their own domainsm and rightly so - but the idea of "Bowling" as a power set could be interesting

Personally, if the technical obsticles could be overcome, I would like to see a ball to kick around. It would give something else to do whilst waiting for teammates to finish leveling up/selling/going for coffee/whatever.
I really should do something about this signature.
Wouldn't play 'football' anyway... now hockey (not ice) that might be a good deal of fun and if all else fails you can always beat your opponent to a bloody pulp with the stick.

Hmm bowling as a superhero power - you know, that just might work!

But what form of bowling? Personally I prefer carpet bowls or crown green bowling both of which I'm actually quite good at.
best thing they could do is target practice, have a dummy walking around and SHOOT.
How would that be different from what we do anyway?
Could we have a temporary power that makes a football (soccer) for us to kick around? The same as the controllers make objects we kick around.
It would make a change to have a quick game of heroes/villains football instead of hide and seek. Just put down some jumpers for goal posts and have a kick around
