  1. TA is pretty end light - so you may be able to get away with putting stamina later on (or even dropping it entirely) and getting moving some powers forward a tad.

Apart from that looks pretty solid - ice arrow is nice, but the animation time is a tad slow, and with the sleep and the stun, you should be fine.
  2. Draw is posted tomorrow morning, after i've had some kip
  3. Bravo! The perfect song to capture the madness and fun of this afternoon

    New to the game

Probably referring to twilight grasp, which is a truly phenomenal heal. I'd go so far as to say it is the best aoe heal in the game (as it is easier to control than the kinetics heal)
  5. Once you hit 34 with an EM stalker, you are looking at a BU+TF, ET, placate, bonesmasher combo that will pretty much decimate a mob of three +3s in about 6-8 seconds. Very rarely will you need to use AS.

PVP wise, that same combo will take out defenders, trollers, blasters, and some scrappers (just repeat the combo for them). Tanks take three or 4 runs through.

It's still nice to have AS available though for purple bosses/EBs/AVs, or to shorten the time it takes to kill scrappers and tanks.

    Darkest night just sucks end

    [/ QUOTE ]

Now, I'll agree with it being endurance heavy (ish), but I truly hope you weren't dissing darkest night. A massive tohit and -damage debuff toggle, that makes EB and AV fights nice and straightforward, and is useful with big spawns/multiple boss spawns to.

Get it. Slot it (2end, 3 tohit debuff, with an optional 1recharge). Use it. Love it.

Petrifying gaze is also quite nice once you get a second hold to stack it with on bosses, or for isolating annoyances like longbow specops or malta sappers.

But fearsome stare, tenebrous tentacles, nightfall is an awesome attack chain, especially with a tar pit underneath them.
  7. I'll sort out your invite to the pirates when you get back squire, will be easier I suspect - if you happen to see me on as @captain morgan, feel free to send a tell though.
  8. [ QUOTE ]
You need to PvE alot to get upto PvP standard during that time you find..

Mayhem Missions - you cant regen quick enough to survive the police and longbow shooting you.. ergo you die

Standard missions - up until you get Instant Healing you get 1 AS off and then get hit loads of times and die. Also placate will end up being nullified about 40% of the time as the enemy gets a sneaky shot off as you are trying to placate and breaks the hide... ergo you die.

Teams: the greater number of enemies mean you get hit more often - your only defence is to play exclusively hit and run. Should you pull off an AS first the alpha strike hits too easily and (you guessed it) you die.

As a stalker your best friend is defence and avoidance, regen gives you none of these so you constantly find yourself unable to hide or placate.

I got a spines regen stalker upto lvl 34 and deleted it because I got fed up with it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

PVE wise /regen works pretty well, at least in the experience of teaming with my missus on her 42 EM/regen. There have been loads of occassions where she has headed off an ambush and by the time the team has dealt with the current mob, she has taken out all but one of them. I can't remember her using a hit and run tactic once, unless I'm grabbing the aggro from an AV. Sure, she dies every now and again if she gets caught out of hide by a big mob, but the same happens to defence based scrappers too, especially if they don't have a self-heal.

All stalker secondary sets are perfectly able to be played as hit and run assassins or scrappesque style, in PvE or PVP. You don't need anything more than the key powers correctly slotted, and an understanding of the capabilities of the sets.
  9. Not disagreeing that stealth is a useful power for PvP, just not convinced that it is necessary to achieve a certain amount of success.

PvP for both Blind and I is about the fun, not necessarily about min/maxxing a build and being "top dog" - if I win more fights than I lose, then I'm happy. I don't need stealth to do this (and won't be taking it on my stalker, now I've finally found a build I enjoy playing - claws/dark). Grant Invis is another story

I also think playing for a while without stealth is good for learning how to take a stalker to a higher level, especially with high levels of +per in the zone - you have to learn the scenery, and patience to select the right targets - and I'm of the opinion that you learn those lessons if you don't have stealth/invis/grant invis on your toon.

But as I like to say, different monkeys, different nuts
  10. And you don't need stealth. It is nice to have, but by no means essential - they may be able to see you, but that isn't the same as being able to stop you

Blindfaith doesn't use stealth, as she doesn't a) need it for PVE, b) like the movement penalty, c) the increased endurance consumption. She still does well in the zones when she is in there.

My planned build (made her today, currently at 7).

Going heavily for defense from pool powers. Few attacks, I am mainly a meat sheild.

Anyone know for sure if Weave stacks with the defense from Ice Armors?

Where for the love of all that is holy is Hoarfrost? Get that badboy in early, and 6 slot it. (3recharge, 3 heal)

Get that in asap, as that really needs to be in there.

Why thank you, for what I'm sure you meant.

    OT.

    DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM™
  14. The pirates are vaguely pirate themed, in that we don't force people to be piratey, or indeed to do anything

You are more than welcome to stick your pirate toon in with us - and you get the benefit of some great coalition chummers too.

As Jum said above, will probably have to wait till after the weekend, as Blindfaith and I have about 20-30 of the 1AT lot round at our house this weekend for rum, BBQ, rum, breakfast and more rum. Yarr!
  15. Ooh! a shiny medal

I can only apologise again for the RL issues that have prevented me from being as organised for the defiant side as I would have liked - I actually think on defiant we are pretty close to the final (certainly no more than another week or two), so we can bring this first run of 3vP to a satisfactory conclusion on test to see which server r0xxz0rz the most :P

Yes, we can learn some lessons for organisation, especially about giving notice in advance of draws, and having reserve organisers to help out should RL intrude. I7 being launched definitely didn't help either We also had to improvise as to what happened with no-shows - we didn't really anticipate it to be brutally honest, but know better now!

I'm glad that loads of people have enjoyed an interesting PvP tournie, and hope that those still with lives work with the problems and carry on - after all, there's bragging rights at stake!
  16. Captain_Morgan_EU

    Ice/SS

Aye, did the same with my Ice/SS (13 atm) - CE and taunt allows you to really grab the aggro - get a blaster, duo to 20 to get past the boring power picks, then rock on - pretty much my plan
  17. Too slow Jummy, too slow

Cap wins again! (or summit like that, not exactly sure what I "win", but still...)
  18. The corrosion rangers would indeed be delighted to have you if you think you can handle it

We have all corruptor night on a thursday evening, plus regular other teamage with the guys from EVIL, Bloodline, Pirates of the Apocalypse and the rest of the 1AT VGs (SIN, Force of Will, Ministry of Pain, Deus Ex Machina).

Feel free to visit our forums here! to see if you like the look of us
  19. Captain_Morgan_EU

    3vP tonight?

apologies again for the delay peeps - really, really busy here (got 20-30 of the 1AT lot at my house at the weekend, plus had to steal 10 mins from filling in job applications/shouting at the council to do the draw).

Ideally matches should take place tonight at 7:30pm ish, but providing results are in by monday, we'll be golden

Have fun all, as I doubt I'll be able to get online

Can you try and post the times of the matches here - I'd like to watch one 3vP match at least

    Set Trouble

Ok, I've played Ice/Fire/AR all to a reasonable level as blasters and corruptors, and dark to a high level.

Ice/Dark is a lovely combo, if a little end heavy (ice is pretty endurance intensive because it is so good). Key powers, Ice bolt, Ice Blast, Freeze Ray, Bitter Ice Blast (love this power), Blizzard, and at a touch ice storm.

AR is pretty end intensive, but very satisfying for concept reasons - flamethrower, beanbag, ignite, full auto and the snipe are the best powers in my opinion, for effect or visuals.

Fire/Dark is an insanely good combination - tarpatch and rain of fire is brilliant for tearing through mobs, with fireball, blaze and inferno as other great powers.

Fire is visually the most impressive, and works well for scourging stuff (the extra dot does help) as that is how I play my fire thermal.

Out of them, all, I'd say ice/dark, fire/dark are good combos, ar/kin would be nice and busy too.
  23. Ah, see now I've got powerset envy - my poor ill/emp is always crying out for more control... seems like you don't have that problem

I'd still take hurricane, because it is a fun power, and looks damn good too, and more options can only be a good thing. Can be useful against AVs too, although snowstorm is also awesome. Mmm. Tornado is fun too. Might have to steal my wife's stormie for a bit and have a play, is tremendous fun.
  24. ET is about 11, TF is 18 end - both on a native 20 sec recharge. With an end red in TF, that goes down to about 13, which is much more managable.

With energy drain properly slotted, and ET slotted as I've suggested, you will defeat the mob you hit in one shot, perhaps with a bonesmasher for more difficult mobs, and get the endurance cost back in buckets. The wife uses this slotting on her EM/regen stalker without end issues (and she most definitely scraps/doesn't have any way of getting end back short of insps), and I use the same on my EM/EA brute - the extra damage more than offsets the end cost, especially with conserve power and energy drain to assist in managing endurance.
