Critique dark/dark build

Hey all,

Here's my current build. I tend to use most of my powers regularly, with the exception of HT. I really enjoy the crowd control I get. I mostly pve now that I7 has come out, but really enjoy pvp and will certainly get back into that once I'm lvl 50 (just occasionally in the meantime).

I'm especially interested in comments regarding the slotting; for instance, I read in another post recently that a third recharge reduction isn't nearly as effective as the second?

Thanks,

DM

That looks like a pretty good build.

I've got a Dark/Dark to personally I've never bothered to get Moonbeam. So I'd say skip Moonbeam and get Tar Patch earlier as I found it to be very useful at lower levels where slowing enemies often really messes them up.

Darkest Night might benefit from having an endurance cost enhancement in it.

I love Tenebrous Tentacles - I'd put an extra imob, a range and a rate in there..

For Twilight Grasp - 2 acc 2 heal and 2 recharge is prefered by some so you can really spam heal when you need to.

You might want to get Howling Twilight earlier too as team wipes seem to happen more often at lower levels and people will be grateful for the multi rez. In order to facilitate this take recall friend earlier (I would skip Teleport Foe unless you want to annoy people in PvP)

You have a very similar build to my level 50 Dark/Dark corrupter

I have all the Dark attack powers apart from Dark pit and Life Drain because Dark pit dosn't seem that great and also just use Twilight Grasp instead of life drain, heals more.

With Dark Miasma skip Petrifying gaze and use fearsome stare (unless you like to PvP, then it can be good), Black hole is rubbish power you can just hold them with Fearsome stare. Darkest night just sucks end and the rest of the powers are very good.

If you want anymore advice or have any questions im on global at @ShadowCrown.

Now, I'll agree with it being endurance heavy (ish), but I truly hope you weren't dissing darkest night. A massive tohit and -damage debuff toggle, that makes EB and AV fights nice and straightforward, and is useful with big spawns/multiple boss spawns to.

Get it. Slot it (2end, 3 tohit debuff, with an optional 1recharge). Use it. Love it.

Petrifying gaze is also quite nice once you get a second hold to stack it with on bosses, or for isolating annoyances like longbow specops or malta sappers.

But fearsome stare, tenebrous tentacles, nightfall is an awesome attack chain, especially with a tar pit underneath them.

Agreed, although I'd swap TT and Nightfall in the chain. That way their accuracy and damage get debuffed before they're hit with the AoE and start shooting back.

Nightfall is the coney-shooty thing, you mean Darkest Night.

Um, perhaps.

I wasn't dissing darkest night , i just think its better to get at a higher level because end is a real problem at low levels and you rarely fight AVs at low level.

Would recommend getting Darkest Night and slotting it asap. I used it to herd as soon as I got it at lvl 4 and still use it all the time.

take darkest night, slot it love it, i rarely use it in pve tbh only on bosses or large team spawns, but in pvp it's awesome, that and fearsome stare is waht allows me to solo 2/3 scrappers at a time and live, normally long enough to kill a non regen and tp away, and personally i wouldn't have tp without hover can be a pain with all the lag issues tp has
