  2. Just an additional thought. Because we can't pre-order the Complete Collection, there will be a NC Store feeding frenzy of people trying to order it on the day of release. IN ADDITION there will also all those people who have pre-ordered GR but want to upgrade on that day to the full package.

    Anyone who has tried to get a booster pack on day of release knows the pain of that. But it's going to be much much worse for this.

    Does that strike anyone as a good plan?
  3. Not impressed.

    Like most here, I'm running more than one account. Like many, I'm into costume parts. Like a lot, cost is a factor in these economic times.

    I have zero interest in retail boxes (I only download anyway); I don't care about getting the powers a little early (I'm sure there'll be enough DP and demons knocking around without me having any).

    To me not being able to pre-order the Complete Collection is just odd. I either have the NC store "will it go through" frenzy when GR is released or I buy half a job now and then half a job later which; will almost certainly cost me more (even if the costume pack is the same as previous boosters, I'm losing out 30 days). All on two accounts.

    I wonder if there'll be other deals for buying the expansion (which may include costume parts) nearer GR release date and which will work out cheaper?

    That'll be the route I'll take. Wait and see.

    I don't understand the rationale really. Sure it looks like a way to get people to buy twice but I can't be the only one with a re-subscription due between now and GR. What better way to ensure those subs are done than get the Complete Collection pre-ordered at the NC Store?

    Or is the "two extra months free" deal from last year set to tie in with GR proper? That'd be REALLY nice.*
  4. Have a great pixie. Erm birthday Ariel'.

  5. I'm in. I'll try and arrange dinner to be BEFORE the TF this time.

    Capa Devans - Stalker

    And if someone wants to make sure there's some good info on the stalker power, I'd appreciate it.
    I've hit those buttons left to right before and it didn't seem to help. Do we need the adds in the main room, near the computer or what?

  7. I was in a similar position to you last year. Redside the TPs are arranged in level order, but heroside was much more complex.

    Because the SG was new to blue side, it was more confusing to have things in level order because we didn't know the zones.

    I eventually settled on alphabetical while ensuring the frequently used areas were most accessable (Talos, Atlas).

    Now the TPs are in a 5x5 and a 3x4 room. The 3x4 holds 4 TPs of the most often used (Talos, Atlas, PI, FF, Steel, RWZ and Pocket D), the 5x5 room holds the rest in alphabetical order left to right.

    I am still reviewing the order because I know if a team mate uses a base it can be a bit confusing. But it works well for me. I used to have little decorations near each beacon as an aide-memoire (sacks for talos - shops, weapons for RWZ, bottles for the D) that helped a little early on.

    EDIT:
    Do check out the overlay in this thread, I love the arcane TPs but the beacons seem more tricky to read, this helps that a great deal. http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=199041
  8. Sorry I couldn't make yesterdays 'Cuda but I my evening meal was about to be ready and I didn't think it was fair to be afk for the first 15-20mins of a Master TF. I was sorry to miss the TF but it was excellent roast beef though.*

    Thanks for the todays STF. I was pleased I wasn't the one who went down first.*Thanks to all who stuck out the 3hr 20min marathon.

    As I said, I'm bowing out of the MoKhan tomorrow. If it runs similar to today, then it won't finish until the early hours of Monday (to me). I'm up at six for work so it's just too late; I don't want to bail before the end. Good luck for tomorrow.
  9. Thanks for the reply. I'll have a look at that build (would you happen to have the mids export available, please the datalink doesn't work for me?).

    I take the point about feeling like it's missing. I'd usually run with two IOs.

    My extra slots were generally to accommodate sets; perhaps different sets/focuses would change the slotting.

    This girl is my main badger so she has the accolades for the badges anyway.*

    Many thanks for your time.
  10. I respec'd my stalker earlier in the year. It was my first real attempt at set bonuses and while I'm pleased with some aspects, I'm less so with others.

    Good things (for me)
    * regen
    * recovery
    * recharge
    * def

    Things I'm not satisfied with
    * accuracy (I don't know if the acc is ok but I seem to be missing a lot, I'd usually run 2 acc IOs)
    * I'm well over the HP cap (didn't realize this before) and think the +HP sets could be jiggled to provide other benefits

    I don't PvP. I kept the Dark Blast as a pull and finish off a runner power. I do like having all my primary; I use every combo.

    If anyone has any thoughts on how to improve the 'bad', I'd appreciate it. I'm not uber wealthy but do have two Armageddons knocking around.

    Many thanks in advance.

  11. 18 storage items in the base, 9 in the 2x2 room.

    You can get a lot into the 2x2 room but you'll almost certainly have to stack them and make stairs up to the higher ones.

    You can't split the room level into 3 equal heights - the bins are 17ft tall IIRC and the room 48.

    Check stackers vids on youtube and also cronic has one there too.
  12. When I redesigned two of my bases, I had a similar problem.

    I KNEW a door was possible where I wanted it (it's where it was before I moved it) but the editor just wouldn't let me place it.

    xxxxx
    xxxxxb
    xxxxx
    xxxxx
    xxxxx
    o

    o = is where the door was
    b = is where the editor would let me place a door iirc

    I wound up increasing the size of the base (for more wiggle room) and dropping extra rooms/security corridors down to get the room in the right place, then making a new door where I wanted it to be. Place doorway worked fine.

    It was a major faff but did work in the end.

    Just hope you have the prestige to do something similar.**

    As has been said, stairs and even dirt piles near the door has caused me issues before.
  13. Those overlays are seven kinds of awesome.

    While I love the Arcane Beacons, trying to play spot the picture drove me crazy. Problem solved. Thank you!
  14. Don't know if you missed my reply but i can bring a blaster to the 2nd and 3rd TFs. So please count me in.
  15. When my base wouldn't work and rent had been paid, I moved the power supply a little. Then it worked.
  16. Only reason I want to be near BNY is if there's a new event which allows you to throw him like a caber tossing event.

    Back on topic: I'll be around in the channels just yell when you've a mind to start.
  17. *must not post before tea*

    I need both on my blaster but might bring something else. Count me in.
  18. I forgot the 2nd and 3rd are the weekend. Yeah, I can make those too. Same stalker.
  19. I could bring a Stalker on Friday.*
  20. The only day I have off there is the 1st. But I could bring my stalker to the party.
  21. *Many thanks* to Ariel for organizing and running all of these TF's. You've show how to run a MoITF.

    In brief it requires:
    * TWO MM's
    * Setting off the ambush on mission one
    * Several near-ish deaths
    * More disconnections than I can count - I think almost everyone crashed at least once
    * Power outages
    * Dreadful lag on mission three
    * An EB who was aggro'd on the beach and then ran UP lag hill
    * Uncooperative EBs who seemed GLUED up lag hill
    * Squishy blaster pulling Rommy & Req
    * Not killing the blue aggro-monkey (not pepsi)

    Congratulations and my thanks to all concerned.

    Now I need Barracuda and LRSF Masters on the stalker and MoITF on the blaster. Oh boy.
  22. Prestige deposited, Real World Hero mentioned/linked all over the place.

    Thanks to you and good luck to the charities.
  23. Thanks to Sidhe for the tour. *

    A lot of effort gone into the base and I'm certainly impressed by some of the stacking!

    Also some very interesting ideas there including a clever mix of arcane and tech - which is tricky to pull off.

    Many thanks for your time and effort.

    My apologies to Redlynne for having to leave during the update tour of that base. But what I did see .. wow on top of wow.
