I'm glad I took the time to check here before blowing off the sleep from this set. Most times
I don't bother with sleeps. Thanks for the info folks. -
Nice recharge Tux. No offense, but I'll stick with my cheap build.
-
Interesting, What gives?
-
1. Are you male or female? Male
2. What ATs do you mostly play, and for what reason(s)? Mostly support, I like the challenge.
3. Redside, blueside, purpleside, or any combination of the above? Blue/Vig
4. What are your favorite story arcs? To be honest IDC, I like speed TF teams.
5. What makes you like this game? The fun you have trying to mesh on teams
6. What other games do you play? None since I started playing this
7. How long have you been playing? Just about to hit 69 months.
8. How many alts do you have, what is the average level range, and how many are level 50? About 30, average 50, 22 are 50. I tend to play my alts to 50.
9. Do you bother with softcaps, set bonuses, and all that numerical stuff? What difficulty settings to you normally use? When inventions first came out, not so much, the more time goes by, as much as I can.
I hope you post your findings -
The main thing for me when it comes to hover vs. CJ is my ability to position myself in a fight, hover is a liability by comparison to CJ in terms of cones in particular. It seems the angle you have to attack isn't always going to max your damage potential.
Not that I don't like hover, it's just when I want to get from here to there in a fight CJ is where it's at.
Edit: Positioning can make the difference between victory and defeat. I've seen many people that stand their ground and get buried there! -
Quote:You could very easily dump CJ/SJ in my build and still have the same defense in a build with fly, with the extra added bonus of being out of melee, in fact, I'm gonna have to think it over.Tux, the build you posted up was mine
might wana edit that dude
Reason i got entropics was due to the cheapness yes but also the heal proc which has saved my backside a few times on other blasters. I like the set ^^
possibly switch out flares for blaze, gotta get a chance to fiddle with these builds some. Was busy all day yesterday and didn't get chance.
And remember guys i want fly on my build for concept so to get hasten etc I'd need to drop something.
Some good solid advice here too from everyone. I promise I'll try and edit my build this weekend XD
The only downside is end use. -
I'd gotten pretty bored with Counter Strike/Quake/Unreal by 2004, and was looking for something new.
While flipping though the latest issue of Maximum PC I came across a review for a newly released game. City of Heroes.
I didn't join until Feb 2005 and I kick myself when I think about the vet badges I missed :P

I'm sure others have more and better insight than I, but I'll take a stab at a few things and post the I19 build I'm thinking of going with.
First, you're not gonna need that many attacks on your solo build with the recharge you have on either of your builds, they will come back so fast I'd say you'll have plenty with your team setup.
Benumb will need at least 1 acc in it for AVs and other hard targets.
Slow sets aren't the best way to slot Infrig. You're beter off throwing an acc and an Achillies' Heel in there as well as one in Sleet
You'll get more out of Sleet by putting procs into it, and slotting for recharge and end redux due to its high base acc.
Dump Snow Storm and Frostwork in the team build and take something more usefull like the fighting pool or maybe a shield from you epic.
Most people will tell you you're wasting slots in Heat Loss and Stamina, you'll be better served using them somewhere else. Slot for recharge and acc in Heat Loss.
Hopefully a numbers cruncher will be of more help than I, good luck.
This is what I'm thinking for I19.

Edit: Gah, forgot to mention not to pay attention to when powers and slots were placed :P -
Heh, I have a cold/sonic, FF/rad and traps/sonic all IO sets at 50. Teamed with other debuffs (FF/Rad), no debuffs (cold/sonic), All around badass def, Traps hands down (easy to softcap with good recharge).
But I have to give it to cold over FF (don't even play mine anymore). -
-
Quote:I thought PGT was the strongest with -1000 regen, unless things have changed?Just a quick note. If your main concern is -regen try for darks. Howling Twilight (the aoe rez) also happens to be a monster regen debuff 500% iirc. If memory serves it is the strongest such debuff in the game. They also get a little more -regen from their targetted heal.
Edit: Maybe I'm taking your meaning out of context. -
Quote:Well, it was only a friendly little bumpThe controller boards are generally a quieter place than most. It's not surprising for it to take a day or two to get some feedback. Please be a bit more patient before bumping your post.
Quote:Kinetic Combat will ruin Earthquake. It increases the knockdown to the point of becoming knockback, which those enemies out of its own area of effect. I recommend using Dark Watcher's Despair to enhance the recharge, -tohit, and endurance reduction while picking up a 5% recharge bonus with four slots.
Quote:Sleet has a very high base accuracy (150%) and does not need additional accuracy enhancement. It does benefit greatly from recharge and endurance reduction. It also carries a very strong defense debuff that requires little to no enhancement; coupled with earth's debuffs you can go without slotting for defense debuffs.
Quote:Stamina is terribly slotted. Yes, you pick up a 5% recharge bonus but a great deal of the enhancement value is lost. Those slots can be used to enhance other powers that would also pick up the same recharge bonus, Aid Other for example.
Quote:Quicksand is a fine power, but Slow sets are notoriously bad. Sacrificing four slots for 3.5% recharge isn't a worthwhile trade in my opinion. Again, those slots could be used to enhance other powers and pick up bonuses there.
Quote:Tactics is a bit redundant with all the defense debuffs from earth and cold. It is a great power, but there are few situations where your team won't already be swinging with a 95% chance to hit.
This is the first earth I've rolled so Ive been going by the seat of my pants until now. I'm putting up my revised build when you have time to look.
I slotted Heat Loss with Performance Shitfer as well. I do have a cold/sonic defender and I've never felt the need to slot it with end enhancements. This might not be the way to go, but I'm looking at the 2.5 end recovery. I may pull the def/end from maneuvers back out and reslot Heat Loss with Tempered Rediness again. Any ideas?
Thank for the help Ketch
I have a bad habit of just playing around until I get the end result I'm looking for in mids. My new build is reflecting proper power chocies for levels. I ex down enought for it to be worth it Angel.

Hiya Folks
I rolled this as a team player and I was wondering what I could do to improve the build. With my recharge as it is, are things going to be a bit redundant. I do love speed teams so that's my main reason for wanting the recharge.
So what would you do?

Right now my fav is a traps/sonic defender. I'm currently working on an earth/cold troller that's a close second.
My main is an archery/fire that will always be at the top since I rolled it back in I5 when both sets were gimp. -
Quote:I have one on Freedom (perma hasten), 655 badges as of now. To many alts or the count would be higher. You don't die if ya kill it first.I would agree with that...except theres one problem.
Extreemly LOW Survivability...and I have yet to see a single person playing one.
Hmm, I might make one, just because!
There are better combos, but I rolled mine back in I5 when the set came out. They can take my bow when they pry it from my cold dead fingers! -
I was under the impression it would be better to benumb the damage Nictus than the healer on ITF?
-
2) Many people like bald girls. Bald women, too!
I'm sure no one has touched the obvious in this because it's just to easy -
If you go with the Nvidia 470 make sure your power supply can cut it! A new one will set you back around another $100 on top of the cost of the card.

I bought a 5770 for my system since it's a few years old, and I plan on putting together a new system in the fall. It runs Ultra decently, but I don't turn everything all the way up either. Still, it's not bad, and I didn't have to upgrade my power supply. -
Quote:Aggro cap, otherwise you'd prolly be dead.Even some things not within reason. Link
Nice grouping though -
My bad on the trolling part folks, I shouldn't have come across that way, my apologies. In the future I'll try to be a bit more careful of what, and how I say things.
Thanks for the feedback, responses and neg rep, I guess I had it coming for not doing my homework. -
Quote:BS, a new epic and a few dif powers can easily take 10 slotsNew players aren't going to have IO'd out toons. So your argument fails right there.
When you do a respec most of your enhancements get reslotted in the new build. 10 is more than enough to hold enhancements that don't go into the newly chosen powers.
The only reason a person would want to pull every single enhancement from a character is if the player decided to delete the character in question and wants to recycle the slotted enhancements. -
-
Quote:Ok, lets say you want to change your Epic, I can think of at least one respec just for that in cases, let alone a few power choices in your primary.Junk IOs can just be sold for cash as part of the Respec process. If they are truly junk then there's no real reason to keep them anyway, it's not like they're going to fetch much on the markets.
You don't "lose" all but 10 either as people have pointed out, You can slot them into powers and keep them.
The only reason for this "Super Respec" is that someone has got a heavily IO'd character they've decided they don't like any more so they want to strip them of absolutely everything. New players aren't affected by this limitation at all.
