    store swamped?

No no the store is just flooded, not swamped.

Ah yes that would explain it. My internet is quite bad. Packet loss issues are common.

Sigh. As usual I should have known better than to put forth an absolute as fact on the internet.

So yes it is possible to make a toon where hasten is unnecessary. But in most cases a toon could be made better with hasten. Either a better attack chain, more debuffs whatever.

If all we cared about was pure mathematical performance we would all play SS/Fire brutes. We don't though.

    We care about our backstory's.
    We care about our costumes.
We care about our power picks.
We care about all kinds of illogical things.

Point is nerfing hasten is a "bad idea"(tm) and taking away the glowy effect will only allow more people to take the power now that it can simply be in the background and do its thing without announcing to the world that you have hasten. Thus freeing those of us shackled with the burden of rationalizing everything within the game world to take hasten and be more effective numerically; while still allowing them to have their perfect little role play in their heads.
  4. Got these on the live server.

This happened just after starting a TPN. Crashing at the start of iTirals is common for me but I haven't seen these before thought I mention it due to the message saying customers shouldn't see it.

  5. Here is what I would do if you wanted to keep your power picks more or less the same.

However why did you go with the rifle attacks over the backpack? If its just for WAWG I would recommend dropping it I'm soloing the DA content on my crab at +4/x8 without it and its fine. but that is mostly a personal preference thing.

Also what do you want this toon to do? solo +4/X8? Farm?

CT:O is commonly considered to be a waste its benefits don't warent a power pick.

Same with Omega maneuver. Unless you want it for theme reasons its damage is not that good.

Seeing as you have 2x purple sets and 5x LoTG you only need 2 slots in hasten.

Why did you take acrobatics? 8 points of KB resist is good for most content if you hate KB you can fit 12 points in.

Why did you not take any of the Patron pool powers? Most of them offer something you need/want to round out your build.

Also if you want to you can take a look at my crab build thread, if you want to see how I built mine.

  6. I like this build and have a version of it slotted on live without the Apoc and Rag sets.

    Few things about this build.

    1. No pets. I hate pets on anything that is not an MM. No matter how much recharge you have they can still be down/die when you need them.
    2. Lots of AOE. This toon was made to be a farmer. He is quite good at it, can stack minions and LT's like firewood.
    3. I do have a ST attack chain for EB/AV's Its called Channelgun, once I get the Apoc and Rag sets it's recharge will be shorter than its activation.
    4. Yes I know I should put a -res prock in Channelgun if its my ST attack HOWEVER I was trying to fix my Psionic hole I may still put one in but for now I'm not going to.

The problem is bosses. They allways seem to take forever to kill. I realize I can just turn them off but I want to leave them on. And with DA content theirs even more good drops that bosses can give you.

So can anyone see anyway for me to get more ST damage out of this toon?

Hasten is THE single biggest crutch in this game. It is people who think it is "necessary" on EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER who just aren't very good at this game (or maybe just lazy). Hasten is NOT the legendary "I win" button many people think it is.

However, like powerleveling, it's been out of the bag for far too long now that people see it as "necessary" when nothing is further from the truth. In fact, I can't remember when I last took Hasten on a character. Learn to freaking play your characters instead of shackling them all with a clumsy mechanic and you won't need Hasten either. Srsly. If you feel you just can't play your characters without Hasten it's probably years overdue for the nerf bat. Devs just don't want to deal with the global whining that would take place. Look what happened when they tried to curb farming. Same thing. Favorite crutches that people just can't give up.
    Ok.

But from a numerical standpoint can you honestly say that your characters would not be better with hasten?

The reason Hasten is so useful is because if increases the viability of everything. EVERYTHING. Heals are up faster, buffs are up more often, Domination can be made perma, your best damage powers are up faster.

Do you "need" hasten on every character? No. However by not taking it you are a lower performing character in comparison to some one that does. This is a mathematical fact.

While a stray AoE might take it out, that's if the foe gets a chance to fire it...then it'll probably miss anyway.
Oh well yea it's 'easy' if you use buffs. You have to do it on a scraper.

So, their is one situation where its useful that happens maybe once or twice when leveling up.

    Yea. Its useless.
  12. I rember I asked about a min FX option for hasten and Posi said he could't talk about it. I don't know if that adds or subtracts credence to the anoucment being pool customization.

I could see this happening when you first place the power but I doubt this would happen often enough to be an issue once the caltrops are on the floor. Not to mention the the fact that they are most often used for mitigation/scatter effect anyway.
  14. Ah ok. I'll hold off on the respec then. Still this is interesting particularity if they add more of these global damage IO sets with procks we could get back up to 6 damage procks in caltrops again!
  15. I was just wondering if anyone had tryed this yet. Putting the Overwhelming Force KD IO and the Ragnarok KD IO in Caltrops.

If so how effective is it? Do you think it's worth the investment as a mitigation tool? Either on ranged toons or on melee's fighting +4/x8.

Or will we see the return of ProckTrops? I.E. Overwhelming Force, Ragnarok, KD to keep them in the trops and Posi, Javelin, Impeded Swiftness damage IO's.

How will the PPM changes affect this kind of slotting?
  16. Well what I've learned today is that...

L54 PPD are mean but doable. L54 Arachnos are a cake walk thanks to corner pulls and caltrops.

And that I can't fight AV's. Black Scorpion kills me in two hits. TWO! I don't even have time to get parry stacked twice. The one time I did go in with everything on med purple insp, Lore, accolades. I just couldn't do enough damage and because he can taunt now I can't kill the bosses around him.

I'm not as crazy as Werner. I use my judgment, hybrid, destiny abilitys whenever their up. I use Inspirations too. I try to avoid useing the Lore pets unless it's an EB/AV. I and I don't use any temps either. I do use my Nem staff every now an then tho.

But it's his taunt I'm having issues with. When he dose that and I can't kill off the bosses around him which makes fighting him difficult.

Honestly tho I'm fine with that. AV's were never really meant to be soloed any way.
  17. Most of them are KD/KD at least KOV and BP. Headsplitter Disembowel and Shield Charge all cause KU/KD when I'm soloing.

Thing is Crane Kick is a chance of KB so it's not going to be consistent.
  18. Honestly I don't have much End issues with this build. Sometimes I will need to eat a blue at the end of a spawn when fighting bosses but for the most part Ageless supports me just fine.

I have to keep targeting drone. It would be like Booster Gold without Skeets. I do have the vet drone as well but Targeting Drone is better because it is a toggle. No need to worry about it lagging behind or dieing.

Aid Self is a power I hate it's interpretable, slow, and frankly boring... I'm a scraper darn it! I do damage and tank.

Many thanks Moonlighter. Your suggestions would look something like this, but it's over the rule of 5 on +10% Regen bonus twice.

Slotting 1/2 and 1/2 of the ATE set was a mistake! I was just seeing how it would affect me until I got enough enhancement catalysts. I use to have Obliteration in WS I replaced it with the ATE because it was the only one I felt I could put it in without loosing something more important.

The endurance is nice to have but I use Ageless to fix my end. The heal is the useful part. I do wish it would go off more tho.
  20. Panacea seams to be making a real difference. Still having some troubles but I need to play more to figure out what the issue is.

I guess I will move that slot to Weave put another LoTG in it. Not mutch else I can do with it.

I don't know about that. Active defense only grants 10 points. Cariny's have their illusions. And the KOV's have DP's with normal rounds that can cause alot of KB when stacked. I feel better with it in their. I could put it in Super jump and then ....

Put it in weave for another LoTG 7.5? I can't think of anything else. Lose the chance to put the -rech proection gift of winter then.
  22. Hadn't thought about leaving the LT's alive, I'll try that. Figthing at L53 on +4/x8 with boss's

So I removed the two extra pices of Zephyr in combat jumping and added a Kismet and another LoTG 7.5 I don't know if I necessarily need that extra recharge tho.

Would the +3% Resist PVPIO make any noticeable difference? I also added the slow resist IO but its on the "at some point when I'm rich" list.

  23. KOV seem to just be doing pure damage to me. I'll SC into a group hit parry, WS, Parry, Slice, HS and most of the time I'll do fine. Other times I'll throw in my judgement to kill off the minions and LT's.

But when 3 of those Titan Weapon boss's live through all that and pop whatever T9 it is that they have I'm stuck for 10/15 sec being unable to hit them. Parry destacks and I can't regen fast enough. When this happens I'll drop my caltrops this cause's them to scatter and gives me some room to breath/regen. But they usually kill me before the trops can do their work.

    Two things tho.
    1. I'm allways fighting a ping of 2,000+
    2. I have the Panacea but it's not slotted yet. (requires a respec)
  24. Right so I posted this in the build workshop and nobody responded so.... yea

I'm made a few changes since that post any way.

I have targeting drone for thematic reasons. I really don't want to lose it.

Whats killing me in DA is the KOV bosses. 2-4 of them gang up on me and if i don't have parry dubblestacked I die. I don't know about BP I haven't had to deal with them much so far apart from the few ambush groups in the first ark which went fine... Knock on wood...

Assume INF isn't an issue but I don't want to spend any real money on this right now.

(What is the iTrial soft cap anyway? its 60%ish right?)

  25. Any one have any ideas on how I can make this more effctive in the iTrials like MAG, UG, MoM. Where the amount of defense you have matters very little.

Targeting Drone is their for thematic reasons and I am unwilling to part with it. I would like to put in more recharge but I don't see any way to do that.

(FYI the incarnate ability may not be what I have on live but the rest is more or less correct. yes I do have the Glad +3 slotted already)
