Quote:I'm glad to know I'm not alone in thinking this!Ah... so MM Boss "Speed Runs" are fixed. This is just another example of some immutable facts in CoX
0010 There will always be someone finding/exploiting a hole in AE for leveling/tickets.
0020 This will generate many farms and such.
0030 The Devs will know about it eventually, usually sooner rather than later.
0040 The Devs will get around to fixing it, usually before the exploit could cause a major disruption, such as 2xp days.
0050 A lot of people will cry "damn you Dev's for imposing your will on my d00ds."
0060 It will quiet down.
0070 Goto 0010
Hence why, I too believe AE was a failure in terms of a game feature, and will continue to be such until the entire risk vs. reward system for it is re-created from scratch.
I still hold by my "Mission Complexity Factor" solution. -

Quote:No. They didn't do anything to Willpower from what I know.Ok so I was told that they nerfed Willpower? I know why they did but why now? My first level 50, Shikratia, is Superstrength and Willpower and I just got her IO's and set just the way I need her. Everytime I am enjoying something, not abusing it, they nerf it :O This isn't fair....
So I guess the question here is, did they really nerf Willpower? -

Old topic.
Long story short, Villain side just doesn't have a specific gathering point.
Mercy Island is one of the crappiest zones in the entire game (blue side and red side combined), and is the only zone accessible to 'fresh' characters that just came off the character creator.
The closest thing to Atlas Plaza we have villain side is Aeon Square. Sadly, you need to be at least 12+ to get there "safely". -
Getting two or more critical hits with Broadsword's tier 9 attack, Head Splitter. It always makes me wince with joy when I hear that satisfying tearing sound and seeing a pair of giant orange numbers fly into the air!
Spending hours and hours and hours and hours on the costume creator because I just love it oh so much!
Pummel. I love that attack. No other attack makes me feel like such an oppressive goon!
Using Foot Stomp in the middle of a bunch of destructible object in a Mayhem mission, just to watch everything get wrecked around my character, which papers and bits of trash flying everywhere!
Filling my inspiration tray with red inspirations, and using them on my Energy Melee Brute with full Fury with Energy Transfer and one-shotting a boss.
Standing in the middle of a large group of enemies with my Spines/Fire Scrapper!
Last but not least...
Dual Pistols. I love everything about that set. It fully restored my interest in this game after about 4 years. -
You know what's the biggest problem with the game?
Those stupid "Hunt X Council" missions on hero side!!!!
THE 5TH COLUMN ARE TAKING OVER THE COUNCIL!!!!
A. How are they a THREAT still?
B. It's incredibly difficult to find Council members without having to fight off a huge 5th Column boss.
C. I feel BAD for the Council! I jump in there, he's already getting beaten and shot at, and then I'm gonna HELP 5th Column by beating him up more?! How is that a heroic act?! xD
GAWD! -

Everything everyone's said basically sums up life in Virtue.
The only thing I'd add is that from my personal experience, Virtue tends to appeal to a more 'mature' player base, in terms of age. Maybe it's because of the RP; I don't know. But it is what I've observed, and it is one of the reasons I enjoy it.
Most people I've interacted with are around my age (20), if not older (or at least they act like it, if they're lying!), and this was one of the factors that makes Virtue feel like 'home' to me.
All in all, I don't see how anyone would be turned off by Virtue. We have EVERYTHING here. You're bound to find a community for your interests! -

Seriously, the excitement of a new issue is only half the fun. The other half is the sudden flood of these awesome, hilarious threads!
No matter what the developers do, there is SOMEONE who finds SOMETHING to complain about! -
Mmmm...
I love this time of year. Just before new issue release...
Nothing like the fresh smell of doom just before the news of an issue rolls out! -

I have a Dual Blades/Super Reflexes Brute. She's a "time hopper". Super Reflexes is taken as her jumping in and out of sync with time, or simply hopping from one parallel timeline to another for very short durations, making her simply 'flicker' in an out of existence, which would make her harder to hit.

I find it rather odd that both Longbow and Arachnos are more visible on villain side than blue side.
You don't get a whole lot of missions on blue side involving Arachnos...
Except maybe after Faultline revamp... -

Quote:I do not recall such an incident. On Friday (IIRC) there was briefly a 'closed beta' ultra mode section that hadn't been created correctly and was visible.
Its pretty likely the Ultra testing will begin early next week from that little hiccup by on of the Community team
If you're referring to the thread with the screenshot of the guy standing in Ouroboros, that was not Ultra Mode. That was an artifact (or feature) of ATI video cards. -

This is what I don't get...
No one in this thread started bashing people for not liking red side.
The only bashing that happened was because some people stated, with a very "my opinion is fact" tone, that they do not play on villain side because the villain side market is broken, because population is lower, or that they're had some terrible experience with it at some point.
And then when others, me included, stated that 'Hey, I think you're wrong in your reasoning because of anecdotal evidence, or because of <insert law of economics>, or etc.', they immediately got defensive over it, claiming that we're blind to the truth or something.
And now we're being called "red side boosters" who are being "jackasses about it".
We need a facepalm emote...
No one here is "defending" red side. People are questioning your reasoning and providing counter arguments. If someone is literally "defending" red side, and I managed to miss it, then I still need a facepalm emote... -
Quote:Your theory is a lie! And I can prove it!A friend of mine recently came up with a new statement which he calls the Theory of Theories. Since this thread is all theorycraft, I thought it would be appropriate.
The theory is that every theoretical debate has three arguments, and that argument C is always correct.
Argument A: My theory is the truth, but I can't prove it.
Argument B: Your theory is a lie, but I can't prove it.
Argument C: Shut up.
Of course, this is just a theory. And I can't prove it. -
Quote:Thank you...This is incorrect.
You are posting an observation ("Supply is low redside"), and a conclusion that was not reached by any stretch of logic ("The market is flawed").
The others are posting the same observation ("Supply is low redside"), but take into account the fact that population is low, which means demand is also low. In a smaller market, there is a larger gap between rich and poor. This is an economic fact, not an illogical leap. There is no flaw.
