3 times as much is still better than the 3 times as less.

No where did they say they were becoming the billionairs that WoW is making a company, but three times the return as before is always a good thing for every company.

Now, if they're making three times as much as before and still LOSING money, well, I'd hope they'd just shut down.

  3. I can believe it seeing how much I've payed to Paragon Studios since it went to F2P with little features like...extra costume slots, extra enhancement trays, the costume bundles I was buying before and after...and oh yeah...wanting to make those purple set IOs +5 >_>;;

Then the feeling in game rams the point home even further.

I'm not saying everything should be free, that would be stupid. But with the Dev stated goal of designing everything for ViP's because we are still their primary focus, I think they aren't getting the true feeling of what it feels like to come on board completely new. That more than a few of the RL friends I talked into giving it a shot, had the same complaint upon quiting, that it felt like the free and premium levels were nothing more than a glorified trial tells me all I needed to know.

    Old debate is old though.
I see. Yeah, if they can't shell out 5 dollars then for the chat unlock (and then I believe the monthly Paragon Reward Token to slowly move up the ladder) I don't think I'm going to worry much about the F2P who can't stay due to chat features.

Loving my ELA/TW. Havent seen many of that combo as a Tanker, though I think most people who went with TW went Brute/Scrapper.

I'm actually enjoying my TW Tanker more than my now shelved TW/EA Scrapper, but the down side to it on the Tanker is Whirling Smash and Arc of Destruction are at levels 35 and 38 :/ Makes exemping less than lvl 30 really unfun for me.

    This was my thought.

Tell them to try soloing at a lower level of difficulty that gives them the feel they want.

If they want to up the difficulty, then they need to remember it gets harder for that reason.

Could my DB/WP solo at 4/8 (before I stripped it of IOs)? Yes! But it wasn't always easy (Arachnos are a different beast than Council for instance).
  7. Truthfully, I couldn't imagine making a FA character and not taking both! But if one had to be dropped, I'd drop BU over FE.
  8. Titan Weapons!

    Damage! Awesome Taunt! AOE! ST!

What more can you ask for?!
  9. My first thought is, doesn't it just take tier 3 to get chat features unlocked?

While I love the art style of CoH, I agree with the reviewer in that it's all subjective on that part, as I don't care for the original competitions art, but like the major fantasy competitions art style.

The review seemed fair though, and yeah, I've seen more than a few friends leave for the newest competition :/
  10. My name sake has been rerolled into a different powerset 10-15 times, and made it to 50 about 8-13 of those times (just couldnt get into AR and Archery ). But that's more me trying to find just the right feel for her (and why I make some of the suggestions I do )

Really that's my main character and most played, and it's often times funny to see people say "I thought you were [insert this AT and Powerset combo here]" and have other people respond "That was last week"

Needless to say, Paragon Studios has made some money off me for rename tokens.

I do come up with other concepts that I quite enjoy, but don't stay with as often for different reasons and of some of those, I've rerolled into new powersets as well.
  11. Loved the pieces! Think my favorite is the jumping out of the helicopter one.
  12. Like the article says, Twilight keeps millions of people in awe, while keeping millions of people befuddled.

And like a SG member who hated and now enjoys Twilight said, "Get over the sparkle, it lasted all of 6mins"

All that said, I can't disagree with the list. Of the list only "The Hunger Games" is an unknown to me, but the movie looked really interresting.

And of the movies, I'd say it's the Bond film that holds the least attention for me personally, with Twilight coming in second (and I personally didnt have a problem with book 1 and 2, while 3 and 4 bored me)

Assault rifle is weird beyond belief, Broadsword swings like a baseball bat, Titan Weapons hates your spine, Dual Pistols is replete with more unnecessary twists than an M Night Shyamalan movie and Haymaker isn't a haymaker. "Authenticity" is not something I've ever had the impression that City of Heroes is striving for. That and realism just are not intentional goals. When they happen, it's accidental, and when they don't, that's just how things go.

To my eyes, Martial Arts is cool irrespective of how accurate it is to any real life martial art. The few times I've used it, as a point of fact, I've used it to represent fast hand-to-hand combat, and almost never actual real martial arts. I used it on my fast kicking robot long ago inspired by Rook from Rise 2: Resurrection and I used it on my 600-year-old transcended kung fu master who's about as realistic as Jackie Chan sliding down the Willemswerf building's sloped glass in Who Am I? I used to use it for my action school girl, but replaced it with Street Justice because I laughed my *** off at a tiny little girl using those painful-looking attacks, and I had it on my Ghost in the Shell/Battle Angel Alita inspired human-looking cyborg, who eventually swapped over for Super Strength because I could now have a hero using that who wasn't a Tanker. Years ago, I had a concept for a character who had an ability reminiscent of a video game quicksave, allowing him/her to return to a previous save upon getting hit and try something else to dodge the attack. That will likely be Martial Arts, as well, if it's not Dual Blades. That remains to be seen.

No, Martial Arts is not realistic and, for the most part, isn't even logical. But it's still damn cool and I honestly don't need it to be Street Justice for me to like it.
Now see...Im not looking to turn MA into StJ. Or StJ into MA. I just want to mix and match my favorite animations from both sets into one.

If they just made it so MA could use StJ animations, Id use a MA Scrappers. Same in reverse.

However, I think there's room in making the animations usable by both, and then letting people decide which set's mechanics they like best, since they're pretty even as it is in terms of damage.

  15. *sigh* Numina and Eden again?!

They do know they have LGTF, STF/LRSF, Sutter/Kal, and Kahn/Cuda right?

I am happy about ITF though! If they're going to repeat a WST so soon, Id rather it be THAT ONE.

The same thing kind of applies to the sky raiders.

These are supposed to be limited number organizations and yet they can still pull the same old Zerg Rush (Kekekekeke) tactics as any other group.
That's just a problem with Lore versus game mechanics.

Not suppossed to be more than 5000 supers world wide either.

    Lore question.

Could also change the gender to female with the science booster power.
  18. Never turn it off. Wouldn't feel like a hero if I did.

Oh, well some of do challenges, like not nomming on those green skittles.

It's also just different using a power and using inspirations.

I actually like quite a few of Super Strengths moves. In fact, I can't imagine not using the Footstomp Animation for Footstomp! I love it!

For me it's mostly wanting to see MA and StJ animations brought across to each other. Though I wouldn't mind a few SS animations given a martial arts feel to them.

Pretty much this. It just adds a little more to how you survive. And with a IOed out INV it becomes less of a need really, buuut, it still just adds a bit more.

What's the Tanker set look like? No idea on the set bonuses or the proc.
  23. Really? I always liked to think of it as a knee to the face as they tried to stand back up after I knocked them down.

Of course. That would be the best thing ever.
I mean the same animation times as the current animations have >_>

I don't expect Crane Kick to get a 1.548 animation for it's 1.848 animation attack.
