What system could there be that would allow me to use these unlockable costume pieces at character creation, but would still suck hard? Well, there are a few options.

    1. The already-mentioned system of costume unlock tokens. When one character unlocks a task-specific costume set, that character gets a token tradable only within the same account. So I can unlock, say, the Roman Axe with one character, then trade that token to another character. One unlock for one costume set. Seems fair. If I want the costume set on another character, I have to unlock it again, just not necessarily with the same character.

    2. Crappy global unlocks. We have character-specific unlocks tied to specific badges. Kill 100 Overseers, get a spiffy sword, but only on THAT character. So how about we create an extra tier of badges that unlock these pieces... Globally. If 100 Overseers on one character gets me a cool sword, could, say, 1000 Overseers between ALL my characters not unlock it for everyone? An ITF earns me an armour set for all characters. Two earn me Nictus weapons. Could, then, 10 and 20, respectively, not earn this for ALL characters? It would still suck, and in fact it would such WORSE, but it would only have to be done once, and not necessarily on the same one character. This allows us to have longer-standing goals in the game, to boot.

That's about all I can think of right now.
I actually don't mind the defeat badges being tied to costume pieces.

You get a friend, you send out a tell lf help, and you get it.

The problem with vanguard and roman items, is they're level locked for lvl 35+ (thus to the poster who replied to be, why I don't make a new toon, and go to Oro...I can't...no earning of vangaurd merits untill lvl 35 when you complete the RWZ starting contact).

For the vanguard pieces, Ive said let people do the join vanguard arc at lvl 1, they'll need to get a high level to help them out on the hunt mission for sure, but after that, they can start gaining merits for it...with a little help its down quickly.

OR they can allow vanguard merits to be tradeable to others.

Sadly, this doesn't leave me any idea on how to do the roman pieces, outside of account wide unlocks.

I'm here to earn XP and Influnce you can all fend for yourselves." The Kin pretty much insulted his way right back outside that cave in PI by making it pretty clear we could all die for all he cared as long as HE made XP and INF faster. Little Hint .. taking powers that HELP your potential team mates aids in that whole process LOL
This right here. this is why I...

    1) Don't understand KINS who don't take a power that helps their teammates move faster. Powers are recharing faster...so going just with the hero ATs melee's big attacks/defense clickies are recharing faster, trollers controls/debuffs/buffs are coming back faster, defenders the same, blasters big attacks are coming back fast and now they have the end to use them often, so things are dying faster.

Why wouldn't you take it? And if you don't, why are you at least putting it in your sig? I've seen more than a few put "KIN" in their lft description, not once have I seen "KIN with no SB"

    2) This is also why I don't play a KIN, that 2min recharge kills it for me. When they make it 4 mins, I'll make a KIN.

If I can come up with a concept for Raluu, sure...but my favorite shield to make concepts for is the Talasorian Shield (I consider it the best shield in game). I dont want to work another 35 levels for a concept, and then hope to get the vanguard merits for it.

Why not change the worthless (admittedly they're worthless imo) minor mez resistances (like 2% immobilize resistance in melee sets), and the debt protection set bonuses, and replace them with more +END bonuses?

That really makes no sense. They're not endurance points. They're a % of being completely rested. Yet you spend points on powers which remain static. If I've had a power for 30 levels, shouldn't I be better at using it? Not only should that power do more damage, but I should be much more efficient in its use. If the power costs me 5 points at level 1, shouldn't it maybe cost me 3 at level 30? 2 at level 50? This would make it important for people to be careful about when they select different powers. The earlier you take those end-heavy powers, the harder it is on you at first but the lower they'll cost later on.

Alternatively, if the endurance cost of a power doesn't change, then shouldn't we be getting more endurance to spend? That would also show how we're getting more efficient in our power use. We do more damage, the enemies do more damage, so we get more hit points. That's "health". Health could just as well be shown as a % of total, too, but it's not because it doesn't make sense given the way the game works. The same is no less true of endurance. It doesn't make sense to have it as a % of total.

By changing endurance to actually make sense within the framework of the game, it would really solve all these other questions altogether. Rest, recovery, Stamina, etc. would all fit within the framework in exactly the same way the health issues currently do. You don't hear anyone complaining about regeneration, do you? I know I don't. Why? Because as you go up in level you get more health points. Lower level attacks do less damage relative to the total number of points you have, as befits a more healthy hero/villain. You've learned how to take more damage by going up in levels. It's foolishly illogical to think of endurance in any other way.

I don't because I like to think of it purely as a game mechanic, and not...oh look at me, I have these enhancements hanging all over me. You don't see Wolverine going out and getting enhancements.

I do alot of PuGing. Which I don't find so bad, this is how you meet some really good people. But it also means you'll meet some annoying people.

As I don't mind it, and generally I find most people like having me on the team, it's not so bad.

"Okay look, you want down my toons pants so much, at least try to get to know her"

    "But I don't RP."

    "But you cyber?"

    "yeah."

    "Isn't that basically RPing?"

    "Sooo...RP it."

"I don't want to. Why won't you cyber?"

    "I don't cyber. Usually I FTB anyways."

...havent seen them since. Which is kinda sad, before that day, I enjoyed talking to them.

    Things I've been kicked for...

SG RP Respec Trial...I brought along my Spines/Dark, cocky attitude, make fun of everyone 11 year old hero.

I get a tell "((I don't know if I should kick or not. ICly I would, but OOCly I wouldn't"

I respond "((lol...you can just say you do, and I can help OOCly OR just do it and I'll find it funny))"

That was right before the last mission of the respec, and I was kicked. OOCly I was glad they were able to complete it, I would of teased them terribly ICly if they didn't.

I was kicked one other time, for defending another players power choices.

    I've only kicked someone twice...

1 was a RAD/ Defender who wanted to be just a healer, spamming AOE Heal, Aid Other, attacking was almost non-existant, and kept dying because he'd stay in melee with Mary. And wouldn't use the the toggle debuffs, because they drained his END.

This one I feel a bit bad about, as after lots and lots of defeats, we beat the tenth spawn of Mary (on the KHTF), and really didn't matter after that point, but I had everyone on my team sending me tells to kick him (before and after we defeated her). But he was annoying me so much, because he wasn't listening, that I did.

This was back when she actually grew in levels as you defeated her.

The second was on last mission of a STF. Got a message of "If you don't like it, I can leave." Being very snotty to me. So I kicked and said "I'll save us both the headache" Should I have? Eh. Maybe, maybe not, again had members saying to kick him. I believe I'm on his global ignore list now.

I've never kicked someone for power choices though. I might complain about power choices in my SG OOC channel, but I've never kicked for it.

And I do get annoyed by the KINs with SB, who refuse to give it to team members with low end. I don't even go about saying "SB me". I let the KIN go about it how they normally do. I'll send a tell, hey, so and so is low on end they can use a SB, if I have the star.

But, I've never kicked a KIN who didn't have SB. But if you do grab it, I think you should be using it at least when a team member is sucking wind.

I'll sigh and get annoyed at tanks who keep getting mezzed because they didn't take their mez protection, even more so if they complain about it. Same with any melee really. Makes it worse when they blame the defenders for not keeping them alive.

If they do the complaining or blame the rest of the team, I'll tell them.

I don't care for the Trollers with 1 power from their Primary and all their secondary or the Defender with their tier 1 secondary (I find this worse with Archery and AR Defenders who skip their nuke)...but I've never kicked them.

And I get REALLY annoyed by Cold Doms, Sonics, FF, Thermals who skip the ally buff shields. While I haven't kicked any of them who lack them, I promise you, if I invite any of those toons, part of the reason why is for those buffs.

This was made plenty obvious when running a PuG ITF, and out of 5 support toons, all the above mentioned Secondarys (trollers, 1 corr), none of them had the shields. *sigh* Luckily for me, my Dark/Sonic Defender didn't need them. But I don't recall if we actually finished that ITF.
  14. Our base designer toook my advice, with the entrance being in the center of the of the map, and 4 directions (north, east, south, west) to go to.

Teleporters are easy to see and right off to the side.

We don't get fancy into heavy item stacking, but that's due more to the some members lagging in the base if we do that, than the base designed being unable to do it.

That said, I've seen some bases designed great, but I've had a hard time navigating through them. But then I chalk that up to, if I was a more active member (or a member) I'd probably know the base a bit better.

Actually I'll expand that slightly. I would kick anyone, regardless of AT, who seems to be ignoring one of their two powersets. However I've never encountered anyone doing that on another AT. I don't expect people to take all powers from both powersets and I don't care that much WHICH powers you take. However you should look as if you're making the effort to use the set in the way that it was intended (which for Masterminds means taking the pets).

That being said I rarely bother to check people's power selections so I normally only notice if they either tell me up-front or I happen to notice them behaving wierdly during play.
What abput blasters who skip most of their Secondary? Like alot of /EM blasters?
  17. ..a list of Dual Pistols DPS was made, and my search fu is obviously garbage, as I can't find it. :/

Not that I'm against the suggestion. It's a good suggestion, if the devs wanted to spend some time with it, I don't see the problem.

However, in my experience most RPers ignore the effect of "bursting into light" keeping it just another game mechanic.

Like how alot of RPers don't automatically assume the glow on regen was always there, before you could turn it off.

Some things just require a visual cue for the player, whether they'd actually be there or not.

Anyways, petty arguments with trolls aside, I don't really agree with the OP's idea. But I still do think there is something wrong with almost 90% of characters I meet in the game share a specific power: Stamina.

Personally, I'd boost up the base endurance recovery for all character by half the value of Stamina so that there is less need for the power, and that we can see more variety. But it looks like there is gonna be no change in that area.
Actually. From a concept point of view, super hero/super villains, would most likely have fitness from a concept point of view.

So why wouldn't 90% of them have it as a power pool?

These are people who usually engage in lots and lots of physical activity.

Or going from a "well mines a robot" hero/villain...they'll want a better power supply.

You don't stay fit, you'll be sucking wind before you finish running that first mile.

Though I have to say, while you (even me, I'd never skip on the fitness pool either...I only made one build that would ever do it, and that was a DM/Rgen that I'd have to spec into the build) wouldn't do it, doesn't mean it can't be done.

If you want to be non-stop, hardly ever rest, kick-butt and go.

It can be done. It has been done.

Fitness is an option. It's a popular option. And it's a popular option for a reason.

This however is not a reason to make it an inherent. If someone doesn't want to be sucking wind, they should build for it. If that means putting Stamina into their build versus other things, that's up to them.

Howling Twilight is WAY MORE than an AOE REZ.

It's a huge -Regen Debuff! For those AV/GM encounters, you should be using it on the AV everytime it's up.

It's also an AOE auto hit stun.
  22. Plainguy, I see a problem with your slotting.

Powersink is auto hit, instead of slotting ENDMOD/ACC/RCH IOs, you should stick with just ENDMOD/RCH IOs.
