Scrapper DAMAGE !! single target .

And kept there own uniek STALKER stealth assasinate and placate . (this part people choose to ignore always)

So wth are you asking about buffs for stalkers >.<
GOD makes sound like stalker prebuff were not playable ... i mean all those poor stalkers playing for 1 year without playable AT .

EDIT= SORRY BRAND X see i missread am too tired so my humble apologies .
For trying to flame you without a reason , thinking you were asking for stalker buffs >.<
See i dont edit the rest , so people can laugh at the mistake
No worries, I forgot to put "not" the Scrapper AT.

I've done fine on my Scrappers, I havent seen a reason to buff them yet (that flat critical was just something I said I wouldn't be against, not that I think they need).

As for Stalkers, I only wish I didn't have to take EVERY power in my primary. And with all the set buffs, I'm getting to the point where I'm taking 8-9 powers out of my secondary.

I mean, i find that a good thing, but it's limiting my builds in the concept areas. Thank gawd a lot of my concepts can rely on Ninja Run, or I'd really be hurting.

For Stalker buffs, well, the DPS is lower, and I really can't say I've found Placate + AS to really make up for the lack of DPS, but the DPS still seems pretty decent. I don't think giving Stalkers Scrapper dmg mods would break anything.

But if I was to pick just one thing to improve them, it would be an increase in max health.
  2. ...haven't seen any around Praetoria yet, and been thinking about going this route with one, what are the current thoughts on it?

Is it just terrible due to Fire's DoTs and Elec's Sleep?

I'm not sure if the damage buff stacks or how exactly it works with Kinetic Melee, but going by mids...

I had a friends DPS at 146 without Siphon Power and 212 with Siphon Power (this includes there being procs in the powers).

Doing a quick check Dark Melee seems to be around 166 without Soul Drain, and 211 with just one target in range of Soul Drain.

That's using the following DPS chains...

    CS - SB - BB - QS - SB - BB

    MG - SM - SL - SM

However, this just assume ST damage.

AOE wise...hmmm...I'm not sure which is better. Though I'd say KM's is better mitigation AOE wise. Knockdown AND additional -DMG.

However, DM has Soul Drain, Dark Consumption (if you take it), and Shadow Maul (which you need the mobs setup just right to leverage for a lot of people, and a lot of people don't have the patience to strafe to the side to use it either).

For AOE mitigation, I'd think KM was better, however, for single target, hmmm...KM is stacking that -DMG, however DM has that -tohit stacking, plus the heal from Siphon Life going off every 4.62 seconds.

This is all assuming a lot btw, as you would need the build with the AOE as well as the +RCH to obtain these chains.

I've gotten a Dark Melee to lvl 50. I'm having way more fun with Kinetic Melee (playing it on a stalker currently). So imo, KM is better, as it's jsut more fun for me, and has great DPS.

From a numbers standpoint, I don't think you'll go wrong with either. For fun, well that's subjective.

On paper scrapper look and feels fine , just the new model brute is out .
And it feels and drives beter , does both do the job ? yes they do .
But sadly criticals need to be changed into something psychical viewable .
Remember blasters gotten trough 2 changes before settling down on this current system.
    And it works well .

Scrappers needs a update in VIEWABLE something , i dont care if its a red bar that builds up then suddenly unleash all your criticals . (ok ok too overpowered)
But something that makes criticals more controlled would be lovely .
Especially since stalkers can control there criticals .
Truthfully, just because a Stalker can control one crit every so often, doesn't, imo, mean Scrappers need to control theirs.

I don't even think Scrappers as a whole need improvement. Maybe some individual set tweaks here and there, but [edit]not[/edit] the Scrapper AT.

Not that I wouldn't mind flat criticals across the board against any enemy...15-20% Crit rate on any enemy type would be yummy!

As I said, you're turning into the JB of the stalker world. You want your stalkers to have all the benefits of being a stalker but with none of the downsides just as JB wants all the benefits of tanker toughness but without the balance of having lower damage output.

If you want a low HP character with the ability to hide, placate and dish out extreme burst damage while terrorizing a spawn while doing so, you play a stalker. And you deal with low HP and low AoE output. If you can't handle playing the niche AT that holds a superior place in a niche area of the game, then don't play that farkin AT.

Stalker: Niche burst damage AT specifically built for PvP then reworked to make it slightly more accepted in normal team PvE

Brutes and scrappers: generalist damage dealers with enough mitigation to handle off tanking. Off-tanking can be described as "tanking enough for practically everything in the game when playing with competent teams."

Tanks: Niche damage soaker aggro magnet.

All four are balanced quite well for what they do. Give it up, stop being a JB.
Sounds like Bill is saying buff Stalker PvP damage so Regen scrappers will fear them!

This. While I'm not sure if I'd callit unfair per se. But I wouldn't mind just an increase in HP cap, but keeping base HP the same.

It's just... every attempt I've made at Spines/ peters out before level ten, and I've ended up deleting them.

I'm hoping to hear some other opinions of the set, and get motivated to it. I'm getting kinda blah with most the others, want to wait with KM until the herd thins... and thought maybe it time to try Spines again.
For all that talk of Electric Melee's lack of single target, I still find it way ahead of Spines lack of Single Target (this is assuming you use JL on single targets as well).

And that may be your problem. I know I'd much rather play an awesome single target set with a lack of AOE (except for Dark Melee, it just bores me, but I blame that on the animations), than Spines AOE goodness and lack of single target.

Best bet...skip it and move on!
  11. Scrappers will never become obsolete as long as I'm paying to play!

While I have thought up rolling 1 more brute, Scrappers will always be what I consider the best AT.

Remember, Brutes only get up to Tanker resistance levels, when Brutes are teamed with the right Corr/Def/MM/Troller. Barring of course, Electric and Fire Armors specific heavy resist type.

As for defense, all ATs have been able to get up to softcap defenses, so I'd say that's a bit of a wash.

You currently only have 10% tohit with tactics on (Mids shows the BU proc as always on when you toggle it on) so thats not too bad. I would chuck the +Percep for the +to hit in Build up. If you could move around a slot to BU you should really put in another recharge IO.

It might work, and you might like it. I don't think I would be able to enjoy it though.
You know, you're right. Don't know why I put in the +Perception proc, with HS alone, that's more than good enough in PvE.

My hope is the resists can cover any one shots...probably not always, but everyone does it with a scrapper, and it can't be much worse than doing it with a squishy. Sooo...here's hoping

So far, this is what I'm thinking of going with, on a strictly PVE build (2nd build will be for PVP)...yeah...few PVP IOs in there, BUT with A Merits, I can have multiple toons working on getting me those much faster.

    44.5% S/L Defense, 33.9% F/C Defense, 38.9% E/N Defense

My goal is have a Stalker going out and soloing AVs...so with those defenses and roughly 167.5 DPS not counting Build Up (CS - BB - SB - FB - BB - SB) ...and I THINK it has the END Recovery with SoW in play to keep going for quite awhile...backed up by all that -DMG...survival seems to be adequate.

My only thought is, do I need all that +ACC and +To-Hit. Maybe I don't need Tactics? Kismet will be giving 6% To-Hit bonus...and with all the global ACC, the attacks should be at 95% ACC without the tohit.

Burst is not a pet like LR.

Also, when CS crits, you don't get extra damage, you get a chance at Build Up instantly recharging.

Also, CS doesn't automatically crit out of hide, it's limited to a 20% chance (no idea if the teammates being in range effect the chance to crit on it).

Is that still true? If so, anyone know what the exact numbers are? Because that might make building chains a bit easier.
to my knowledge all that's been fixed.
  16. Hmmm...curious. How much of a loss in DPS is it for Scrappers, if you replace Quick Strike with Focused Burst?

On a Stalker is looks to only be a small decrease, from 59.4 to 57.4.

that small of a decrease with an even easier recharge requirement, and well, FB is just fun imo...

So what are the thoughts on that?
  17. Blueside...Independence Port, as it would give people more of a reason to team there. Or Galaxy City as more people would want to start there.

Redside...St Martial. It's the only zone I just don't care to go to, when I play redside.

The blaster I will do with traps I think for fun. But can't decide between the corr or def versions.

Am totally stoked to see some of these changes tho, especially the emailing inf/enhs WOW did I ever think I would never see that happen in CoH.
This is all you have to ask yourself with a DP/KIN or KIN/DP, when do you want the blasts and when do you want the Buffs?

Personally, if I was to go with the combo of Dual Pistols and Kinetics...I'd go Corr. I'd rather level up and get my blasts quick, then get Falcrum Shift 6 levels earlier.
  19. My first 50 was a Claws/Regen (Justice-Girl, Victory Server) was a mix homage of Ms. Liberty, Captain America and Wolverine.

My second 50 was a homage to Deadpool (Legendary, Katana/Regen, Victory Server) in that he had a similar costume (I reverse the color scheme, Black with a stripe, had a mask with hair option, tucked in pants)...which only one person ever sent me a tell saying it looked like it was deadpool inspired. Similar background, lacking the mutilation, but same style of personality. Even took Teleport as a travel power.

My first Virture toon (after those two 50's) was inspired by Super-Girl. Void-Girl (MA/INV). Her name got genericed by accident, when they went to generic the costume. Which personally, I thought was a bit unfair, as while the colors were the same (Red/Blue/Yellow), and the mini skirt was there, I don't recall Super-Girl ever wearing large heavy buckled boots, banded heavy buckled gloves, or had a V (Vindicator Chest Detail) on her chest. So while the colors of the outfit should give away the inspiration, I still think it was different enough on it's own.

After that generic though, I did come up with my own original concept in BrandX, sooo...maybe it's not so bad.

However, after that, I've had a few others...

My Fire/Earth Dom, is kinda inspired by Magik (of the X-Men) but in background only, which only came about as I was brainstorming what to do for a background for a toon who's only purpose to me was "I want to make a toon with cat ears, a cat tail, bat wings, winged boots, and uses the magic winged gloves" (six wings total!)...So, a mutant with cat ears and a cat tail and the ability to teleport through a dimension known as Heaven (not THEE Heaven...in fact this Heaven is more like hell), was kidnapped and made it's queen before escaping...blah blah blah...imbued with the dimensions magic (developes batwings and the powers of Fire/Earth Dom) escapes and does good (I need to get her to hero side now, as she was never really a villain).

Butterfly-Girl/Cold-Kiss/Jaime Priest is a homage to a manga, and is a guy who acts as a girl, dresses like a girl, due to his twin sister dying when she saved his life. He's actually one of my favorite ones to RP, as he so's full of energy, personality is just out there, but it constantly gets ruined by someone "just automatically knowing it's really a guy" without any way to know it (mind you, when they had powers that could tell, either by me reading their bio or me knowing the toon...it was no problem...buuuut the few who kept ruining it, just made it worse and worse). This is probably my second favorite character to RP, after my main as well, so I'm sure I'll bring her/him back though, as he really is lots of fun for me.
