  1. Thanks for the replies

With how the Stealth IO now works, I was just curious if it works the same way.
  2. Well the reason to have a low level proc, is if it's part of a set, you can get the set bonus.

I slot all my powers with lvl 33 IO sets, so I get the set bonuses when exemped to level 30+

Even get the bonuses in a power I don't have access to.

Now some figure they don't NEED those bonuses when exemped that low, but then I figure, why the hell not have them You don't NEED the level 50 enhancement values.
  3. ...is the effect of the proc only on when the toggle is (like the Stealth Proc) or is it always in effect, as long as it's slotted in a power?

I love this show, I do, but I'm not thrilled with the "will he or won't he" plot with the intersect. It seems to be the goto plot when they aren't moving the overall story forward. And this show has always moved forward and with Chuck unable to access the intersect (Oh no could it be Sara's fault!!! They may have to break up! Spying or Sarah? There goes Chucks happiness.) it feels awfully like the show is spinning it's wheels a little.
I never once felt like it was a "They may have to break up!" for Chuck and Sara, with the current plot line.

It felt more like a "Time Chuck learns not to rely on Sara".

I just suggested that maybe they could tighten it up a bit with the animation, that's all.
It has an animation time of 2.83 seconds.

It does the same damage as Total Focus, which has an animation time of 3.3 seconds.

Personally, I'd rather see a bit less time on Focused Burst.

Naw, that doesn't work for me. Specifically, it doesn't work for some of my characters. Right now I'm playing my Native American mutant, Liberty Ace. His backstory is completely compatible with the game lore, so he's not going to have any problem with the Incarnate stuff. Some of my other characters, though aren't compatible.

The easiest way to solve this issue is for the Devs to add a word or two to each of the Origin of Power and Incarnate arcs. When we're told that "no mutants existed before 1939" that's annoying, but it could be readily fixed by saying, "the number of mutants radically increased after 1939." That allows for both the game lore *and* players to have characters who don't fit. Simple solution.
Or if it's that much of a bother, there's two other options...

    1) Change your toon not to be so old

    2) Change your toon to be way older! The cannon also says that the well of furies was open before, so mutant origins likely exsisted the last time it was open before Statesman and Recluse.

If you don't, and if you don't simply have a great fondness for Tankers (I know people who do), then play a Brute or a Scrapper.
I don't know if it's limited to Shield and Invulnerability Scrappers.

My Willpower Scrapper tanked A LOT of AVs, just fine. Mind you, I had Confront (Dual Blades Confront is awesome), and it was only left to single hard target AVs/GMs (couldnt tank the STF though), but that's still tanking

Well, my WP Tanker basically did well against them, but I didn't try 4/8 difficulty (wasnt an option then).

But WP tends to do well against Rularuu enemies.

  14. All of this said...I think I see the problem.

Basically anything they do to make people say, "Yeah. Lets grab that stalker." will have people saying "OMG what?!"

Up the DMG mod, so they're actually better at damage, PvP will go to the stalkers.

Up Build Up +damage, PvP will go to the stalkers.

Tag on any noticeable amount of -Regen to AS, PvP OMGness and people going, oh sure, the stalkers can all solo AVs and GMs now.

I know many people go lolPvP, but it's a group of people who play the game.

And really any change is likely to just create more headaches.

Look at the Brute change. Nevermind that for most Brute players it was a buff. Nevermind, that even the Brute players who werent even coming close to top end Brute play, moan about the change, because while they weren't that good, it means they cant have that higher benchmark.

Tack on a bit more health, and it'll become OMG stalkers are even harder to kill now in PvP.

Could wait for i20 though. All the complaints about lack of AOE. Maybe that second incarnate slot that's some sort of AOE power will just turn out to be extremely awesome on a Stalker.

I know people have come up with other solutions, but I think a lot of these suggestions have possible PvP effects.

Totally agree, and don't see why they AS doesn't have the ability to slot interrupt reducers. My only guess is because of PvP really. :/

But you want to know a viable and reasonable request to improve the AT? Proliferation.

Because it seems all the complaining about AoE damage or sub-par 'scrapping' is coming from the perspective of min/maxed characters. That their Elec/Nin Stalker can't out-do a FM/SD Brute or a Spines/Fire Scrapper. Well, considering you're comparing a utility/mitigation mix set vs a pure offense mix, it's to be expected in some situations...

You want more offensive/AoE focused Stalkers? Ask for offensive/AoE focused sets. Ask for Fire Melee, ask for Fiery Embrace and Super Strength.

There's a reason I'm always interested in new and impressive sets for Stalkers, for a revised version of Shield Defense and an aggressive version of Ice melee or discussing possible new sets that might work for the AT rather than squeezed in. Because those sets would *really* leverage the position Stalkers are in. You couldn't complain about AoE if you've got Elec, Fire, Ice, Spines and Dual Blades, or lower damage when you've got Fire Armor and a version Shields that meshes with the AT.
Hmmm...been awhile since I ran a scrapper up against one.

However, I'd say it's more than 2 seconds.

    BU + AS + 1 attack = about 5-6 seconds.

But eh, like I said I make do with my Stalker The no one shotting of a -10 just made me feel It also matter to me, because I was hunting Fake Nemesis.

I agree with you, onb if they want more AOE they should ask for the new sets. HOWEVER, I think if ported to Scrappers they'd lose a lot of their AOE.

Fire Melee would lose either Fire Breath or FSC. Fire Armor would lose Blazing Aura.

I already said what I want in a Stalker Secondary in another thread (WP is pretty close to it). But then, I'm not worried about having massive amounts of AOE.

Yes, there are some problems, but I think first and foremost the placate mechanic needs to be looked at

Next, I would want something done about how resistance sets don't perform like defense- sure the new fix suppressing toggles is nice but you should be able to get another AS off mid battle... open with AS and then scrap (or flee)? c'mon stalkers aren't supposed to play like scrappers

Even caltrops just ruins it for me-I can't placate and execute something running from me in fear?

Other than those two, any suggestion slightly above marginal is going straight into the wastebin that sits under the suggestion box
At 45% defense, Ive had problems getting off on targets. Something nudges you, poof gone...and now you do little bity damage.

I meant more a long the lines of being told what to do versus choosing your own path. More prevalient in redside content imo, but the point stands.

And your right, Thor would beat Captain America, but Captain America can hold his own book.

Batman is an A lister, but really, he could lose to a lot of B listers by powers alone, if they keep him at his roots of a street level hero in body armor who knows how to fight.

I think that gets my point across...maybe...possibly...*shrug*

A-listers tend to have a shot (somehow) to stand up against the other A-listers, one on one. Maybe not win, but put on a good show.

Sticking to CoH storyline, Statesman (and even the rest of the Phalanx) and Recluse (and his Lts) are suppossed to the A-Listers, that require a group of B-Listers to take them on, with less of a really good show if they go one on one (obviously there are those who can already do this...but I think the point is made).

Now I do see it from an RP standpoint, like the OP was talking about. I think some of the game mechanics should just stayed game mechanics versus them trying to throw in RP story content to explain everything (power proliferation for example should of, admittedly imo, just put in, and not had a storyline done with it).

    Skyline...

...as it was mentioned in this thread...

    Watched Unstoppable.

The first 20-30 minutes is setup, and nicely done at that.

The rest of it is really well done, keep you on the edge of your seat suspense.

Now seeing as how it was inspired by true events, I went in, not knowing the true events, but only knowing one thing...some how they stop the train from causing real serious, town destroying destruction.

Not knowing the fate of any of the characters kept you wondering however.

Very well done movie imo. Worth the watch.

This has been done in television to great effect.

NCIS LA killed off one of their cast.

The Unit killed off one of their cast.

This all said, I think the problem doesn't come from shows not willing to kill off characters, but rather, the crew not willing to just get rid of the actor.

Also, you can't do it for every character of every show. You keep Buffy dead, it pretty much ends Buffy. Okay for the last show, but not so okay when the show is still going.

For comics like Spider-Man, Wonder Woman, Superman...ect...ect this just doesn't work. These characters have become iconic. Killing them off doesn't work, because to do so and make it really mean something, means you HAVE to make it stick.

Now, it's different when you plan this out in advance, and better imo that audience knows, this isn't going to change.

The problem is, they like to promote it as if it's sticking, and everyone knows it's not.

It however, can still be done to great effect.

I understand when people see it and complain about it constantly happening. For example, Collosus should of stayed dead. If they actually killed my favorite X-Men (while I'd hate it and likely hold it against them >_>), if it was done with the thought of it being permanent and done in a great fashion, while I'd miss Jubilee, and (likely) hate the writers for doing it, I don't want to see a "Oh I'm back" poorly/half-***** return.

This exception goes for Jean Grey though. Never understood why people complain about her death and return. She's the PHOENIX, that's what they do That said, Scoot should stay with Emma.

Of course, with today's audience, it doesn't look like there can be any new iconic comic book heroes who can last as long as the ones we know. Both writers and artist have no sense of a work ethic to stay with a property to get it to such a status.

I think this is one of the reasons Manga have become popular over american comics. They generally aren't planned to be on-going, never ending stories (there's nothing bad about such things imo), so they can do the killing off of characters, make it mean something, and keep it.

    Again, not 100%, but generally.

I do concur that flying powers (both 'Flight' and the Kheldian flying abilities) should be boosted beyond their current 58 MPH limit (especially when 3-slotted with good IOs) and should have something more akin to the 80 MPH that someone mentioned early. It should be SUPER-Flight!
    Agreed.

that's not how I read it at all.

Statesman and Recluse still drank from the wells.

The artifact that lets you draw from the well and morphs into something origin-specific, is a different route to obtaining the same state of incarnate as Statesman and Recluse.

The Well Statesman and Recluse drank from linked them to gods of mythology, and the quick route that they took linked them to it more than they wanted (at least in the case of Recluse who is trying to keep the power but sever the tie).

That's why the player's character is going about it a different route, to not be tied to it as much, while still maintaining the power.

Though, only problem I have with the story as it's given, is when you do obtain full incarnate status, it assumes you have all this massive strength.

I'd prefere to see it as...you're going from B-List heroes (possibly up there, but NOT quite), to becoming A-Listers.

Of course, replace heroes with villains for those who play villains

Eh, I don't see this as bad.

Sean Connery. Harrison Ford. These are two actors that people love that pretty much play themselves. So Ryan Reynolds being Ryan Reynolds may not be such a bad thing.

Watching the trailer, it looks like he goes through some rough spots...like him learning to fly isn't him getting the ring and then POOF he can fly perfectly. Whether that's good or bad, I guess that's up to individual.

Didn't really have a problem with the mask, as it looked like a typical Green Latern mask.

I won't judge on the colors of the outfit to much. For one it didn't look that bad to me. But I also know, it's harder to get the colors to look good in the movies than it is in the comics.
  24. Agreed.

Realism often means cynasism (sp?) and a lot of time, people and their realism ruins the fun of the property.

Not just in writing, but also in art for comics. How I've hated it when superhero comics will put in an artist who's art style is realistic. :/ Laaaame.
