WW, sounds like you need to get in on no stress MO runs...where it's just set to MO, but play normally, and if someone dies, oh well.
I never got stressed on MO runs, never understood why anyone did.

Quote:Not according to superhero comics. Superspeedsters have no problem hitting, but have a hard time being hit.And you want those debuffs for the person using Superspeed as well, correct? After all, someone running around that fast would have a much harder time aiming and ensuring a shot hit...
No?
That said, I don't see this suggestion happening. If you want it, my suggestion is to build for positional defenses. -
Quote:Still trying to get that 35% across the boards on a regen while maintaining a awesome DPS. So far no luck, but I'm trying!I am still not convinced you need that magic number 45 on a Regen. 35+, get IH to 50% up-time and it should be good. A lot easier to get there with Katana or BS but should be attainable on others I think. Assuming of course that you did not gimp on other powers (Recon, DP, MoG, SM and your attacks).
I'm probably just not seeing it yet. I'm sure (ie Hoping) it's possible.

Quote:Well, I'm just thinking...with WP, I can go with any Primary, same with INV. Yeah, Dark Melee offers even more, but one doesn't feel limited to those.I don't think that's specific to Regeneration. If you want top end survivability in a secondary that doesn't include defense, then you need to add a whole lot of defense. For quite a few secondaries, that means you need Katana or Broad Sword for top end survivability.
Similarly, Super Reflexes, Shield Defense and Invulnerability want healing, and that's what Dark Melee offers, so I think Dark Melee tends to be the best choice to combine with those. Still, at least with the defensive secondaries can pick up Aid Self instead, giving you more flexibility when building your top end survivability Scrapper. -
Quote:I'd say the dissappointing part of this, is you seemed forced to go Katana (maybe Broadsword) to say Regen is competitive. :/I figured that Katana/Regen could be very competitive IF we could hit some goals:
- Normal soft cap with one Divine Avalanche and the 5% tail end of T4 Barrier
- Perma Hasten
- Perma Dull Pain
- Slotted Tough
- Shadow Meld
- Able to run top DPS chain during the rather frequent periods of high defense boost (Golden Dragonfly should recharge in 3.43 seconds or less)
I've failed to achieve all the goals, but it's not too far off, missing the soft cap by 4.2%, 4.8% and 1.7%, and missing perma Hasten by maybe 7 seconds. I threw it together pretty fast, so I'm sure there are still some improvements to be made. If we're going to miss the soft cap, I'd say we don't want to miss it by more than 2.5%, so that at least we're soft capped from Barrier for one minute out of two, and not too far off the rest of the time.
There are some inefficiencies in the build. It has more hit point bonuses than it needs since it has more than perma Dull Pain. It's not that they're bad, but they're fairly wasteful. They just showed up as a side effect of the sets I was slotting for other reasons. Still, maybe they can be traded in some way for things we need more.
Anyway, here it is. Can we fix it? -
/unsigned
Keep them the way they are! It's old content that way, and guess what, Ive seen team members faceplant on ITF, even with all having incarnate abilities. -
Quote:What exactly is the plot inconsistencies? Sutter happens while Apex is happening.I roleplayed through it with the Militia the other night and although it's a fun TF, the plot inconsistencies are becoming hard to work around. These days, it's easier to run our own plots than to patch up the slap dash way the Devs are treating the plot. And that makes me sad.

Or is the plot inconsistencies in the fact, that your character wouldn't beable to be in two places at once? -
-
Wait...wait...Fire Armor is considered an underperformer now? o.O
-
Quote:This is what I got from it as well.Codswallop. The dialog in the Sutter TF makes it clear that the action is part of the invasion portrayed in the Apex TF.
Could easily be explained as quite simply, Cole couldn't make EVERYTHING so powerful, so he sent in the Powerful with the not so powerful backup/additional destruction against the heroes of Primal -
Quote:I'd say a lot of people already considered Ledger a good actor. He had? >.>
But other than that, I agree. I mean you've got guys like Christian Bale, Michael Cane, and Gary Oldman as your core cast. It's practically impossible to have a poorly acted film after that.
I think what got to people, was they didn't think Ledger could pull off such a different role (which was different than anything I can recall him doing), and well, let's face it, he was never going to be people's first choice for the role.

Quote:No way should she 86 the story. It's fanfiction! Nothing wrong with writing fanfiction. So, you're saying that Samuraiko SHOULD 86 her story?
I'm not saying you're wrong about accuracy. Only that a fanfic involving a signature character is unavoidably inaccurate. You can hand-wave almost anything if you really, really, really want to do it. The question is not whether you should or should not. The question is whether you should let the hand-waving take over the plot and undermine the story as a result.
To take the Galaxy Girl story I mentioned as an example - I finally concluded that the best way to handle the conflict that Sean's news created was to decide that the REASON Robbie's crush went unrequited was that Kelly's feelings for him were maternal and not romantic. Hand's waved. Problem solved. Get on with the story.
It wasn't canon to begin with. Did it have anyone who actually saw it as canon or just a fun story? -
Quote:If built for +Defense, and packing 2 - 3 +End Procs, those minus recovery hits that do get through arent so bad.I always found that SoW is best used when you need added recovery for a battle. For example the only thing that really bothers my wp/ss tank on the lgtf is Famine's -recovery and subsequent toggle drop. In siutations like that you are left a lot less vulnerable. Then you just watch for the end crash after the fight is well over.

Or you could just...
Make a bind that says [OOC Chat]
or
Just use the (( at the beginning and not at the end of the chat.
or
just type in the (( brackets without a bind.

I've seen people who've leveled up to at least level 35 in Praetoria.
I don't know how long the repeatable mission contacts last in praetoria, but the story arcs pretty much end at level 20.
So to get to 35, would mean lots of exemping and possibly the repeatable missions, if you want to stay in Praetoria.
Hero side is going to have the most people, but you could always go Rogue/Vigilante to play on both sides. -
Quote:She's my DB/WP's bane as well. Always so close to dieing (havent yet), but haven't been able to take her down yet! Grrrrr...I'm gonna say WP as well. The flexibility in what AVs and large mobs you can handle is fantastic. Regen on top of defense on top of resist(nothing too great here, but still better than nothing) on top of high hit points is stupid survivable. Add in IO sets and there aren't many AVs you couldn't take solo.
Though I don't know if I'll ever be able to beat Silver Mantis. I hate her with a passion.
Havent even tried yet with Interface though. -
Quote:That's part of the reason I keep fiddling with Regen. WP's lack of a clickie (outside of the tier 9) can make the set boring. :/After reading (and rereading) this thread and giving some thought and input from my experiences thus far with regen, I'm actually considering rerolling into /WP because of all the votes. I do like regen but I have found myself face first more than I like. Regen doesn't react well in a pinch. Plus I've never rolled a /WP toon so there could be potential gains. To formulate a question:
Coming from a lvl 22 Regen, and liking the set, will I be further impressed if I reroll into a /WP? Or does Regen really pick up soon?
I was thinking I'd like Regen better because I think all the clicky heals kind of keep you on your toes but then I remembered my Invuln tank and how nice "set it and forget it is" and how much it keeps your head in the fight and off the green bar. -
Quote:Well on my DB/WP, for concept reasons and LGTF, I took the Blast and Hold.Trying to nail some stuff on the upper end of my db/will scrapper. The 2 powers I'm unsure of are the last 2 in the set, the rez, and tier 9. SoW seems kinda weak for a tier 9, but from what i can read, there's no health crash, just an end crash. Does this drop your toggles?
Also debating the value of a self rez, I do die now and then, but seems like a bit of a waste of power selection, the thing is, I'm not sure what else i might take. I have tough/weave and combat jumping, will probably add manuevers, unsure of whether there's anything else in pools that's worth a look. Medicine for an on demand heal?
Epic pools don't seem that great. Best one i could see was soul mastery patron pool for a blast and shadowmeld perhaps.
Interested in recommendations,
thanks.
The Blast and Hold I also use when enemies decide "Hey! Look at me! 100% Resistance to Lethal!"
That said, I find I get more benefit with just grabbing Physical Perfection.
I would never skip SoW myself. The Rez is purely up to the player. If I could fit it into my build, I'd take it, but I wanted Confront for STF. -
Quote:Fixed! Because I was disappointed you didn't link to the song, just so I could instantly listen to it!rapper chammillionaire also loved when al did "white and nerdy" and put it up on his site. I'd think any musician that grew up with weird al would appreciate what him parodying you means. "the key of awesome" also has done some clever gaga parodies.

Quote:Nope. When I think DPS, I think single target.Does anyone else find it sad that almost nowhere in this thread is a blaster brought forth as being the best DPS (except for I think Combat's post). I mean since that's pretty much all they have to offer.
Admittedly the thread's not terribly big yet, but it's kind of sad that when someone asks for best DPS the first thought isn't, "Ohhh a blaster."
When I think DPS, I find it sad my first thought isnt "Oh! Stalker!"
Blasters to me are the AOERS OF DOOOOOM! Who should have some really nice DPS. -
Quote:And yet when people want new ATs that fit in with very common comic book staples, they all say "/unsigned"It would ruin the game for two reasons. Less re-playability, as something completely different than prior characters. And the powersets would all be weaker with about the same effects in a different wrapper.
What they need to do is make a bunch of new powersets and add a few new AT's.
Archery still needs an Arrow Manipulation Secondary which could be the same as Trick Arrow, minus the debuffs with an, Imbued Arrow power replacing Build-Up and, of course, Boost Range!
Energy Weapons (Ionic, Cosmic, Mythic) is a common, but missing, comic book powerset that could be a new Melee Set with some ranged attacks.
CoH is far from complete and is begging for some obvious new powersets and even AT's. Then they could take all that into CoH2 at a later date.
Ranged/Defense...so common it's not funny

But wow. I didn't know this! I never really had reason to think Jack was so bad untill reading this just now. -
Well, one could say Optimal is really close to Optimal Optimus. >_>
