Quote:There's a few prisons in the US that already do that!I don't want fit prisoners. Screw the hard labor. That only means that they'll be in shape to commit more crimes when they are released.
I want fat flabby out of shape prisoners that can't walk 5 steps before they need to catch their breath. They won't be in any shape to break the law when they finally get released. -

I'm only anxious for i21 over i20.5 because I'm REALLY hoping to hear Ninjitsu will be ported to Scrappers. *crossesfingers*

Quote:Hopefully this writing down of Ice Armor for Scrappers means, Power Proliferation in i21, with Ninjitsu being ported and Ice Armor being the set to go with on a later proliferationDidn't they say on the stream that it was redeemed by voucher? Sorry, I was more focused on Ice Armor for Scrappers I didn't really keep track of the rest of the stuff.

Quote:Gargamel wanting to capture them and eat them...check!Don't tell me what I do and do not remember!
I'm well aware that Smurfs was not great TV. I would hate it now. But my 5 year old self loved it, and that's what Hollywood is murdering.
Likely hiding from all but a few select humans...check!
What exactly are they murdering? -
You obviously don't remember the smurfs to well, if this is what murders your childhood memories of them.
I lvoe the smurfs, but it really wasn't this great television. And it's not like it's the first time they've gone into the city.
If anything, the part that they should of kept away from was Gargamel looking like Gargamel.
Put them into mordern times, and not have Gargamel look like he's back in the dark ages. -
Quote:You say this, but it's working on getting some players I know, actually playing the game.Oh, I don't deny there's good stuff, the thing is, City of faces the parable "The closer to the light one gets, the greater one's shadow becomes" in this case, you replace 'light' with 'perfection' and 'shadow' with 'failures'.
The Devs have given us a good game, almost too good in some cases because every time they live up well to their standards (new auras, new lore pets, etc. etc.), they make one terrible failure that seems to blind out everything else, in this case, locking costume and regular emotes, as well as costume pieces, behind Incarnate content with a strict level requirement as well in a manner similar to another MMO's Epic Gear.
This is from a game where character customization is one of strongest selling points, that you can jump into any costume contest with a decent chance to win or make your character how you want them to look without having ground yourself through trial after trial and to the highest levels. But now, you apparently do.
They're liking the quick Trials, and they see the rewards and think that makes the Trials even more worth doing. -
Quote:They're available to only level 50's, but how many level 50's will actually be wearing all the pieces? At first I didn't mind about the costumes being lvl 50 only...but I wholeheartedly agree with this statement. A 'level 50 uniform' is tacky and dumb. If (nearly) every 50 is going to be wearing it, I really don't think I'd want to jump on that silly bandwagon >_>
But lvls 1-49? Yeah, I'll be (mostly) solo. I'll get to enjoy my costume by myself in solitude. -
Quote:Well, some of the new Lore Pets are generic enough people may beable to fit them into their concepts. Could be worth it for you if you care about your concept. There's a lot of nice stuff, but little that I think is going to make a big difference to me. Notably:
New Lore pets: Indifferent. I already have Lore pets on all the characters I'm bothering to grind out, and don't see much reason to re-do 'em all from scratch. If we get some sort of Incarnate Respec, that would psyche me up a lot more for them, but otherwise, eh.
Account-wide unlocks: Again, neat, but probably not something I'll use, since the costume set doesn't unlock until 50 (still the same problem, for example as Roman stuff), but if the Emblems and Auras are cheap enough, they might be nice.
Thread vouchers: If it's just threads, then "eh". If it's all Incarnate salvage, this will actually be huge.
Buffs: Cool, but I hope they don't get a big increase in cost. Personally, I'll take single buffing to turning all shield powers into Recovery Aura-style clicks with huge Recharge and End costs.
But, I don't get the impression that the buffs will have an increased RCH/END cost. If it is indeed a QoL adjustment, I suspect instead we'll see people going around to popular hangout spots and AOEing the people, then watching them run off. -
Quote:There's lots of things that could be done, but the problem is that the devs created the tier 4 powers specifically to be long term targets to reach for. That's why their costs are set *massively* higher than the tier 3 powers, but have only very small extra benefits in most cases (ironically, Lore has the best jump from tier 3 to tier 4, a power many people skip).
Some things in this game are specifically meant to be chased, and the chase is meant to take a long time. Tier 4 incarnate powers are explicitly designed to be pursuit targets. Players that do not enjoy long term pursuits are actually supposed to stop at tier 3.
Put it this way: if tier 4 was easily accessible, the devs would add a tier 5 that wasn't. Get that reduced to being easily accessible, and they would add a tier 6. The last tier is always going to be the one many people can't get without a ton of work, because in the end game system there is always going to be some fraction of it specifically intended for the players that want to pursue a long term reward and are fast at it. By making it have only a relatively small incremental benefit, they make it an unnecessary pursuit for those that don't want to pursue it.
And I agree with it!
Want to get them quick, one can always run many an itrial to get the needed components. -
Quote:Mids doesn't include the criticals on Stalker attacks? The DoT is an extra scale 1 (ie, 55.61) damage - if you want the DPS numbers you can just add in the scale for the followup (1.7 for SS, 1.32 for AbS) to the scale from earlier, factor in the time in the denominator (1.452 and 1.188 respectively) and then multiply things out for the total damage if you don't like scales.
SS: scale 6.3401 / 6.684 sec = 0.92367 ds/sec * 55.61 (dam/ds) * 1.95 (slotting) * 1.1 (critical) = 110.2 dps
AS: scale 5.9601 / 6.6 sec = 0.90305 ds/sec * 55.61 (dam/ds) * 1.95 (slotting) * 1.1 (critical) = 107.7 dps
For just the Attack Vitals portion with slotting, at 95% damage slotting the Attack Vitals combo by itself would be 92.976. Since those numbers don't include criticals you have to account for them as well, and at a 10% critical rate the dps would go up to roughly 102.27.
For how much the DoT adds, just knock 1 DS off of what I had earlier to get scale 3.6401 in 5.412 sec, which is scale 0.6726/sec * 55.61 to get damage makes it 37.403 base, 72.936 slotted, and 80.23 slotted with criticals. With all of those it does 102.27 dps, so the DoT adds 22.04 DPS to that specific part of the chain (note that it's not to the whole chain itself, just the combo portion).
Though if I'm reading what you're saying correctly, Attack Vitals + Sweeping Strike equals more than 114 DPS or just under it? -
Well, what I picture for it, could be played at range. Would I play it at range though? Nope.

Quote:Who said anything about it being a Melee AT?Fire Blast on Defenders, the Mutant MM suggestion I saw a long time ago, Dark Controllers... ummm, Additional proliferation. That would pretty much satisfy me, I think.
Maybe I just don't understand something... but what would be in a sorcery set that can't be done with re-colored powers from pretty much ANY other AT? Isn't the whole point of Sorcery your ability to magically do things? I believe that is why the Magic Origin exists. Like I said, perhaps I am missing something... but all we need is a "Magic/Runes" customization option for some sets, and POW: Sorcery!
I don't mean to be too much of a naysayer... but why should Melee ATs get access to a Ranged set?
I dodn't say I wanted Dual Pistols Scrappers/Tankers/Brutes/Stalkers.
What I did saiy was I wanted Dual Pistols/Defense.
It could be a whole different AT and thusly not a melee AT at all.
Nothing says Melee AT has to have Defense Sets. Look at Blappers. Nothing says Ranged Characters can't have Defense Sets. Look at Fortunatas and Crab Soldiers.
What I've wanted sense the first time I picked up CoH in the store was what in this game would be akin to Dual Pistol/Ninjitsu (with a few less toys and a bit more healing ability). -
Or not because you know, her origin is magical, and all that intense Amazon physical and combat training didn't do as much as you think it would, to her magically created body.
-
Eh, I go both ways.

Really, I enjoy the trials and I enjoy the TFs. -
I would love the mismatched assessories!
I want this!
I need this!
Okay I just REALLY WANT IT! -
Quote:Personally, I thought the artists who drew Wonder Woman to look like she was all muscle were drawing the worst WW ever.It always amazes me how many people seem to forget that Lynda Carter (who played the role on TV for years) was hardly the "athletic" type either. The people who want a Wonder Woman who looks like she could -actually- handle herself in a real world fight will likely always be disappointed.
Let's face it: if another live action Wonder Woman ever gets made the actress playing her is far more likely going to look like Lynda or Adrianne than not. And why not really - the character's power comes from being associated with the magic of the gods. She doesn't need to look "big and beefy" to be believable. Look at Supergirl. Without her powers she's just a wisp of a girl who'd probably "fall down and cry" if she were punched in the face too. Same deal with Wonder Woman.
If you didn't like Adrianne for the role that's fine. But please don't fool yourself into thinking the next one is going to be much different from her. *shrugs*
And the actresses who would fit the bill some people seem to be asking for, can't act! -
Quote:I have to wonder why you don't get WP softcapped to S/L as well.Which of these is the most survivable (in general gameplay)
Electric Armor with perma-Energize, S/L softcap
Willpower with F/C/E/N softcap
Invuln with perma-Dull Pain, S/L softcap
and why?
Thanks in advance
As for tougher...hmmm...tough call...
Against Cims, Id give it to Invun
Against Rularuu, I'd give it to WP
Against Rikti, I'd give it to ELA
Though mind you, WP and INV (though not as well as WP and ELA) will do just fine against Rikti, so that last part is kinda meh.
ELA is likely going to feel the weakest of the three BUT it's likely to feel like the funnest to play of the three.
WP has no clickies, so you're just hitting attacks, not counting the Tier 9 which I wouldnt skip personally.
INV has a clickie, but it's a long recharge clickie (Dull Pain), and again not counting the Tier 9, but Id likely skip it myself.
ELA has a few clickies that you will click often enough...a Energize and Power Sink! Plus you get a damage aura! -

Quote:Well, I like to bring people into an AE mission and farm it for them (Im just there for tickets) and before I was soloing it at 4/8 on my DB/WP Scrapper. Now......let's rephrase the question then.
How have your Incarnate Powers changed YOU?
...I'm soloing it even FASTER on my DB/WP
My difficulty setting for solo play was usually 4/8, except for tips which was generally -1/1 (to solo them faster), TFs varied from +0 - +4 depending on the team. I love Posi 1, but I wouldn't want to do it at +4 for instance. ITF will depend on the team, but it's generally +2 - +4 (sometimes I go down to +1, but never 0 anymore). -
Quote:I only have a problem with this when it comes to characters they know they shouldn't kill off, or don't come back because of their abilities.This. It's one of the biggest points of contention I have with the majority of 'cape' comics, where events will be made out of a character's death only to have them come back months later. It cheapens any emotional response given to said death, especially when a character has died two, three, a dozen times only to mysteriously "get better."
Of course there's the reasoning that killing off these characters for good means that they can no longer be profited from, which is why everyone from icons to sidekicks to random mooks get brought back. They're killed, resulting in a spike in sales, they're left alone for awhile...then they get brought back, which brings in more sales. It's understandable from this point. From a storytelling point, it's a gigantic joke. Any time a character dies and is brought back through whatever means, be it magic, time travel, the favor of a cosmic being, etc., more often than not it prevents the story from going anywhere meaningful. There's simply no consequence. If you were a hero in one of these universes, you wouldn't even mourn the loss of fallen comrades, because in three months they'd be hanging around again.
Spider-Man...this is just something you don't do. Spider-Man just doesn't have the powers to not stay dead (or at least not hype it up as a Death of type of thing).
Phoenix on the other hand is a different story. She's the Phoenix! That's all about dying and coming back. -
Quote:Without Incarnate abilities, BF > Attack Vitals Combo > Repeat is putting my DB/WP between 180-190 DPS.One thing to consider is that while dropping VS could possibly increase your single target damage slightly, there's just no way that anything other than the top chain is going to outdamage BF -> AV versus all targets in the cone. So to more directly answer your question I don't actually know how much the AV bonus contributes, other than "a lot" which I can only report anecdotally.
Admittedly, that's with a few expensive IOs in the mix, but I don't think BF > NS > AS > SS gets to that level of DPS.
The attack chain would be faster, but I think the AVC DoT makes up for it quite a bit. -

However, I've been wanting to keep with the positional defenses. Not because one type is better than the other, but more of a concept/theme thing.
Positional Defense equals dodging While Typed Defense equals deflecting. Hitting the 30% Mark equals /SR on the SO level of things and I want the Agile + Regen feel (at the very least, in my head).
If I go with typed defenses, I'm sure I could pull off higher levels of defense to at least S/L. And it's been proven to be an effective way to go, but it just doesn't have that right feel to the concept. -
