Quote:Make a better buildNot when my survivability is proportional to how many mobs are in proximity. Knockback is really bad for invul and wp, which is why it needs to be knockdown or not used at all in a team setting.Too few players actually know how to use it correctly.

No seriously. On my /WP I've really never had this problem you talk about. 1 or 10, I'm surviving! -
Quote:I just thought it was a way to get the aggro, while not forcing it on those who don't want it.Yes, they could. I certainly don't have room for it in my build but I could self-nerf in order to get a power to make up for that which exists in the other SR config.
Personally, if it was added, I'd live with it, when I pull out my DB/SR, I'm just thinking of the many others.
I don't see how it's a self nerf however. -
I always considered Dual Blades with the Red Cap Daggers, which I use on every costume of my main, except for one NEW costume that uses the Organic Blades, to be knife melee.

Quote:Couldn't those /SR Scrappers who want an Aggro aura, take Provoke?I'm sure there are players who would rather not have an aggro aura - much like there are players who prefer to skip their toggles, arguing they perform better with the extra endurance. People make all kinds of poor decisions based on an incorrect understanding of the game environment, it's important not to confuse beliefs with facts.
Quoting something only to purposefully and blatantly misinterpret it as to attempt to derail the argument isn't worth answering with any more effort than a copypaste of the previously made point. -
Quote:Well, as pointed out in another thread, when paired with /NIN, an ELM/ can do the following...Is the new /EA at all competitive with /nin? I was thinking of making a new stalker with electric melee as primary and was originally looking at /nin, but some of these new changes to /ea look really yummy....
BU - Caltrops - Lightning Rod - Assassin Strike -
Quote:If they plan to give Stalkers an Ice Mastery with Ice Patch in it, I wouldn't mind losing Ice Patch in the melee set.I think ISC would make more sense and it would add more AOE to the set...
Take out Taunt and make it hide. Take out GIS and make is ISC. Make Freezing Touch AS or Change the power to Something like the normal AS but more...Ice like...A giant Icicle or maybe an Ice Stalagmite jutting from the ground.
1.Ice Sword (or Frozen Fists)
2.Frost
3.Ice Slash
4.Assassin's Spike
5.Build Up
6.Placate
7.Ice Patch(Freezing Touch)
8.Ice Sword Circle
9.Frozen Aura
This set may be nothing but a pipe dream though...with that Much AOE...
Ice Patch is the only power that bothers me...it doesn't seem stalker-ish. I can't say much though look at ninjitsu and EA
However, without that, I wouldn't want to lose Ice Patch in the melee. An Ice Slick is needed on any Ice/Ice/Ice toon, for any AT. -

Quote:Your stalkers hit and run? o.OIm not sure putting Invulnerability on a Stalker is a good idea, or Stone Armour.
For one thing, Stalkers do insane amounts of damage as is in a burst, put invulnerability on them, and you get the potential to have a vicious little one-shotting teambuster. One of the game play factors of a Stalker is hit and run tactics. Invulnerability would mean pretty much, running isn't required, and also, stone armour? Not much running going to be going on there. LMAO
My Stalkers hit and then stayed.
And none of them are obviously INV. -
Quote:I know one way to do it.So, what do you suggest they change Conserve Power to?
Remember, for this proliferation, they have to drop Conserve Power, because it's available in scrapper APPs.
Make the changes for Scrappers, leave it as is for Stalkers/Brutes.
I admit, I never thought EA was bad as is. That said, I like seeing the changes. Could compare Energize vs ED (as it is now) vs one target. Energize would win. -
Quote:I'm not against it.45% defense doesn't cut it for me, and even if it did, the minmaxer on my shoulder wouldn't want to skip 6% def. That's a significant amount of slots that could be used for other things.
Plus, there's really no reason Energy Cloak shouldn't have a no/low FX option, like Cloak of Darkness does. My guess is so few people played/play EA and even fewer care about that specific thing, they didn't get enough complaints about it. The logical step is for me to whine twice as loud!
I just wouldn't let it stop me from playing the set. Didnt let it stop me on my /DA. /EA will be no different. -
Quote:So, what I'm seeing is, this really proves Brutes are more survivable and Scrappers are more damageYup. Shows how little I've been looking at spreadsheets this past year.
Should be base * (1+buffs) Here's the corrections:
Base Damage on KO Blow for a scrapper:
3.56*62.562 = 222.721
With 95% enhancement and double stacked rage = base*(1+2.95) = 879.74795
A crit takes it to 1759.4959
FE will then add another 703.79836 fire damage
Total damage output = 2463.29426
EDIT:
For comparison's sake, here's the brute with 75% fury.
3.56*41.708 = 148.48048
Fury+enhs+ds rage: base*(1+4.05) = 749.826424
With FE: 1049.7569936
Good thing crits are random, right?

Quote:Or people can stop being bitchy. In hindsight they never should have grouped set proliferations into single releases together, because that leads to situations exactly like this where if/when one AT doesn't have a set proliferated people get bitchy.
They should have proliferated sets piecemeal (one or two set ported to ArchetypeA in one patch, then one set for ArchetypeB and a set for ArchetypeC next patch, etc. etc.). I suppose that would have been problematic to fit into their internal schedule though.
And who just plays Dom's and not the other ATs? I'm sure there's some player out there like that, but doubtful it's even more than 1% of the player base.

Quote:Well with my Dual Pistol users, I tend to just go Corr because I like to get the blasts ASAP!Benchpresser,
Just out of curiosity, why switch? Do you like the Defender numbers that much? Or is it a concept thing? Just wondering, since all the proliferation stuff is making me wonder whether I should make and/or remake some characters as Corruptors or Defenders. I favor Defenders conceptually for some reason, but not entirely sure why.
So I'm just wondering your thoughts on it. Or anyone else's. I am truly stumped.
Lewis
Cold/DP Defender is the exception because it allows me to skip Infrigidate. I'm grabbing all the DP powers except for one later one anyways. And Cold/ for Defenders gives better defense numbers.
Now with Cold/Fire, tier 1 and 2 arent to different to worry about, and again, I get to skip Infrigidate.
When I decide it's usually based on if the blasts are important to me. Do I want to skip a tier 1 ability on the Secondary, but not on the Primary and vice versa.
Then it's a numbers game. -

/cc 5 used to work for me, but it was the same as the costume slot in /cc 1, and it could never be changed.
Did they fix that? -
Quote:Well, they did call Earth Assault Proliferation with just what, 1 new animation? So I guess that works.Well, Dark Manipulation Support is getting Dark cobbled together from existing Dark sets, so, the devs see it as such.
Basically, if they don't have to come up with new animations but can scrounge them from elsewhere, it's a proliferation. Once they get the animators involved, it's "new".
Still, I don't think I'd call them proliferations just yet. But maybe that's because I hope to see new animations with those sets.

Awwww...that totally takes the fun out of using RotP!

Quote:Momentum! The more you attack, the faster you attack!do we have ANY idea what this set is going to be able to do that makes it significantly distinct from Broadsword? Hopefully at the Very least some Two Handed animations.
Presumably Titan Weapons and Shield Defense will be mutually exclusive.
I think we're all hoping for awesome animations. -
-
I don't know if I'd call Dominator and Blaster Secondaries port. But rather new sets.
That said, obviously Devs hate melee

Quote:Overkill is underrated.I will be going with DM, yes it is easy to get to the soft cap, but there is no such thing as overkill here.

That aside. Just seems to me, one is free to pick any Epic Pool that fits the concept with the changes to EA. Or one can go with min/max in mind, and I would think there's better pool for that.

Quote:At level 50, run through tips at -1/1. You can clear them in less than an hour. And are you saying it's not worth a player working towards it?You really consider 5 tips a day every day for 60 days, plus or minus the amount of Reward Merits you convert, to be easy?
Or playing the 2-3 hours a day needed to run all 3 trials every day for almost a month?
Man, people occasionally try to tell me I'm out of touch with average players. Nice to know I'm not.
You saying if they can't buy it now on the market, it's not worht getting? Or can't fire farm it in AE and hope for AE tickets?
Looking at my SG, I'd say having the ability to play 3 hours a day is pretty common. Seeing chat go by of the same people in global chats for over 3 hours a day.
My view on the average player is that yes, they can make 3 hours a day.

Quote:I agree with Sam on this one. A lot of those weapon skins we have now. Silly.I remember the days when the devs didn't want to add things that looked "silly" to the game.
I like the idea behind the mechanics of the set, but the weapons look like bad anime weapons.
Huge swords are in way silly compared to superheroes who go around with a wrench, a shovel, a manhole cover, or look...hey I'm beating the hell out of a heavily armored tank with a baseball bat. -
Quote:I'll give you the power order. I won't give the taunt aura. That's kinda what we do around here.
Here's what will tick me off to no end:
The devs choose to make changes to SR for tanks and don't push those changes back to Scrapper/Brute SR.
It's bad enough that brute SR got the power order change and the taunt aura on evasion without those changes being backtracked to scrapper SR.
Any further such shenanigans will probably cause me to get banned from the forums for good. Course... they might like that.
There's people who picked SR due to it not having a taunt aura. A taunt aura is a major game changer for any Scrapper who has had a SR this long and really don't want it.
Yes, it would be a game changer you want. But still, it's a negative for all those who wanted a scrapper without an aggro aura.
If they did change power orders for SR though, I think some Brutes/Stalkers might want Energize earlier.
