Ok, you've encountered run-of-the-mill Hero status bosses. Yes, some enemies marked as Hero are actually Bosses. S/L means smashing/lethal. Oh, and I meant BABs as a full fledged Hero.

Another reason to have people beat on my Masterminds mercilessly...

The ample speed at which you can level to 14 now I think such a thing is unnecessary. Although the ability to get the travel power itself would be nice over having to select unnecessary things for your character at times.
-
Which CoH have you been playing?
With the ability to turn the difficulty into friggin' -1 to your level soloing has NEVER been easier. Issue 16 will bring faster lower leveling, violent art, and a new teaming system.
And why the heck are you complaining about not being able to run the AE in issue 16? -

Quote:And it should be directed by George Lucas.I forsee a cast list as follows
Statesman= Tom Cruise. Because we need more "I LOVE KATIE HOLMES!"
Manticore= Hayden Christiansen. More soul-less acting is required.
Sister Psyche= Natalie Portman. Why? because somebody will think it's a good idea.
Back Alley Brawler= Michael Clark Duncan. Actually, I could see this one.
Synapse= ah who knows. some new comedian I expect.
on the other side of the fence
Lord Recluse= Ahnold. In his triumphant return to film
Ghost Widow= Kate Beckinsale. ok, I could see this one too
Mako= Whoever they turned down for Synapse.
No, I'm not serious here. Sadly, someone in Hollywood is already thinking along these lines. -
Now I want to play Gmod, bah.
Haven't smacked people in RP servers with a crowbar in quite some time...
Excuse me while I sprint around with a crowbar. -
Now THIS should be interesting. Will Tom Cruise be playing Statesman? Hopefully it will be an animated movie, or something more along the lines of Hancock in terms of human actors playing super-powered beings.
-
Nope. Although I most likely will try Dual Pistols for the heck of it.
-
Ok, ok, ok, you most likely "may" be able to solo any AVs without a good amount of S/L resistance, healing components, or tier 9s that do not crash (I'm looking at you, Statesman). Still, you will be hard pressed to do it without getting slightly bored or frustrated, but ehy, that's what the AV soloing game is all about. I could see you talking down AVs with 20% S/L, but otherwise I am doubtful Mercs/FF will be able to take down any decent AVs/Heroes (and if you think heroes are easier then go fight BABs).
My advice? Start out soloing someone like Indigo. She's relatively easy enough to defeat. -
It won't happen. You're FF and have nothing in the line of Regen debuffing or Resistance cutting (Achillies aside). Factor in Merc damage and you've got yourself an impossible fight.
Seriously, Merc/FF will not be soloing (temps aside) any AVs. -

Quote:I'm pretty sure the game would be much more expansive than it is now. Trust me, Rick had his own vision for the game and I'm pretty sure he was leading up to something big with the Peregrine Island arcs. PvP might have been a nightmare, but then again Rick may have never introduced it or wanted it. I believe Rick was more a guy who wanted players to experience the fun of the game and the story involved with it. I bet he wasn't so obssessed with fixing powers, balancing things out, and making sure every little detail was kept in line so long as people were just having fun with a game they loved. As someone who actually had a great deal of respect for Jack back in the day, I can tell you I'm starting to attribute less and less of the game's overall success and merit on him and more and more on Rick Dakan's original vision and the blood, sweat and tears of the rest of the team. Jack had very specific, unyielding ideas about what the game should be and, looking back on it, kept acting like the game was always broken and he always had to fix it. I think the fact that his recent sour grapes attitude and the result of that labour do nothing but confirm that belief.
I love this game, and I cannot deny Jack had a hand in it, but I can't help but wonder what would have happened if Rick Dakan had remained in charge.
And to answer the thread question: An Evil Genius. There, I said it. I think the man is an evil genius because I have a theory. I believe Jack is merely using CO as a marketting device to jump start Star Trek Online. C'mon, Closed Beta access in both of the subscription plans? Sounds like a TRAP!
But nah, Jack was a dude who felt the game needed to be checked, balanced, re-balanced, re-re-balanced, and then checked again. He wanted people to experience a sometimes overwhelming challenge, and then feel the rush of overcoming that hill (as other people have stated in this thred). -
Closed Beta access in BOTH of CO's subscription deals? Sounds fishy to me. Honestly I don't think enough time and effort was put into Co to make it what it "might" have been even in Open Beta. Going live with this current version seems very silly to me, but if he pulls a fast one and CO bombs according to some plan he has, then I'm sure some people will be PO'd.
Although it sounds a lot like Star Trek Online is going to be way more expansive, have way more time and effort poured into it, and have a LOT more attention from Jack Emmert himself. -
Make it 3 peeps and you've got yourself a contestant.

You actually listen to PvP chatter?

6 month sub + CO box
The CO Box is around 60$
Discounted 6-month sub is around 70$.
I won't be getting it in the limited time discount period, so I'm guessing an upwards of 150$ beyond that.
Yes, you still need to actually buy the game even if you did beta test. -
Quote:/summons ShivanI have on my blaster it's rather easy first you summon a shivian right in the middle of the MM and his/her pets then do any aoe KB you got, me I use bonfire then hammer the MM while the shivian distracts pets. So if you consider temps solo it's not that hard.
