  1. I am speed leveling a new character I am trying. I am grabbing all the banks as I go. So I am running my 5 radio missions on Talos last night. I enter the third one. (I am solo, trying to be quick) and right after me comes a couple mobs. I was thinking I had caught an ambush and was getting ready to hit powers/insp/defcon4 when I noticed it was another player. And after them comes another! And they are 50+1s (I was 26)

Me "What are you doing here?"

    Them "What?"

Me " I don't mean to be rude, but this is my 26th radio mission. What are you doing here?"

Them. Long pause (obviously in teamspeak) "Abandon"

I went on and ran it fine after they left. Big layer cake cave room for the boss, least they could have done was go in and judgement the crap outta it for me. Sheesh, peeps these days.
  2. I am seriously considering making this build. I can only imagine how well this strategy would work with the lag in ITF valley.
  3. Woke early today and was finishing the last mission and errand on the Midnighter. In help I hear someone railing against Tanks. I point out they can be useful, although they are a specific tool for a specific job. He/She says they are useless. I point out that they are very desirable for certain Master TFs and have a good place in regular teams as well. He/She says they are useless, using different words. I point out that they are very good for fast rolling teams hitting the spawn/taking the alpha/moving on. He/She says his (dom or troll, cant remember) can do that better, tanks are useless. I retort "I dub theee Troll..." and that was part of my morning in the city lol.
  4. I would go for a slightly more subtle shift then. Keep the softcap on my build S/L. Shift one enhancer slot from Power Sink to Energize. Put two I/O recharge enhancers in Energize and level shift them to reach rech cap. Power sink loses slightly, but the build is not crying for Blue like a dark armor or something.
  5. For me this whole thread boils down to one quote "I'm not a Brewster at all! I'm the son of a sea cook!!"
  6. Here is my swing at this. Please look for what i missed. Thanks.

    Scrapper Snipe

Soloing on my Energy/Energy Blaster I love Snipe. Having said you should know that I suck at Blasting. The other use is on a Dom to stealth charge Dom after a wipe, in a tight spot. The Snipe counts as an attack, charges the Dom, interrupt it w/o firing, repeat. Takes a while, but gets your Dom back up, and if you're Perma can be worth it. So, yeah, nvm lol.
  9. I am looking at I/Oing Electric Armor for a pretty Tanky feel. I could go the standard S/L/En/...etc or I could go for positional. Since Electric has no defense itself there is no inherent leaning one way or the other. Or is there? Starting from a blank slate with a Melee Prim/Res Secondary is it easier to go Typed or Positional?
  10. From what I heard this power is a real dog. Beware of Dog.

s'okay. I bring that out in posters somehow. I have had more flame wars started over my posts than i thought there were flames. I thought this one was innocuous enough, but ya never know when my power will surface!

But yeah, they are a rare bird (and it looks like we see why lol.) I am looking for an extremely tight build. In the development phase I never rule anything out. If I was building a car you would watch me trying to put the carburetor on the exhaust system during the initial drawings. (After all it could recycle exhaust/unspent fuel/and reduce emissions!) Sometimes you gotta let these things go though. Like the Scrapper Snipe.
  12. Nice Mauk. I am getting really excited about this. I made Red a part of my costume (Black/Red, may add some gold) and used Red Lightning, so I was already planning a little Mu Action. Haven't looked at the Incarnate stuff yet, hoping I get lucky there.

Right now he is 12. I will be staying with my main project for the next couple months (At least one more solid month) but when I get to where I just can't run another mission on my main project I am doing a little on this guy. I will be grabbing Blueside Banks and leveling him. I will create a Free account (my 1st!) so that when i flip I can grab all redside bank badges. Other than that he is parked at City Hall working on his 1st day job badge.

I'll be using the time until I really start running him to do concept/backstory work and get his build worked out in MIDs. I will be using as many tuned enhancers as I can. Since I plan on 50ing him and then doing a lot of Ouroboros it makes sense for me. Also, since I plan spending four to six months mainly on this guy money is seriously not an object (and my current project looks like it will generate the 35 A-merits needed for a PvP +3% def about once every 3 weeks or so hardly even trying...)

Again, thanks for the nudge in the direction. All signs point to this being a very good fit.

    Scrapper Snipe

Fun discussion so far, but I am no less confused.

A focused blast of Mu electrical energy that can travel great distances with high Accuracy. Zapp drains Endurance, and is best fired from a distance as it can be interrupted. Some of the Endurance you drain may transfer back to you.

At first glance it looks like I should void it, at second glance (after this talk) I still think I should avoid it. But I am giving it another look. And i am still gonna call it a Scrapper Snipe.
  14. Blue_Centurion

    Scrapper Snipe

Yeah, I was pretty much talking Patron Pools. I was thinking Mu Zapp in particular, but wanted some general strategy discussion from everyone about them. I am looking at building something (hopefully) epic over the next couple weeks along the lines of a Elec/Elec/Mu Scrapper, then maybe add any Incarnate powers with end drain, just to drive the point home lol.
  15. Blue_Centurion

    Scrapper Snipe

Are Scrapper Snipes worth it. In general, and/or for muling? Or should ya just run up and beat the crap outta it?
  16. Okay, I am starting to run a weekly Cathedral of Pain with some friends. Thankfully, they schedule/organize/lead. I am that best position, warm body.

I have some questions. I chose the badge/power/reduced merits last week. When i chose them this week I was told the new Power (7 day timer) would overwrite the old. That did not happen, I did not get the new power, and the old power went away as the timer went out like a hour later. Does anyone know the system for this?
  17. I did not read through all the responses. I think Tommy Lee Jones said everything I needed to say. I will say I responded quite carefully to the OPs complaint post about all of the problems with story arcs, a post he ended by stating he didnt care at all about the subject.
  18. Yeah, I always run at level 50 +0 so the non purp recipes sell better.
  19. I will take Jacobs Ladder. I will be soloing quite a bit. I am very used to Shadow Maul, and it seems related. (Long animation PB cone) I'll drop Air Sup to make room for that.

I like the ThunderStike animation, very comic booky. I am prob the only one right lol? The animation on Jacob's ladder is also comic book styling lol.

I am hoping to get away from Body Mastery and add a few Mu attacks, at least bolts and ball lightning. Is Elec/Elec dependent on Body Mastery to have a good end situation?
  20. So... I recently asked for and took some advice on a good Scrapper that might fit my taste. I found a good name, a light backstory, and created him. What I am lost on is where to start the build on him. I am going to drop a PvP +3% def, and a bunch of other stuff, like tuned kinetics, etc. (Planning on running this guy a lot, big plans) But I have no idea how to put the pieces together. Anybody got a Elec/Elec high end (expensive) tight softcap build I can peek at?
  21. Hmm, I thought about this a bit. It's the businessangle, right? Okay, lets play to that, cause a good point was brought up about base editor permissions. Check this money driven action. Each character builds personal prestige. (and maybe you can buy some "personal" prestige on the paragon market... With this personal prestige you can contruct a room (or series of rooms, or entire map like a mission map...) that attaches to your SG base. A door takes you from your area to the SG base common area. You can even have personal hosp, porters, etc in your area. Also, you can choose whether to play in reg mode, SG mode, SG/Pers base mode, or pure pers base mode.

    This does two things,

1 gets a lot of people using paragon market to quickly claim storage items rather than earn them, etc)
2)oves everyone from personal storage base to wanting to be affiliated with a successful/active SG, without giving up personal storage/personal area.
  22. Finished the Striga arc. meh. But got Hess TF unlocked. Will run that later. Ran the bank, checked all contacts, and leveled. 30 yeah!

    Rounding 29 to 30 had 315 badges, 21 Hero A-Merits (14 bought) and 138 Reward Merits.

Starting running content, and am budgeting a rough two week window for 30-34 content. Looking forward to Footstomp at 32, and slotting a bit more of my build in.
  23. Even I only 5 slot Purps, and I am purp crazy. i usually skip the rech/acc one. Because my builds tend to have a lot of +rech/+acc bonuses. An extra enhancer slot is an extra enhancer slot after all.
  24. Blue_Centurion

    Red is dead?

I played for years redside freedom, which is about as busy as it gets. And...not busy. Sure sometimes were busier than others, but nothing like Blueside on a busy server.

Redsiders are by and large solitary types, or small teams of pros. Except when thats not true and you have teams of amateurs doing crazy things, but you get that anywhere, even on dead servers. But by and large a smaller playerbase.

Redside is written better than Blueside, but not as good as what is currently coming out. People stay Blueside because there are more people Blueside, and therefore there are more people Blueside. Ya see? People certainly do not stay Blueside because they are heroic, becausee I see a lot more camaraderie, and honor, and looking out for one another redside than I do blueside. 'cept when I don't. ya see?
